Seeking Crystal

Seeking Crystal is more unique then the last two installments of this series.

In seeking crystal we see two of the benedict brothers find their soulfinders in two sisters. In this book we  see the story of crystal and diamond find love in Xav and Trace. Crystal and diamond get mugged while in the benedicts home town and trace comes to the rescue where we see the connection between him and diamond. crystal and xavs relationship doesn't start till later on as the two bicker like theres no tomorrow as crystal feels like she doesn't belong as she doesnt think shes a real savant. as the story progresses we see their relationship begin to develop after both of them be extras for a new film. crystal later gets her questions answered on why she's different from the others. 

One thing i like about this is how the family comes together as one to save each other. this is not seen in many other books i have read. 

This carries on nicely from the other books in the series and has plenty more potential for more.

Stealing Phoenix Review

Stealing Phoenix is about the building relationship of Yves and Phoenix . Phoenix is part of a bad group of savants and discovers Yves when she tries to steal from him. The next time they meet is when we discover they are soul finders. 

 One of my favourite things about this books is Yves non stop desire to save and protect phoenix no matter what is in their path. Yves doesn't stop even though phoenix tries to leave and deny what they have between them to protect him. It did become to get a bit repetitive though. Phoenix was a very good character for Yves and for the book altogether. She may have a hard life throughout the book but she doesn't give up, she just carries on going and doesn't back down. I liked how we get to know her and her journey as the story progresses.

 Another thing I liked about the story was that it was set in England. It showed a different aspect of the story from the original setting of Colorado. Being set in England made it feel more closer to home fore people like me  who live in the UK as we can relate to it more. 

 Joss Stirling's writing is unique throughout both the first and the second book. I knew after reading finding sky I had to read this one and I know I am definitely read seeking crystal. It is nice to see the geeky brother have his soul finder found. In each book I read I fall more and more in love with the Benedict brothers. The subject of savants is unique and nothing like anything else I have read. It was definitely a hard book to put down.

Review: Finding sky

Finding sky

I came across this book when in the library looking for books to read before I started buying books to keep. I knew after reading the blurb and the first page of the book that I had to take it home and read it as soon as I could.

Finding sky is about this girl called sky who has just moved to America from England. When going to her new school she catches a glimpse of the bad boy Zed. Since sighting him she cant seem to get him out of her head. He also seems drawn to her and when sky finds out why it changes her world forever. Sky finds out that she is a savant and that zed is one too which is why he can speak to her telepathic. Zed and sky discover that they are soul finders which meant they are meant to be together. This book is sky's journey of coming around to the fact of what she is and how it is being put to the test.

I love how we discover the savants with sky and learn at the same pace as her. For me it is really  interesting to read as its unlike anything else I have ever read before I mean the different skills in which savants have is like twilight but apart from that it is completely different.

I also the relationship between sky and zed!! From the moment zed discovers that she's his soul finder he is extremely protective of her which is very cute for me. I like how we see their relationship build and how they help each other at the end. It like how he is the only one that can speak sense into her when she goes a bit extreme and how his family take her in as their own daughter and protect her.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves romance mainly but also a supernatural approach. It is unique as it doesnt involve common things like vampires and werewolves.

Review: Vampire Academy

I came across vampire academy via instagram and when my best friend told me about the film as she had watched it. From her description i knew i just had to read it and ended up watching the film before i read the book. i really wished that i had read the book first but it was also good to see the differences between the book and the film when i read it.

The book is about mainly about these two best friends/ sisters, who are part of world of vampires. There are 3 different types of vampires in their world, they are moroi who are vampires that rare gift of harnessing earth’s magic, damphirs who have a mix of human and vampire blood in them so they don’t have to drink blood to survive and can go out in sunlight and also strigoi who are the bad vampires of the books. In this book the strigoi are after lissa who is the last remaining dragomir princess to be alive after a fatal accident. Rose who is lissa’s best friend is determined to keep her safe as she is a dhampir who are the guardians of moroi. At the beginning rose and lissa are dragged back to the academy after they have run away and so for the story begins of their life in the academy but all is not what seems.

One of the major things in this book is the bond in which lissa and rose share. this is a one way bond in that rose can feel and see what is happening to lissa but lissa cant see it back or tell when its happening. The way the bond moments are written in the books makes you feel as if you are also in lissa’s head and can feel hows she feeling herself. Another thing i loved about this books was all the romance that was bursting at the seams inside. there was lissa and christian romance which we saw build and progress over the book and also the forbidden romance between rose and dimitri. its was fun to watch them try and hide their emotions from each other during the book.

I absolutely loved the way in which richelle wrote these books as she made you connect with the characters that you ended up thinking you were also in that story and felt all the emotions in which all the characters were feeling. when you get to the end of this book it makes you want to jump straight back into the world agian by picking up the next book straight after putting down this one. I would definatley recommend this book to anyone who loves romance whether it be forbidden or not and also for people who love their fantasy and paranormal books as it is a perfect book to pick up and start reading.
