PHOTO OF THE DAY: The 1997 LSU baseball team, behind All-American shortstop Brandon Larson, set a record for regular season wins with 45 before going on to win the CWS title. Last night, with an 11-2 victory over UNO, the 2013 Tigers broke that record, improving 46-7 for the school's best record in history.

PHOTO OF THE DAY: Ten years ago, Glen "Big Baby" Davis was still deciding whether to play football or basketball in college. When he cut down the nets in LSU's 2006 Final Four run, his selection had long since been justified.

I can tell you too that if I was looking for a New Year’s Eve event, and I was really trying to impress the Mrs., I think taking her to Atlanta, getting a game in with my favorite team and finding a way to celebrate New Year’s is great. Let’s say the game is over by about 10:30 p.m., we can freshen up a little bit, and go find a place I can twirl my sweetheart. At midnight, I’d get a kiss.

The 3 craziest comebacks: 3) LSU (5.3%) over Seton Hall. (Thursday) LSU trailed 48-32 with 16:09 left but turned it around for a 72-67 win which keeps the Johnny Jones era unblemished. The Pirates managed to commit 17 turnovers during the closing stretch, so I’m not sure how they found the time to score 19 points.

Johnnys Jones and O'Bryant thank LSU fans for their support after the Tigers' 72-67 win over Seton Hall on Friday night. The Maravich Maniacs were particularly maniacal, and helped key LSU's run to overcome a 16-point deficit.
