Me: plants. I really enjoy plants.

Dude: ahhhhh plants huh? I think I know what plant you are talking about. *wink wink* you must enjoy it as much as I do.

Me: the metasequoia glyptostroboides? Yaaaassss. I love how the tree communicates through an underground network of fungus to help distribute water and nutrients in order to ensure a healthy population. Or is it the asimina triloba with its large banana tasting fruit that grows in thickets all along the eastern seaboard of the us and largely an untapped resource of food?

I'm sorry that I seem like a bad friend. But, honestly, how about you try to balance a healthy family life, a loving/life long relationship, good grades in school, and a three bedroom house and kitchen? Give me a break. Sorry I can't leave work on a whim to hang with you. I have responsibilities. Step up son. I actually went to class today.

These days I realize what's important. I love my cats, my plants, my girlfriend, and I couldn't care less about money. Who the hell cares if I can't afford the shoes I need? I like the shoes I've been wearing for five years. I'm filled with love on a daily basis, I'm content with who I am, and I'm ready to get my life where I want it. You don't need dollas, you need love. Step up humans.

This made me so fucking happy that I haven't eaten beef in five years. I'm only 22 and a decent chunk of my life has been spent caring about the animals that people tend to write off as food. You go cow! You're cuddly, amazingly useful, and an all around boon to my life.
