Composition : a modern take
(Reupload)
Composition is one of the many aspects to take into consideration when taking a photograph. And although an image only takes a millisecond to snap, it requires time, creativity and patience to compose. I consider it to be one of the main factors to what makes a good photo or moving picture, what really tells the story (partly because Iâm colorblind).Â
With this in consideration, my humble opinion states Bertie Gilbert has done some of the best amateur work on the topic of photography in the last year. His videos on his YouTube channel, although never periodical, has demonstrated great thought in the process of its making. His directory has never ceased to fascinate me. How someone of such a young and impressionable age could show much knowledge of direction in a short films. Every scene could serve as a meditated photo and tells a story even without his voiceovers or dialogue.Â
It shows great experimentation and even a sort of trend-worthy 90â˛s vibe. Ironically, it works. It appeals to a young audience and, as an audiovisual communication student, it is important to me. Other factors, such as his music style, silent moments and color pallets tie into the imagery, and add to the fact that photography is becoming more modern, as seen with this raw way of merging different arts and media.
He discloses a modern take on photography and is careful of his posts, something we donât see very often in this ever-changing twenty-first century. Hopefully, heâs also inspirational.
