Chapter 124-Recap
Yukio vs Rin….again.
We start off with demon Rin pummelling Yukio, demonRin has take over human Rin. He’s trying to kill Yukio.
And here’s the thing. Yukio wants to be killed. Why? They need both Rin and Yukio to make a strong enough vessel for Satan. Yukio thinks that if he pulls a Shiro and sacrifices himself, he buys Rin more time.
If Lucifer doesn’t have Yukio he fails, so he must protect him. Yukio is just as important as Rin. Even more special, as a matter-of-fact, because he doesn’t have any attachments and doesn’t feel love openly. Yukio has buried his feelings so deep….he’s prime for possession.
Lucifer is probably lying to Yukio about not being able to be possessed by a demon. I wonder if Yukio is the vessel and Rin is the telomere? Maybe Satan is trying to decide which son is more appropriate.
But….love always saves the day.
Rin realizes that he loves Yukio and stops himself.
Satan then starts to berate Rin and tells him he’s “stupid like his mother.” Which I’m going to retranslate into “smart and strong like your mother.”
Having a good human heart full of love wins against the evil of demons. Satan realizes that Rin potentially can’t be corrupted and is now “a nuisance.”
Rin does screw up though. When he’s trying to separate Satan from Yukio he gives Satan a bit too much information.
He mentions that “Yukio has a huge chip on his shoulder and Satan…immediately wakes up and tries to protect Yukio in earnest.
Yukio is the one he wants! The one with the weak heart. A chip on his shoulder? Excellent!
Shura’s tried to warn Yukio before, but did he listen? Rin is going to be fine in all of this but Yukio is still in danger.
Shura and Yukio pretty much had the same childhood, neither becoming attached to anyone, both knowing they needed to die. The comparison here, is interesting. So…I did a little chapter remix.
So if Rin can’t make Yukio value his life who can? If Rin can’t make Yukio feel love who can? It has to be the key to saving Yukio.
To save the boy you need to strengthen his soul and bring out his emotions. Emotions don’t make you weak, they make you human. Humans are stronger than demons. Demons are only parasites in Assiah feeding off of weak human minds.
Who can break through to Yukio? Shiemi?
I’m still on team Shura here. She seems to be the only person that elicits any sort of reaction from Yukio. I think that Shiro had Shura watch over Yukio for a reason. She’s the one that has to help guide him through all of this.
