A repository for sūtra at Kawasaki Daishi. Founded in 1128, Kawasaki Daishi is the headquarters of the Chizan sect of Shingon Buddhism. Also, it is a popular temple for hatsumōde (the first visit to a place of worship in the new year). I went to Meiji Jingu stadium with colleagues to watch a baseball game. Baseball is one of the most popular sports in Japan. It was introduced in 1872 by an American, Horace Wilson, who was an English teacher in Tokyo. [Escape from the busy Tokyo] Shirakawa-gō, a historic village in Gifu. Together with Gokayama in Toyama, it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. Located in a mountainous region that was cut off from the rest of the world for a long period of time, these villages with their Gassho-style houses subsisted on the cultivation of mulberry trees and the rearing of silkworms. Inside of an old farmhouse in Jidayuboru Park. Jidayubori Park is a compound of late-Edo Period (1860s) thatched farmhouses in the western ward of Setagata Ward. Jidayubori is the water irrigation system built under the supervision of Koizumi Jidayu. A real rice paddy has been created here and buildings from the late Edo era such as farmhouses, plastered warehouses, sheds, and a fire-fighting hut have been brought in and reconstructed in the garden. Visited Inokashira Park to see cherry blossoms!🌸🚤 The park, established in 1917, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2017. The Inokashira Pond, which you can see in the picture, was the source of the first water service for the city of Edo, the Kanda water supply. Shinjuku at night. “Shinjuku” literally means “new lodgings". In 1698, Naitō-Shinjuku had developed as a new (shin) lodgings (shuku or juku) on the Kōshū Kaidō, one of the major highways of that time.
