Rant Alert: I take umbrage with the term 'barn find' used to describe watches. As Mike from American Picker's said 'I've only found one Rolex in a barn'. That is because watches, unlike cars, are not items that tend to be kept it or found in barns. So to all the car dudes that use their terminology on watches, well, I'll set the record straight. It is 'Drawer Find' because that is where watches get found by people. They get put in a drawer, forgotten about, and get found again. At first blush this looks like an ordinary WW2-era field watch...for the most part it is; what is unusual is that it is made from solid silver. Cool/special/interesting vintage doesn't always need to break the bank.

Unreal oversized unpolished #Record 'Sport' with incredible bronze patina dial. Record was bought by #Longines which may have been a way too both neutralize a competitor and add some major talent: Record watches pre-Longines acquisition are usually exceptional pieces. This particular Record certainly fits that description. Awesome right down to the unique dimpled original pushers.

Very rare #Blancpain #Fiftyfathoms in 18k white gold, boutique only with the blue dial. Mounted on a vintage style strap it completely changes the look and feel of the watch. Total stunner.

A spiritual brother to yesterday's #Tissot lobster, this #genta inspired (the designer is unknown...maybe it was him) integrated bracelet behemoth #Eterna #kontiki weighs in at 145 grams! The bracelet is literally chunks of solid steel. Rare and cool on a meta level.

Wonderful and uncommon #Vulcain Meteor in steel: very mid-century, an incredible radiating circles dial and a killer case with classic lugs. It will never be an 11 million dollar piece but that doesn't stop it from being really cool.

A sweet pair of #eterna #kontiki on beads of rice bracelets. Gotta love the beautiful beveled cases and classic mid-century looks.

#Omega #Seamaster 168.050 42mm racing chronometer from the early 70's; it is an impressively large watch with a huge dial diameter that make the 22mm lugs make sense and fit well. Has a anti-magnetic cover and the caseback Eben has an original number in it which I think might have been from the chronometer certificate. Rare to see unpolished and not beat up with an original crystal (has cyclops date magnifier). I guess I'm geeking out about it because I like it and was excited to buy it and mount it on the badass strap, it's a killer look.
