plot twist: you let someone in and they don’t fuck you over
I don’t normally do this but meh, I absolutely adored this movie to let it go without a praise. It is one of those movies that rips your heart out and stomps on it repeatedly. I am not talking about the Notebook type (afterall Noah and Allie did end up together). I’m talking about the other kind, the rare kind..the ones like Painted Veil or Devdas..the ones without the  happily-ever-after..the ones that reduce even most badasses into tears..the ones that give you no emotional comfort whatsoever..  Yeah those are my favourite(not a big surprise there..Im known to be a pessimist).
In essence Ishaqsaade is one interesting portrayal of romance and racial conflict. It was a bit of a rude awakening to be honest. At first it is the same as any other Bollywood movie, the ones that you cuddle up with mum on a Saturday arvo with Ice cream or Lattes. Well it has the two rivaling families from different religious backgrounds, the collage romance thing and two opposite people bound to fall in love.Â
But then it gets better, so much better, the storyline changes and make you wanna hop to the end (worst idea ever by the way). Â
The movie diverges from the mainstream ones by breaking all kinds of rules, especially in advocating forbidden love between a Hindu man and a Muslim girl(but not in a Veer-Zaara way,in more of a Dil-se way).Â
And as debuting actors (whilst being easy on the eyes) Ms. Chopra and Mr. Kapoor deliver fine performances. Since it is the last movie made by late Yash Chopra it kinda marks the end of an era of Hindi cinema really.Â
Cant wait to see these two together onscreen again!
As a man - and I’m 34 now, not a child - nothing gives me more pleasure than, well, my wife. No seriously, as a man, nothing gives me more pleasure than putting my wife in front of me and seeing her be celebrated…And the coolest thing is, when you’re done and back in your bedroom when it’s all over, and it’s just the two of you, she will make you feel like you’re the most important thing in the world. And you know it meant the world to her to have you there - that’s what she’s so happy about. That’s what’s most important to her - Abhishek Bachchan Vogue July 2010
I believe in old fashioned romance..the kind where you exchange hand written letters instead of text messages. There is a level of dedication and commitment pronounced in slaving hours away to pour your heart out..there is beauty within it..a certain sense of vulnerability and intimacy..and copious amounts of love. Â As corny and naive as it sounds writing a letter to your significant other should definitely be in your bucket list.Â
always loved this place for some reason
person: so do you watch any tv shows?
me: are you sure you're ready for this conversation
Every time I think I cannot possibly love Benedict more……He does something that makes me love him more. This man will be the death of me.
