Hi! :3 What are your thoughts on Mikami being a lawyer at such a young age?

That he's an absolutely insane prodigy, easily on Light's level in terms of academic prowess.

Mikami passes the bar exam at 21 on first try - that's impressive, but more impressive when you know that prior to 2006 reforms the pass rate for the Japanese bar was... a whopping 2%. Virtually nobody passed it first try. It was the hardest bar exam in the whole world.

Mikami passes it first try and the narration describes this as having been easy for him.

As Ohba himself says, Mikami's backstory chapter exists to establish that Mikami and Light are equals.

The only reason Mikami doesn't get the same glorious acclaim as Light is class - Light is an upper middle class private school kid, Mikami grew up in actual poverty.

Mikalight are absolutely NOT sentimental about dates like birthdays of anniversaries to be clear. It would be PURELY coincidence on the day of Mikami's birthday that Light would want them to go out and look for new fancy watches and pens that merely serves a purpose for enhancing Mikami's ability as God's Hand.

And after a long day of getting these things for Mikami it would only be LOGICAL that they need to replenish their blood sugar levels to continue filling their duties as Kira and what better way to do that with a Birthday Cake?

Since they still need to be undercover, Light is only relaying a secret message to Mikami about appreciating his efforts in the Kira cause in the form of a signed Birthday Card.
