I'm sorry for disappearing off the face of the earth.
I've been trying to find a place to settle after eviction.
I will be back soon!
Remember you are perfect the way you are! You deserve and are worthy of love!! You are not falling behind nor stuck, you are exactly where you are needed to be!!!
The doors on either side of the hallway opened and closed over and over, with no one coming in or leaving. They hit the wall with a hard force when they slam open and you had to make sure you werenât too close to get slammed into. The door frames looked as if they were holding on by a thread.
Thunderous, lumbering foot steps roared out behind you. They sounded far away and close at the same time. You glance over your shoulder every time you turn down another corridor, but your eyes never caught any movement besides the creepy doors.
You werenât too sure if something was actually chasing you, but there was that heaviness in your chest, that sinking feeling in your gut, and everything within you urged you to run. So, you listened and ran.
You pushed yourself faster and faster with each turn, making sure to cut close to the corners and taking off even quicker. After running down a few more turns, you skidded to a stop.
Double doors stood tall at the end of the corridor.
Letting out a sigh, you walked to the doors and gave them a sturdy push.
Nothing.
They wouldnât budge, it was as if you were pushing on a cement wall.
Roaring in frustration, you reared a foot back and kicked. The doors rattled against their hinges, almost mockingly. Sighing, you turned back, determined to find another way out of the hellscape.
Said hellscape had other ideas.
The long corridor you had just came from was gone. A chipping wall stood in front of you, shortening the hall byâpractically the whole thing.
âJust my damn luck.â You hissed as you turned to face the doors, âeither these doors better start door-ing or a sledgehammer better make a grand appearance.â
You jumped as the doors began shaking as if someone were on the other side pounding relentlessly. The frame creaked from the force before finallyâ
âIâll get it!â
Sitting up quickly with a gasp, you rapidly blinked to clear away the black spots that dotted your vision.
A dream. Holy shit, it was just a dream.
A hauntingly vivid dream at that. Your fingertips could still feel the texture of the chipping wall of the corridors. A tight feeling in your side from all the running had you sitting still for a moment, not daring to breathe in too deeply.
If it was a dream...why am I feeling the sensations from it?
âHey, I wasnât expecting you until later...I was hoping weâd have the house to ourselves.â
Leonâs voice in the entryway snapped you back to the present. After stretching side to side, making sure the pain in your ribs had passed, you finally stood from the couch on unsteady feet. The cool wood against the bottoms of your feet helped to wake you, but it clearly wasnât enough. There was only one thing that could cure a terrible nightâs sleep.
âCoffee,â mumbling as you ambled for the kitchen, âI need coffee.â
Monday always called for a large mug of the dirty bean water, but it wasnât just any Monday. It was what Allyson dubbed as the âMeeting Monday Extravaganzaâ. A full day of lectures from Wilson and other high ranking agents about working together. Apparently one of the groups had a member who didnât want to cooperate with the entire squad and almost gotten everyone killed by B.O.W.s.
Once Wilson heard about the incident...well, it was rough. He barreled down the hall mumbling about babysitting âadult childrenâ instead of actual adults. After he calmedâas calm as Wilson could getâhe demanded mandatory Monday meetings.
And the only way to endure such a long day talking about camaraderie and teamwork is with coffee. The only problem was the new coffee machine that Leon got recently after the old one broke.
Heading for the cabinet full of cups, you snagged a good sized mug and turned for the fancy machine. Loaded with a million buttonsâmore like ten, but thatâs still a lotâyou placed the mug in the slot before grabbing your favorite flavor and shoved it into the machine. You reached for one button and paused before doing the same to another. Your finger hovered over all the buttons at least twice by the time you finally found the right one.
Iâm going to have to label this thingâŠ
A bang sounded above you before you could hear Leon grunt echoing down the hall. Hushed voices followed, then footsteps up the stairs.
âThere you are.â You turned around as Leon leaned in the doorway of his open-concept kitchen/dining room, pulling a clean shirt over his head. âYouâll have to go to the agency without me, I..uh...have company and will be a few hours late.â
âIs everything okay? That soundedââ
âIt was nothing, justâŠâ He trailed off as he glanced everywhere but at you, âjust being clumsy, you know?â
âHmm,â you sighed as the coffee machine dinged behind you, signaling for you to enjoy the sweet, sweet energizing caffeine, âI hope Iâm not...interrupting isnât the right word...Overstepping? Getting in your way?â
Leon shook his head quickly, âyou couldnât ever overstep or get in my way, youâre perfectly fine here...well, but I doâŠâ He paused to scratch the back of his neck, still refusing to make eye contact, âI do need you to leave within the hour.â
Not expecting that answer, your pointed brow rose. âSo I am getting in your way.â
âNo!â
âYou can just come out and tell me, you donât need to be shy about wanting me gone.â
âHey,â his long legs brought him to your side, âitâs not like that, I just need you to leave for work. But Iâm not kicking you out.â
Your heart screamed for you to believe him, but your brain knew better. It told you that you had obviously overstayed your welcome. You were used to people getting tired of you, hell, your parents even kicked you out when you turned eighteen.
âIâll go after a shower.â You murmured before sipping the coffee, not really tasting the flavor due to the churning feelings in your chest.
Leonâs expression softened, easily reading your change in mood. âI promise, Y/N, I want yââ
Another thud clattered the floor above you, and before you could ask Leon about it, he briskly walked out of the kitchen and up the stairs, leaving you in a whirlwind of emotions.
âI hate Mondays.â
***
âDSO?â The taxi driver looked you up and down, âainât that that government building?â
âYes.â You sighed at the man as he finally pulled out of Leonâs driveway.
âSo whatcha do over there? Dissect aliens or something?â
âOr something.â
You stared out at the leaves that were still falling from the trees. The anticipation of the beautiful autumn coloring had you metaphorically holding your breath until summer finally ended, and you welcomed fall with open arms.
Even in late November, the leaves still clung to the branches, trying with all their might to hold on.
âSurveillance, then?â You could feel the driver eye you in the rear view mirror, âyou know, I have an uncle who wonât buy my cousin glasses or contact lenses because he thought the government could spy on him through the lenses.â
You kept quiet and stared at the passing trees, having no idea how to respond to...that.
âYou spy on people?â
âAbsolutely not.â
He stopped at a red light, âI bet they train you to say that.â
Holy shit.
âYouâre doing something suspicious, I bet. Most government work, if not all, is highly suspicious.â
âIf being stuck under piles of paperwork is suspiciousâŠâ You blew a stray hair from your face, wishing you were anywhere elseâeven at one of Wilsonâs meetings.
âSo you are doing suspiââ
âNo offense, sir, but what I do at my job is my business. You donât hear me asking you a million questions about your job.â
The taxi was quiet as the chill from inside the car matched the chill outside. The tension was thick enough to slice through as the driver turned onto the highway.
âWhoâs this asshole?â The driver grumbled, âhogging the damn road like he paved it himself.â
Said asshole was on the taxiâs left side, drifting into the taxiâs lane and then back in his own. Glancing at the trailer, you couldnât find anything that signaled which company the truck worked for. There werenât any designs, just a blank, white trailer.
âFucking piece of shit. Must be a newbie they let out way before he was ready.â
Taking the next exit, the taxi turned to get on another highway that would lead to the DSO building. Car honks stole your attention as you swiveled around in your seat and stared as the semi braked roughly, switching lanes quickly to get behind the cab.
âHe must be lost, donât they use those fancy GPS systems?â The driver shook his head, âwhatever, not my idiot to show the way.â
A sick feeling in your gut had your eyes glued out the side window, watching nothing and everything all at once. The driver didnât seem too fluster about what happened, more annoyed than anything. He must be used to this kind of stuff.
âAnyways, do you think contact lenses are safe fromâwhat the fuck?!â
The question came to screeching halt along with the brakes as something hit the front of the cab. Your eyes focused as a man pushed up from the windshield and gave the driver an apologetic smile.
âWhat the actual fuck were you thinking?!â The driver jumped out of the cab, âwho the hell skateboards on the side of the highway at...fucking five forty in the morning?!â
You stared down at your lap, contemplating whether or not to walk the rest of the way. Missing Wilsonâs meetings sounded like heaven but the lecture youâd get for being a no show was certainly not worth it. Grabbing your bag, you pulled out the amount owed plus tip and sat it in the passenger seat before unlocking the seat belt and hopping out of the car.
The two men paid you no mind, too busy arguing amongst themselves as you rounded the cab and headed for the agency. The highway wasnât too busy for almost six in the morning, but you still quickly ran to the side of the road, not wanting to become a pancake.
Hmm, pancakes sound good right about nowâŠ
A loud crash behind you had you turned on your heels. The semi had crashed into the back of the cab and still driving, inching the cab closer toward the shoulder of the roadâtoward you.
The man with the skateboard jumped out of the way while the driver raised his hands to his head, staring in disbelief as his half-totaled vehicle The semi came closer, snapping you out of the pity you had for the strange driver. He mightâve been nosy about your job, but he didnât seem like a bad person.
Stepping back, you watched the taxi begin to push in opposition of the semi before it ended up left behind in the road for the driver to mourn over.
The semi headed straight for you, albeit at a snails pace. You stepped to the side and watched in annoyance as the truck turned, angling so you were in front of it again.
âYouâve gotta be fucking kidding me right now.â You huffed and turned, glancing around the darkness for somethingâanythingâto shield you from this situation. A tall building not too far stood out. Squinting a bit, you recognized the old abandoned factory and headed for it.
Squealing tires had you running instantly into the ditch and cutting through the grass toward the factory. You felt a sharp pain in your ankle as your foot finds an unseen hole. You fell on your front while gritting your teeth. With tears in your eyes and dread in your heart, you glanced over your shoulder at the semi barreling toward you.
The ditch acted as a little ramp, adjusting the position of the semi so that it landed unevenly to your right. You pushed yourself to your feet, hesitantly putting pressure on your ankle until you felt the muscle knit together. After testing the newly healed appendage, you looked up to the semi.
It was still rumbled but didnât move. No doubt the driver had a bad meeting with the steering wheel after that. The trailer was angled higher than the cab of the truck, barely attached.
You walked up to the semi and stood on the foot step and pulled the door open. It was dark inside the cab, but you could easily tell that there was no driver in the seat. If it was one of those self driving trucks, then the company had a lawsuit coming.
You stepped closer before red flashed into your view. Pain erupted in your gut before it seemed to ricochet up your spine. Staring down at the red exposed muscle, you instantly recognized the creature that had its claws wrist deep in you.
Licker.
âYou know,â you gasped as it tore its claw from your body, the force of it pushing you backwards out of the semi and onto the cold, hard ground as blood trickled from your lips, âyouâre a really awful driver.â
You sat at your desk early Monday morning, fingers clicking away on the keyboard, trying to finish a few documents that Wilson wanted re-done for a second time. The clacking keys almost drown out the morning gossip of your nosy co-workers.
Almost.
They didnât try to hide the fact that you were the topic of conversation. Word had spread that you got the job without having do go through the rigorous hiring methods and training that they had to, that you basically strolled through the front door--albeit covered in blood--and was offered a job on the spot. That had rubbed people the wrong way. They believed that you didnât deserve to work at the DSO, that you didnât work hard enough to earn the right to work for a government agency.
As if you wanted to in the first place.
You groaned out while checking the time. It was only seven, and the work day had barely started. The cold, neglected coffee cup at your side reminded you that it was time for a second cup, maybe even a third. You would usually be training with Leon at this time, but he was whisked away at the front door with the promise that he and Wilson will be stuck in meetings for the majority of the day.
âIs working the only thing you do?â
Your fingers froze as they hovered over the keys. âI usually work when Iâm at work, besides,â you pushed back from the desk so you could turn and face Allyson, âthe faster I get this done, the faster I get Wilsonâs assistant off my back.â
Nodding at the side door where Wilsonâs assistant, Maria, stood nervously. She ducked behind the door frame a little once she noticed that she had your attention, along with Allysonâs. You couldnât help but feel pity for the poor woman. Being the assistant of the most uptight person youâve ever met must be exhausting.
âBut, good morning to you, too.â Turning to face Allyson again, your brow raised slightly, âand what about you?â
âMe?â She cocked her head, âwhat about me?â
âDonât you do work while youâre at work?â
An easy smile grew, making her look like every bit of the model she no doubt could be. âWilson doesnât bother me with fixing my paperwork since I annihilated his expectations of me a long time ago.â
âDo I want to know?â
âNope.â
âFair enough.â You shrugged.
Silence filled the air between you, allowing you to hear the gossip once more. Allyson narrowed her eyes at a few people who dared to stray to close to your desk, before leaning on it.
âAre you planning to get your license anytime soon?â
Her overly curious tone made you suspicious, especially when she tried to play it off as nothing.
âYeah...why?â You asked, tryingâfailingâto patiently wait for her answer, but the sense of dread began to fill your chest.
âJust wonderingâŠâ She trailed off teasingly.
âAlly,â you warned, âIâm not really a big fan of surprisesâŠâ
Allyson pouted, working her âkicked puppyâ look. âBut, Y/N, it really is nothing, I swear. Just a little secret.â
Your eyes met hers as you stared for a moment before reprimanding yourself for being so paranoid. One bad thing happened and so now you couldnât trust your own friends? And thatâs who Allyson was to youâa friend. Sure, you hadnât known her for long, but since that first scouting mission with her, she has been stuck to you like glue. She always had your back, especially on missions. She has more than earned your trust. There was abolutely no reason to feel worried about her intentions.
âIâll...be getting it soon. Iâm waiting on my parents to dig out my birth certificate from the attic. I lost my copy a while ago.â
âExcellent.â Allyson smiled, âIâll be waiting with bated breath until the very moment you finally have it.â
Maria tapped on the door frame, getting your attention as her brows knit together, making her worry lines deepen in her forehead. She pointed to your monitor and then tapped on the watch strapped to her wrist.
Message received. You sighed deeply, âweâll have to finish this conversation later.â
Allyson grumbled in agreement as she sauntered out the door, making sure to stick her tongue out at Maria before turning down the hall.
Once everything was in order, you attached the document to an e-mail and hit send. Sending Wilson an e-mail sounded much easier than having to hunt him down. Since Maria had disappeared ten minutes before eight, you wouldnât be surprised if he was already in another meeting, and interrupting Wilson in a meeting was basically signing your death certificate.
***
âRemind me again why I accepted your offer to train together?â You coughed as your back hit the padded mat on the training roomâs floor.
Allyson dusted her hands as if she just tossed out some garbage instead of knocking you on your back. âBecause that stupid bitch at the help desk was flirting with Stevens.â
âAnd you wanted to use me as a punching bag?â
âExactly. Now, on your feet.â Her wicked smile sent chills down your spine.
Never flirt with her crush, duly noted.
âArenât we supposed to spar? Shouldnât you teach me some techniques orââ
She snorted and crossed her arms while looking down at you, âand have Leon criticize my skills? Hell no, he wonât let me live that down.â
You hopped to your feet, âbut if you just wanted to let out some steam, you couldâve just grabbed the sparing dummy and beat it until they have to buy a new one.â
âYeah, but the sparing dummy doesnât wheeze when I do this.â She grabbed you by the arm and turned so you were behind her. She used your confusion to her advantage and pulled you forward, flipping you over her back so that you landed roughly on the floor at her feet.
âNo,â you wheezed, âI suppose the dummy wouldnât.â
Allyson sighed and flopped down beside you, laying shoulder to shoulder. âWhy donât I feel better?â
âBecause youâre beating up a dear friend and not the one person who you want to beat up.â You laughed, âwhy donât you just ask Matt out?â
âWould you believe me if I tell you that Iâm celibate?â
âNot a chance.â
âWhat? Why ever not?â She feigned shock.
âBecause your aura screams sexual prowess.â
âNope, youâre wrong.â She scooted a little closer, making a show to check around the room to make sure no one would hear what she had to say, âI donât know what sex even is. Iâm a clean-minded nun, sent to infiltrate this government facility to expose all those who are perverted.â
Your brow quirked up at that, âyou? A nun?â
âYes, Y/N, itâs not a hard concept to understand.â
âAlly, do you remember that new communications tower they built on the roof of this place?â
âAh, yes, the weirdly shaped tall-talky-tower, I believe I know of which you speak.â
âAnd do you remember how they installed new satellite dishes on the side of the building?â
âYes, but Iâm not sure how this proves Iâm not a nunâŠâ She huffed.
âAnd do you remember when you busted down the door to the meeting room, ignored Wilson and pulled me from the meeting to drag me outside because at a certain angle, the two satellite dishes line up perfectly with the tower to look like a giant âcock and ballsâ, as you so âinnocentlyâ put it?â
âI didnât do such a disgracefulââ
âAnd when Wilson finally caught up with us, he thought there was trouble on the roof, looked where we were looking and then went red in the face with rage?â
She pouted, âhe sure is fast for an old man. I was hoping to lose him on the way, but he stayed right behind us.â
â46 is not old.â You laughed, âyou better hope he never hears you say that or youâll be in trouble again.â
âToo late.â
Allysonâs wide, fearful eyes met yours. âTell my parents I love them, tell Stevens that Iâllââ
âAllyson, I need to see you in my office. Now.â Wilsonâs grating voice cut through the training room like a cold knife.
You mouthed âgood luckâ to her, too afraid to speak. There was one thing everyone in the DSO knows not to do. One thing that the higher ups warn you about, and what other workers uphold as the highest rule in the agency.
Summary: Kidnapped and experimented on by Umbrella, the only thing you wanted so desperately was to finally be free.
Warnings: NSFW smexiness towards the end of the chapter
Unlocking the front door, you pushed into Leonâs dark house with a sigh as your shoulders slumped. After locking the door, you rolled your shoulders trying to ease the tension in the sore muscles. You had your guard up after reading the note, knowing if Garcia could sneak into your hotel room, then there was no telling where he could show up.
What a dayâŠ
This was the first failed mission, and everything seemed off ever since stepping foot off the jet.
After showering the dayâs frustration away, you slipped on one of Leonâs borrowed shirts and sat on the couch. Images flew through your mind as you tried to take it all in.
Hours passed as you laid down on your back, staring blankly out the window. The bright moon that cast shadows through the living room had retreated behind several large clouds, making the shadows disappear and leaving you all alone with your wandering mind.
Thunder roared in the distance as the wind made the branches of the large oak tree dance against the window, and you made note to trim them before they damaged the house.
The piercing alarm startled you from your thoughts, making you grumble out as you turned it off.
It was Saturday and you werenât supposed to work, but Wilson had called a meeting with your unit, wanting a recap of everything that happened. Not that you mind if it meant you didnât have to write a report for the mission.
Reports were a pain in the ass to write. The first time you wrote one, Wilson had hunted you down to make you rewrite it because you didnât provide enough information the first time. Ever since then, youâve made sure to include every littleânot importantâdetail to make sure it was up to his standards.
You were out the door after having a small breakfast, running for the taxi that waited in the driveway. Wilson didnât look too pleased when you entered the board room.
âYouâre late.â He greeted once you sat down, âsome of us like to keep a schedule, Y/N.â
âIâm sorry, it wonât happen again.â You murmured as you stared down at the desk in shame.
âSee that it doesnât.â Wilson retorted before grabbing a stack of folders and passing them to everyone.
âAlright, so letâs start at the top then, shall we?â
The meeting seemed to last forever as Wilson made everyone repeat what they did during the mission over and over again. Once he was finally satisfied that he sucked every ounce of information he could, he made sure to remind everyone to write a detailed report.
You sat in the board room long after everyone had finished their reports as you contemplated whether or not you should mention the note you had found. You hadnât told anyone about it, not wanting anyone to worry.
Besides, what if it wasnât from Garcia?
You decided to keep the note a secret for a while longer, just so that you could make sure your hunch was right.
âDone?â Wilson looked up from his laptop as you held out the folder to him.
âYeah.â
âThen get out of my sight,â he grabbed the folder and placed it with the others, âIâll see you Monday.
The day flew by as you cleaned around the house, wanting to make everything nice and neat for Leon so he could relax once he returned from his mission. You were putting away the cleaning supplies when you heard the front door open.
Shutting the hall closet door, you all but ran to the entrance, eyes lighting up as you spotted Leon pulling off his muddy boots and placed them next to your sneakers by the door.
âWelcome home!â You greeted, standing by the staircase with a bright smile.
He did a double take; cheeks slightly red. âThank you.â
Taking in his appearance, your eyes scanned the mud that was smeared on his jaw down to the side of his neck as if he was clumsily grabbed from the side. His black shirt was torn at the collar under the mud on his neck, and his black jeans were wet and muddy.
âIf you think I look bad then you should see the other guy.â He chuckled as he noticed your stare.
âOh, no, no!â You waved your hands, âyou look really good, I promise!â
The red on his cheeks grew as he smirked at you, âoh, yeah?â
Your body stiffened as you realized what you said, âyâyou know what I meanâŠâ
âDo I?â
Your heart hammered against your chest as its rushed beating reached your ears. You stood rigidly, mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water.
âDid I break you?â Leon teased, tilting his head to the side as his eyes locked on yours.
Why am I panicking?
âY/N?â
âIâŠIâŠâ Your hands flew up to cover your eyes, can I just crawl under a rock and die?
Something wrapped around your wrist, startling you. Before you could blink, Leon had you in his arms, rocking on one foot to the other as he patted your back.
âYou know,â he leaned down to whisper in your ear, âIf I get a reaction like that every time, then Iâll never stop teasing you~â
Shivering as his breath caressed your skin, you could feel the heat rush to your face at his words. âSo meanâŠâ
You could feel his smirk as he pulled away, âalthough I don't want to let you go, I still need to shower.â
He quickly turned away before you were able to ask him what he meant.
âWaitââ You called after him, but he was already gone.
Swallowing thickly, you walked over to the living room and glanced out the window. The rain had died down to a sprinkle as the drops peppered the window, leaving tiny watery dots that streaked downwards on the clear glass.
I wonder if itâll rain tomorrowâŠ
You started dinner while Leon finished his shower. He was coming downstairs running a towel through his hair as you closed the oven and placed the pan onto the counter.
âThat smells amazing.â He moaned, throwing the towel into a hamper near the staircase.
Your cheeks lit up at the sound, but you tried to brush it off, blaming the heat of the oven for any redness that lingered on your face. Leon shook his head and chuckled as he stood next to you, reaching up to open the cupboard to pull out the plates.
You made sure everything was cooked thoroughly as you inhaled the delightful scent of fresh ingredients. Leon made the table as you brought the pan over, setting it down in the middle of the table.
He was already seated, waiting patiently with wide and hungry eyes before ravaging the food. He shoveled the food into his mouth, and you had to fight not to choke on your own food as you laughed at his childish behavior.
After dinner, you put away any food that was left over into the fridge while Leon washed the dishes. The evening was nice and quiet, and you were finally able to relax.
Not sleeping the night before started taking its toll on you as your exhausted body slumped down onto the couch. Leon shut the lights off in the kitchen before flopping onto his couch with a deep sigh.
âIt feels so good to be home.â
âIt was too quiet with you gone.â You pull the blanket over you and laid down.
âSo, you were lonely while I was away?â You could hear the smirk in his tone.
âNo, nope, not at all, incorrect.â
âOw, my feelings.â He laughed.
Comfortable silence settled around as you turned onto your side, âmaybe a little bitâŠâ You whispered.
He didnât respond as you slowly fell into a deep sleep.
You sat alone in the morning, wiping the sleep from your eyes. Leon went to finish his report before Wilson hunted him down.
Shaking your head, you grabbed the jacket you had borrowed and went out the back door. Leonâs house was up on a hill that allowed for beautiful sunset viewing. He had a decently sized front yard and a large back yard. The front was pretty empty, no decorations, no furniture, nothing.
The back yard had a couple of chairs that could lay back with a grill sitting close by. A large in-ground pool took up the middle of the back yard, it still had its winter cover on.
Trees surrounded the house and yard, some were still bare from the recent winter, some had leaves, and some were evergreen. It was certainly picturesque.
The wind was blowing furiously, picking up your hair and dancing through your strands as you sat in one of the chairs. Birds chirped as they descend to the ground in search of worms, while others gathered small twigs and blades of grass to make a nest.
A male cardinal caught your attention as it landed next to a female cardinal. Your lips curled into a smile as you watched the male strut by the female until she looked over at him and flew away.
âDonât give up, little buddy.â You murmured words of encouragement to the bright red male, âgo get your girl.â
The male followed the female into the forest, and your gaze went skyward. The clouds flew by quickly, showing how strong the wind was as it pushed them forward. Dark gray clouds stood out in the far distance as they quickly headed your way.
âAnother rainy day, it seems.â You sighed and relaxed back into the chair. You followed the different patterns of the clouds until your heavy eyelids slowly closed.
Light brushing against your hand stirred you from your sleep. You could hear someone breathing deeply next to your ear before the sound traveled south, stopping at your neck where something warm pressed against your skin.
âThat feels amazing.â You moaned out, stretching your neck to grant the person more access.
A hard chest pressed against your own, making butterflies flutter around your stomach. The person sucked your sensitive flesh almost painfully before kissing over the mark they surely made. A hand pushed your shirt up, running their fingers over your abdomen.
Something hard poked against your thigh as lips pressed against yours hungrily. The hand on your stomach snuck underneath your shorts, finding your sweet spot.
âAh~â You moaned, hips jutting upwards on their own.
âAlready so wet, and I just started.â The person murmured against your lips, âso fucking good to me.â
The familiar voice sent tingles through your body, amplified when you felt a single digit enter you and curling upward, brushing against a bundle of nerves.
âTâThere!â You whined as a pressure started to build within your stomach.
âFuck,â he growled out, âyouâre so beautiful.â
He went back to pepper your neck with his marks as he added another finger inside you. The friction of his thumb on your clit paired with the intrusion of his fingers worked you for all youâre worth. The pressure continued to build up, like a dam ready to burst.
You were about to climax when his fingers came to a stop, making the pressure linger for a moment before slowly retreating. Eyes still closed, you turned toward him, âwhy did youââ
His fingers resumed their ministrations as he chuckled darkly, âI told you Iâd never stop teasing you.â He kissed the shell of your ear, âeven when I have you like thisâŠâ
The pressure from before built up again, taking you right to the top. âIâIâmââ
âCum for me, sweetheart.â He purred, âI wanna hear you.â
White stars danced around your closed eyelids as you came undone, your chest grew warm while arching your back, and your legs spasmed at the pleasure that washed over you. âLeon~â
He sucked in a breath as he listened, âsuch a good girl.â
You settled back into the chair, stretching your legs out.
âMy good girl.â
A cold drop hit your forehead, waking you with a start.
You were still outside in the chair; the dark clouds were over you as the sprinkle quickly turned into a pour. You were soaked within minutes as you looked around, still alone.
WâŠWas that a dream?
It had all felt too real. His breaths, his words, his touches. You could even feel the wetness from your orgasm.
Did I really have a wet dream? What am I, a teenaged boy?
An ache settled within your heart, âdamn.â
âY/N?â
Standing, you turned in time for Leon to embrace you, squeezing your cold body close to his warmth. âIâve been calling your name,â he shouted over the rain, âwhat the hell are you doing out here?â
He pulled away, grabbing your hand and pulling you toward the back door.
âHow long have you been out there?â He leaned into you to grab the handle and close the door behind you.
âNo idea,â you swallowed, âI fell asleep.â
He ran out of your sight before returning with a few towels and placing them on the table next to you. âYou need to change, or youâll get sick.â
You nodded, letting him pull your arms out of the sleeves before pulling the jacket over your head. His eyes stared at your chest where your hard nipples showed through the fabric.
He swallowed thickly before grabbing a towel and running it through your wet hair. The towel blocked his view of your bright red face.
âHey, are you okay?â He inquired, moving the towel down to the ends of your hair.
âYâYeah,â you croaked.
Leon leaned into you once again to wrap the towel around your body, but he suddenly froze once something hard brushed against you. He quickly pulled back after wrapping you in the towel.
âI, uh, just got done training and I,â he swallowed as he turned around, âneed a shower. Yeah, a cold, cold, shower.â
He left you standing there, red-faced and breathing heavily.
Summary: Kidnapped and experimented on by Umbrella, the only thing you want so desperately is to finally be free.
âHey, do you think this swanky place has a swimming pool?â Matt directed the question to his brother.
âThey must have one, and I bet itâs heated.â Drew practically vibrated with excitement.
âYou know,â Allyson crossed her arms, âif I didnât work with you both before, I would never guess that you were agents by your behavior.â
Matt rolled his eyes, âpot meet kettle. You were drooling while buying snacks earlier. Reminded me of a kid in a candy store.â
âHey!â Allyson pushed his arm, âyou promised you wouldnât tellâŠâ
You glanced over at Drew, who had a big smile on his face while watching his brother and Allyson interact.
âAlright, children.â He interjected, opening the door to leave. âMy brother and I have some important investigating to do.â
âJust make sure youâre back before we have to leaveââ
Matt held his hand up, cutting Allyson off. âYeah, yeah. Weâre not kids, you know.â
âSometimes I wonder.â Allyson grumbled as she watched the twins leave.
She waited a moment before spinning on her heels with a huge grin. âHow does a little retail therapy sound?â
You sighed and laid back on the bed, âcount me out. I think Iâm just going to nap.â
Allysonâs smile instantly turned into a pout, âfine, suit yourself.â
She left shortly after as you wiggled more into the thick comforter, enjoying the support the pillows gave your tired head.
It still boggled your mind sometimes. You were on a bed instead of a floor, among friends instead of guards and monsters. Of course, your skin still tingled at the memories of what Barlowe and Mr. James did to you. Your nose still crinkled up unconsciously as if it was preparing you for the smell of rotten flesh from the undead. You could still feel the fear that was so tangible from the subjects that were locked in their cells, unsure if they would ever see their families again.
And you still didnât know how many were able to escape, or if they all perished in that god-forsaken place.
Your heart ached as your eyes slowly closed, and you finally drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
âCannon ball!â
Your eyes flew open as your body was lifted into the air and landed roughly back on the bed. Matt laid next to you, rolling over to the edge to stand up.
âYouâre trying to get yourself killed, arenât you?â You glared at him. âYou shouldnât do something so dangerous.â
âWhat do you mean? All I did was jump on the bed, nothing dangerous aboutââ
You smacked him as hard as possible with the pillow that was closest to you. He wasnât prepared for your attack and ended up falling backwards onto the floor.
âânever mind. I have now learned that waking Y/N is the most dangerous thing ever.â He groaned.
âYou call yourself an agent, Matt?â Drew laughed, âany well-trained agent wouldâve seen that pillow long beforeââ
Before he could finish his sentence, you threw the pillow at him, hitting him square in the face.
ââI fear you.â Drew backed away from the bed.
Allyson walked in from the bathroom and jumped onto the bed next to you, making you groan in frustration.
âDoes no one know how to sit on a bed gently around here?â
âYou have to get up.â Allyson patted your arm while batting her eyelashes to make her look innocent, âand stop beating up the boys, we need them tonight. You can kill them tomorrow.â
âDeal.â You agreed.
âUh,â Drew mumbled cautiously, âdonât we get a say inââ
âNo.â You and Allyson said in unison.
âWhy do I feel like you just signed our death certificates?â Matt eyed Allyson while standing upright.
âItâs a two-for-one special.â She stared down at her nails, âletâs get this pre-meeting over with, shall we?â
âDoes everyone know what their role is and what to do?â Drew asked, looking at everyone and waiting for an answer.
Everyone mumbled âyeahâ before Drew continued, âalright, good. So, weâve made sure that Garcia heard about Y/N being in Washington tonight.â
âWe sent an undercover agent to Umbrella a few days ago to cozy up to Garciaâs colleagues and help spread the word.â Allyson whispered to you.
âAnd you think they told Garcia about me?â You tilted your head up at Drew.
âThatâs what weâre hoping.â Drew frowned, âalthough, Barlowe made this situation difficult to work with by keeping you a secret, but if Garcia truly is after you, then he should take the bait.â
You sighed, âI still canât believe I agreed to do this.â
âItâll be fine, Y/N.â Allyson hummed, bumping shoulders with you. âBesides, you said you wanted to make Umbrella pay for what they did to you, right? Taking one of their top scientists out of the equation will hurt their corporation as a whole.â
âI guess youâre right.â
Drew went over the plan a few more times before he and Matt went to their room to get ready. You were tightening a bulletproof vest around your torso when Allyson snuck back into the room, arms full of snacks from the vending machine.
Your brow hitched as you stared at her.
âWhat?â She asked while stuffing candy bars into her extra hip pouches.
âNothing.â You shook your head, ânothing at all.â
âHas Leon trained you with a gun yet?â She began zipping up her pouches.
âNo.â You grumbled, knowing that you wouldnât be using a gun on the mission.
âHereâs a combat knife, then.â She held out the knife, blade pointed at her so you could grab the handle.
âBoo.â You sighed and took the knife.
She checked her holsters and pouches, making doubly sure she had everything that she had brought along. âDo you remember the path Wilson highlighted for you to take?â
âYes. How could I forget when you and the boys keep telling me?â You tied up your sneakers before pulling a jacket from your duffle.
Allysonâs eyes widened for a fraction of a second, âjust make sure you follow the path, and Iâll be a few feet behind you.â
âWait, why are we splitting up?â
âI figured that Garcia would be more likely to initiate contact if you were alone.â
You didnât like the sound of that, âwellâŠokayâŠâ
Allyson smirked, âby the way, I love that jacket.â
âOh, thank you.â
âIt almost reminds me of the one Leon had on his office chair beforeâŠâ
You felt your face heat up, âwâwell I didnât have a jacket and he said he didnât want me to get cold and Iââ
Allyson waggled her eyebrows as her smirk turned into a full-blown smile.
ââwait, itâs not like that.â
She hummed, âdonât mind me~â
You shrugged the jacket on while grumbling; it zipped easily over the vest since Leonâs clothes were too big on you.
âSo, whenâs the wedding?â
âAllyson!â
You left the hotel aloneâŠwell, with Allyson trailing behind you.
The idea was to make it look like you were alone, as if you had no idea what you were doing after leaving the facility, which wasnât too far from the truth. You had no idea where you would be if you never met Leon.
Would you be back home?
Back to the small, sad apartment that held nothing but horrible memories?
Of the countless nights where you would do whatever you could to escape reality for just a little whileâjust long enough to survive?
Or would you have run off, starting a new life in a new city that had no idea of who you were; meet people who didnât know of your existence until you introduced yourself?
Of course, you had fantasied running away from home when you were younger. The whole idea of starting over really did sound amazing, especially when you didnât have anything anchoring you to your hometown anyways.
So technically, you were living out your fantasy.
But you had never imagined getting kidnapped and tortured would be a part of the deal.
âGet your head out of the clouds, Y/N.â
âOh, uh, did something happen?â You asked as you glanced around.
âNo,â you could feel the confusion in Allysonâs tone through the earpiece you wore, âyou took a few steps out of the front door and then stopped on the sidewalk.â
âI did?â
âAre you feeling okay, Y/N?â Mattâs concerned voice snapped you out of your thoughts completely.
âIâm fine,â you ignored the funny looks from the passersby as they probably wondered why the hell you were talking to yourself, âI just got lost in my thoughts, Iâm sorry, it wonât happen again.â
âGet your head in the game, Y/N.â Allyson chirped.
âSorry, I canât seem to hear you, Iâm going through a tunnel right now and my commâs signal is a little spottyâŠâ You sighed dramatically, âtechnology these days, I just donât know what to do~â
âYouâre walking down a sidewalk in the middle of a large city. Youâre far away from the nearest tunnelâŠâ
âYou silly goose, where did you get an idea likeââ
âIf you two donât stop messing with each other then im going to make sure Wilson gives you both extra work for a month.â Mattâs stern voice rang through the comm, âdo I make myself clear?â
âCrystal.â Allyson grumbled.
âYes.â You sighed.
The arches in your feet ached by the time you reached the office building. You still werenât used to being so active after being locked away in a small cell for months. Leon kept reassuring you that your stamina would return after training and eating properly for a while.
You felt bad for making him worry about you, so you promised him that you wouldnât do anything too strenuous.
âAlright, Y/N.â Allyson murmured, âjust follow the route, and Iâm right behind you.â
âCopy that.â You started your journey around the building.
âImmediate area is clear of anything suspicious, no B.O.W.s in sight.â Drew sighed, âI was worried that theyâd be doing a show and tell with their monsters at the meeting tonight.â
âWould they really bring monsters into such a big city?â You asked as you turned the corner.
The comm was silent for a minute, ânot all at once, you guys.â You huffed.
âThey donât really care if a virus gets out, so why would they care about any of their monsters getting out, too?â Allyson sighed, âthey only care when they canât get away with it.â
âIf they donât want to be held responsible for their actions, then why do they make the things they do?â
âGreed.â Drewâs anger-tinged voice made goosebumps raise on your arms, âtheyâre the basic definition of corporate greed.â
âI understand if they just enjoyed science and wanted to make cures for viruses, but they went too far.â Matt chimed in, âthey allow the viruses to spread without truly caring about the people it affects.â
You crossed your arms over your chest as a heavy weight seemed to settle in your heart. How could people do such a thing?
âHey Matt,â Drew huffed, seemingly out of breath, âdo you see anything on the cameras?â
Mattâs expertise is anything tech related. He easily hacked into the office buildingâs security system; whatever showed on the securityâs monitors would show up on his monitor. He even hacked into the cameras on the buildings nearby the office building, giving him a view of the sidewalks and streets outside of the building.
âI havenât spotted anything strange, just office workers that look like they are ready for their deaths.â You could hear a clicking sound in the background as Matt spoke through the comm, âI donât blame them. Iâd be bored to death.â
âWhat about outside the building?â Allyson asked.
âHmm, letâs seeâŠâ More clicking sounded in your ear, ânope, just people hurrying to their destinationâwait.â
Everyone went silent as you anxiously waited for Matt to continue. He didnât say anything else until you had circled the whole building and stood at the front.
âFalse alarm, just a drunkard making a scene.â He sighed in annoyance.
Screams sounded behind you, startling you into action.
You spun on your heels, holding your hands up as you took a defensive stance, hoping that you could win a fight with just a knife.
Thatâs when you realized what you thought were screams were the hysterical laughter of some people as they crowded around an obviously intoxicated man as he stumbled around the sidewalk, barely managing to stay on his feet.
Your eyes darted around the crowd, something seemed so oddâŠyou couldnât quite put your finger on it. Everyone looked normal enough, except for the lack of human decency as they pointed and laughed at the poor man, but nothing else seemed strange.
âDrew, how does the perimeter look?â Mattâs question snapped you out of your daze.
âNothing out of the ordinary.â
You turned around and resumed the steady pace you had earlier as you still wondered why you felt like something was wrong.
âEveryone, get back to the hotel immediately.â Matt ordered.
You ran back to the hotel as fast as you could with Allyson on your heels. Drew arrived a few minutes later and joined you, Allyson, and Matt in your room.
âWhat happened?â Drew asked breathlessly, leaning against the wall for support as sweat glistened on his red face.
âWilson just called,â Matt explained, âGarcia was spotted at the L.A. facility thirty minutes ago.â
âHeâs not even here?â Allyson snarled, âhow did we get it so wrong?!â
âWe donât know what happened. So, calm down, Allyson.â Matt ordered, clearly as frustrated as she was.
Matt pulled his phone out to call the other agents who were on standby, telling them what had happened.
That nothing had happened.
âThe one time we get a good lead on a top scientist, and it blows up in our faces.â Drew pushed off the wall and laid on the bed.
âHow anti-climactic.â Allyson sighed. âI was expecting a successful mission.â
âRemember what Wilson said?â Drew questioned as he turned his head to look at her.
âIf Garcia didnât take the bait, and if no one was injured, then everything would be fine.â Allyson spat, âbut it doesnât feel fucking fine.â
âWeâll try again.â Drew reached up and patted her arm, âand weâll get the bastard.â
The flight back to D.C. went by quickly and silently.
Everyoneâs mood had taken a major hit, and the air was filled with anger and frustration of the missionâs outcome.
Once the jet landed, you grabbed your duffle and headed for the bench next to the front door of the DSO building. You werenât sure if Leon was back from his mission yet, so you had called a taxi to take you back to his house. He had made a spare key for you so you wouldnât be locked out while he was gone.
You opened your duffle and moved things around, trying to find some of the snacks you had bought at the hotel. A crinkling sound filled your ears as you grabbed what you had thought was a snack.
Pulling out a ball-up piece of paper, you unraveled it while trying to remember when you had put it in the bag. After smoothing out the wrinkles as best you could, you read the words that were scrawled out on the paper.
âWeâll be in touch, Y/N.â
There wasnât a signature or anything that indicated who had written the message, but you had a feeling who would go as far as this to send you a private message.
Garcia.
âI thought he was in L.AâŠ.?â You mumbled to yourself while rereading the note.
He mustâve had plenty of time to waltz into the hotel before heading to L.AâŠ.but how did he open the door?
âThe bastard was one step ahead, it seems.â You hissed through clenched teeth as you ripped the paper over and over before throwing it in the nearby trashcan.
Hey sweetheart! I apologize if this is a bit out of the blue, but I just wanted to let you know that you're an amazing writer and a wonderful person! I adore your work and you seem really cool. I hope you have a great day!
I'm sorry that I'm just now getting back to you, but this definitely made my day!
Thank you so much and I hope you have a great day too <3 <3
you are capable of self love, and if youâre not there yet, thatâs okay. you have time. be patient with the process. it can take a lot of changes in perspective to see how incredible you are when itâs so easy to pick out flaws.
Hello, how are you? I hope you are healthy.đ I love all your stories, but above all Captive, I have two questions when Thomas and Wes, will get married, the reader will be their bridesmaid? And will Thomas and Wes be her wedding witnesses (I don't know if that's the right word in English) I can't wait to read the next chapters. Keep going with your amazing job.đ
I'm doing well, thank you. I hope you're healthy as well.
If Thomas and Wes get married then reader will definitely be their bridesmaid.
And I love the idea of them being the reader's wedding witnesses, so that's a yes too.
I'm so glad you're enjoying the story and thank you again <3
hello <3 can i please have 17. saying just the right thing to calm you down for Chris Redfield? thank you really much
"i LOVE YOU" PROMPTS // ACCEPTING
17. Saying just the right thing to calm you down
Your heart was pounding in your chest, head light as you slowly began to hyperventilate. You could smell the desolation all around you, fire mixed with burning flesh, blood, and the sickly scent of the molded undead.
Even though you had been trained for this; had gone onto many missions to kill and fight the undesd with the BSAA, you had never seen anything like what was out there. Truthfully, you were scared.
Your captain, Chris Redfield, knew it as well. With rhe team split up into two's to form a somewhat perimeter, Chris had kept you with him because deep down, he could tell that you were scared.
Nobody had seen anything quite like the mold before except Chris and his team back in Louisiana, but you had joined after the incident.
You were still a rookie, but Chris cared deeply about you; a deeper feeling than he felt for his team. As he stood next to you, listening to you hyperventilate, he knew he had to do something and fast if he wanted to keep you from collapsing or passing out.
Standing in front of you, Chris made you look at him before placing his hands on your shoulders. He said gently, blue eyes sincere as he looked at you.
"I'm going to protect you, (Y/n)."
You gazed up at him with wide and surprised eyes, breathing almost stoppung completely as he grabbed your hand, placing it on his chest and breathing.
"Breathe with me, okay?"
Yqou nodded and followed his lead, breathing when he did and letting out as he did. Slowly, your breathing was under control again, and Chris asked you gently.
"Are you alright?"
"I...I think so. I'm sorry, Captain."
Chris shook his head and replied, placing a hand on your shoulder.
"Don't apologize. We all get scared sometimes, but as long as we stick together, everything will go according to plan."

Allyson pulled you through the large groups of people, marching straight for the hotel that the DSO had reserved for the mission. The agency had apparently picked out a five-star location that had a view of the building that the meeting should be held in.
The meeting was set to start that evening, giving you a few hours to try and come to terms with the idea of being used as bait.
Dr. Garcia was a slippery fellowâalways on the move. He could be in Washington that evening, but by morning he could be in London, or maybe even Paris. He would always stop in a city, work at one of Umbrellaâs facilities, and then leave.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
The behavior was too suspicious for a scientist. Even Barlowe had everything filed away in one alphabetical location. The thought of him traveling from facility to facility was almost comical.
So, what was Dr. Garcia working on that required him to travel so much?
Thatâs what the DSO was hoping to find out.
But being used as bait just didnât feel right to you. If Garcia didnât take the bait, what was the DSOâs next plan? This whole mission relied solely on you for success, but what would be the backup plan if you were indisposed?
When you were briefed on the mission, you could tell it was incredibly rushed, which was very unlike Wilson.
In the short time that youâve known the agent, you knew for a fact that he was a stickler for perfection. He would know how every mission could end, if there were possible alternate ways for it to end, or if it wouldnât work out from the beginning.
After the mission plans were formed, they would have Wilson look over them from top to bottom before he had to brief the agents on the details. If there was a part of the plan that was deemed illogical or impossible, Wilson would voice his complaint, and then help with the revision.
But this mission was obviously hidden from Wilsonâs vigilant eye until the last second, not giving him time to look over and make adjustments if necessary. Wilson had seemed grouchier than usual, and thatâs saying something. It seemed like he wasnât privy to the mission, and he definitely didnât like that.
Allyson froze in front of the entrance of the hotel, deciding whether to use the automated doors, or the roundabout door. Her head moved as she looked from one door to the other, over and over.
Glancing over her shoulder and giving you a creepy smile, she ran full speed for the roundabout door, moving it faster than was intended, making sure that you couldnât leave until she was ready for you to leave.
âAllyson,â you huffed, losing count on how many times she had forced you to run in a circle in the enclosed glass, âthere are other people who need to use the door.â
âThereâs another door they can useââ
The door stopped moving, making Allyson ram her face into the glass.
âYou arrived at this city thirty minutes ago and youâre already causing a scene?â
Stevensâ booming voice had you turn around quickly, apology ready at the tip of your tongue until you noticed his position. He had used his upper torso to jam the door, which trapped him between the door and the glass encasing.
âUh, are youââ
âStuck? Trapped?â He pushed against the door a couple times before giving up, ââŠyesâŠâ
âI leave you alone for ten minutes and youâre stuck in a door, Matt?â
A man that looked just like Stevens shook his head at the agent with a disapproving frown.
âWhoâs Matt?â You asked.
âThe idiot stuck in the door.â The man replied as he tried to pull the door to free Stevens.
âAnd you areâŠ?â
Allyson rubbed at a red mark on her forehead, âDrew.â
âYou can call me Agent Stevens if you want.â The manâDrewâchuckled, âthough, youâd probably get confusedâŠwell, more than you already are.â
âTheyâre twins.â Allyson explained as she pushed on the door, trying to help in any way she could.
âAndrew Stevens and Matthew Stevens, at your serviceâIâm trying to help you out, Matt, why the hell are you kicking me?!â Drew jumped away from Stevens.
âRevenge for the âidiotâ remark.â Stevens whistled, acting nonchalant.
You leaned over to Allyson, âare they always like this?â
She kept pushing the door, âyou know how brothers are.â
âTrue.â
After the combined efforts of you, Allyson, and Drew: the door finally pulled backwards enough for Stevens to inch his way out.
He rose his fist in celebration, âcanât mess with the likes of us, you cruel door!â
A crowd had formed around the door, eyes peering up at your group of four, watching intensely.
âYou are embarrassingâŠâ Drew clapped Stevens on the back, âwhy didnât you use your foot to stop the door?â
âI didnât want it to crush my foot,â Stevens shrugged.
âYouâre an idiot.â
You and Stevens stood off to the side as Allyson and Drew waited in line for the front desk. Stevens watched everyone in the room, eyes darting from one end to the other. Your eyes darted around as well, but for a different reason.
The walls were painted a beautiful burgundy that went well with the dark wood of the coffee tables and accent tables. Minimalistic artwork hung on almost every wall, though, not anything you would care for.
A giant chandelier hung from the middle of the large main room, dangling crystals were so clear and shiny that you couldâve sworn that they were real.
That was, until Stevensâ head blocked your line of sight.
âIâm sorry I didnât tell you about my brother joining our mission, we left the office late and got here later than you girls andââ
âItâs fine, Stevens.â You patted his arm, reassuring him.
âYou can call me Matt, if you want to, that is.â
âI guess the Matt is out of the bag, huh?â You joked.
He stared down at you, âyouâve been around Leon for too long.â
âY/N, I have our key.â Allyson tapped your shoulder, bringing you out of your awkward exchange with Matt.
âAnd I have ours, little brother.â Drew stood behind Allyson, holding up a keycard.
âYouâre only one minute older than me.â Matt grumbled as he glared at his brother.
Allyson grabbed your wrist and pulled you away from the arguing duo. She led you to the elevators, hitting the button and waiting for one to open.
âTheyâre going to be fighting for a little bit, so we might as well find our room while theyâre at it.â Allyson explained as the elevator door opened with a ding.
âWhat room are we?â You asked, watching Allyson press the â2â.
â256.â
The elevator groaned as it lifted you to the second floor, the same ding sounded out while you and Allyson looked around. The hotel was the definition of luxurious. Usually, the elevators would be in a small alcove, with a hall on either side.
But this hotel went above and beyond.
The elevators opened to a decently sized sitting room packed with thick, plush chairs and sofas. A flat screen hung on the far wall, situated between the twos halls that led to the rooms. A mini bar with a bartender sat on the left side of the room.
The walls were a pale sand color, while the carpet was a deep red color, it felt like you were walking on a cloud with every step.
Below the flat screen were two plaques on the wall, one pointed to the left hall, while the other pointed to the right.
âRoom 231-260.â Allyson pointed to the right hall.
You followed behind her in the well-lit hall. Although, you didnât have to walk very far before reaching the end of the hall. There was a hall on your left, and one to your right, making a âTâ shape from the sitting room.
âHang another right,â Allyson murmured before walking down the hall to your right.
There was a little alcove that you had to walk through to get from the previous hall to the new one. You spotted what the alcove contained. Allyson noticed that you werenât following her anymore, so she turned around and looked at what you were so fixated on.
Her eyes widened, and you could see her making baby steps to the alcove in your peripheral vision.
âIâIs it my birthday?â Allyson mumbled.
A row of vending machines that had every snack you could name off the top of your head caught your attention before your eyes wandered to the soda machines right next to them. Coffee vending machines were on the other side of the soda machines.
You didnât even know coffee vending machines had existed.
Ice dispensers were on the opposite side of the vending machines, you walked over and hit the button that dispensed the ice, eyes lighting up once you discovered that they had the good ice.
âCan I live here?â You moaned as you popped the small, crunchy ice into your mouth.
âMe tooâŠâ Allyson chimed in; face pressed firmly against the glass of the snack machines.
âAlready harassing the snacks, I see.â
You looked over your shoulder at Matt as he shook his head at Allyson in disapproval.
âI had to get here before you ravaged the machine. Itâs always empty once youâre done with it.â Allyson stuck her tongue out at him.
âWellâŠâ He laughed, âyou arenât wrong.â
He and Allyson took turns buying snacks from the machine while you decided to head for your room.
âIâll be there in a few, Y/N.â Allyson called out, âI just gotta get us some snacks first.â
âUs, huh?â
Shaking your head, you made your way out of the alcove and down the hall. Looking around for your room number, you mumbled â256,â like a mantra to help you find the right door.
âAh, here it is.â
The doors were tall, almost intimidating to stand next to. The hotel probably had a variety of people come in and needed to accommodate them accordingly.
Allyson had slipped the extra keycard into your pocket when she hauled you away from Drew and Mattâs argument earlier. Reaching in your back pocket, you pulled out the key and slipped it into the slot on the doorknob. The red light on the knob turned green with a quiet beep, and you slipped the key back into your pocket as you pushed the door open.
You froze in the doorway.
A large dresser stood tall and proud next to the windows that gave you a breath-taking view of the city. Across from the bed was a tv stand that held a good-sized flat screen tv, one that you never wouldâve expected to see in a hotel room. A writing desk stood on the other side of the tv stand, complimentary water bottles sat on a tray on top of the desk.
âHoly shit.â
The room was bigger than any other hotel room you had ever been in. The walls were a bright white with flower paintings hung here and there. A queen-sized bed sat in the middle of the room with night stands on either side.
âWith a hotel this nice, those water bottles are probably $100 each.â You mumbled, glaring at the bottles.
You walked over to the bathroom and pushed the door, jaw dropping at the walk-in shower with multiple headsâone being on the ceiling. A beautiful marble counter housed a sink, fake flowers in a pretty vase stood on the corner of the counter next to some folded up towels.
âIâIs this a millionaireâs hotel?â You asked aloud as you tried to recover from the shock.
Do people go to hotels like this regularly or was this a once-in-a-lifetime sort of thing?
The hotel bill must be atrocious, and the DSO didnât even hesitate to pay it.
âDid I die?â
You popped your head out of the bathroom to watch Allyson spin in circles on her heel as she checked out every part of the room.
âNo, but it sure does feel like it, huh?â You sighed as you placed your duffle bag on the bed and sat next to it.
âThis is so beautiful; I think I could cry.â
âIâll cry with you.â
Allyson sniffled a little before placing the snacks on the desk before holding her arms out wide and falling backward onto the bed, making you bounce once she landed.
âSo, weâre sharing a bed, eh?â
âLooks that way.â You bounced on the bed again, testing its softness. âEven the bed is nice.â
âI never want to leave this bed ever again.â Allyson sighed.
You glanced over at the most likely expensive-as-hell water bottles, eyeing them closely before you stood up.
âIâm going to get a soda; do you want anything?â
âNah, Iâm good, thanks.â
âIâll be right back, then.â
The short walk from your room to the alcove allowed you to spot more details of the hall. The door frames had little flowers carved into them, and the carpet hid designs made from velvet.
You couldnât imagine the stress the construction workers must have been under while making this building. The owner probably hovered over every single one while they made these small details.
Standing in front of the soda machines, you glanced at each one, trying to decide which soda you wanted. They had all your favorite flavors, making it doubly hard for you to choose.
About five minutes later and you finally pick your favorite among favorites and headed back to your room. It took you a few tries to get your finger under the tab, then you pulled and opened the can.
The soda erupted onto you, soaking the front of your shirt while large droplets trickled down your neck, making you cringe at the thought of being sticky.
âOut of all the cans, why was this the one to volcano me?â You growled in frustration as you yanked the door open.
Placing the soda on the side table next to the door, you hiked your up and pulled it over your head, using it to wipe off the sticky soda that was still on your skin.
You marched over to your duffle bag and began to unzip the top.
âWoah, hey there, Y/N.â
You froze.
âThat voice.â
Allyson was laying on her stomach on the right side of the bed, she was holding up a phoneâyour phoneâthat currently showed a red-cheeked Leon on the screen.
âOh, uh, heyâŠâ You pulled up the duffle to cover as much of your chest as you could while simultaneously opening it.
âLeon video called, and I accidentally elbowed the green button.â Allyson confessed, but judging by the mischievous smile she wore, you knew she answered it intentionally.
âI wanted to check and see if you made it yet, but it looks like I called while you were uhâbusy.â Leon laughed.
âWe just got to the hotel, weâre not busy quite yet.â Allyson shrugged. âY/N just got back to the room, actually,â
âI had a hot date with a soda can,â you pulled out a fresh shirt and threw it on.
âSo, you go topless on the first date, huh?â Leon smirked.
âOnly to avoid getting sticky.â
âGood to know.â
âHow so?â You sat next to Allyson, giving Leon your full attention.
A man called out to Leon, and the call was muted on his side while he and the man spoke intensely.
âNo reason.â
Leon looked angry; his nostrils flared before he closed his eyes, taking a deep breath and unmuted the call.
âMore work?â You inquired.
âYeahâŠmore Plaga bullshit.â He gritted out, âpeople will never learn, it seems.â
âPlaga?â You asked in confusion.
âItâs a long and complicated story,â he smirked, âone best told during dinner.â
Allysonâs eyes were wide as she looked between you and Leon, waiting for your answer with bated breath.
âSounds like a plan.â
Leon smiled, âIâll hold you to it, then.â
After saying your goodbyes, you snatched your phone from Allyson.
âYou answered my phone on purpose, didnât you?â You accused as you raised a brow.
âIâll admit it,â Allyson held her hands up in defeat, âI saw him calling and answered, but I didnât think you would come in topless.â
âMe eitherâŠâ
âI just wanted you two to talk since you didnât really get to while we boarded the jet. I just thinkâno, I know thatâwell, maybe I donât know for a fact, but still Iââ
âYouâre ramblingâŠâ
âI justâŠâ She paused as she glanced down at her hands. âLeonâŠheâŠâ
You patiently waited while she tried to figure out what she was going to say.
âLeon is a nice guy, but heâs neverâI thought he would neverâinvite someone to his house, especially a complete stranger who was walking around an Umbrella facility with no wounds but covered in blood.â
âHe wonât even tell Matt where he lives, which I donât blame him since Matt has a bad habit of just showing up without notifying you, but still.â She inhaled deeply before smiling up at you, âI just think he saw something in you that made him trust you.â
She continued, âsomething that he likedâsomething that I think heâs been missing. I really, truly, wholeheartedly believe that he likesââ
A knock on the door interrupted whatever Allyson was saying. You jumped up and looked into the peephole, stifling a laugh as Drew pushed Mattâs face out of the way and tapped on the peephole.
âI may not be able to see you, but I can see you.â Drew kept tapping on the peephole before Matt pushed him away.
âThat doesnât even make sense.â
âIt doesnât have to make sense if itâs right.â
âSays who?â
âYours truly.â
âBoys.â You shook your head in disappointment and opened the door to let them in.
âThanks, Y/N.â Matt nodded his head to you.
âThank you.â Drew gave you a dazzling smile.
You were still shocked at Mattâs behavior since arriving. At the office, he had a strict air of professionalism that almostânot quite, but closeâmatched Wilsonâs. Yet, there he was, belly flopping on the bed next to Allyson and laughing as she flew into the air a bit.
Drew stood off to the side, smiling down at his brother. He caught you staring and beckoned you to join him.
âYou know,â he whispered into your ear, âIâve been trying to get those two together for years now.â
âTheir chemistry is amazing.â You nodded.
âExactly.â
âWhat about you?â You questioned, âis there a lucky lady in your life?â
You counted down as you lift a heavy box and set it down on the dolly.
"One down," you glanced at the stack of boxes that littered your apartment, "many, many more to go."
Placing two more boxes on the dolly, you pulled back the handle, pushing the dolly out the front door and to the moving truck you had rented.
You whistled a tune as you maneuvered up the pull-out ramp and placed the boxes neatly in the back corner of the truck.
Going back into the house, you repeated these actions until your kitchen and living room were clear of boxes.
Heavy as they may be, you weren't too concerned about them as they were still medium-sized boxes and easy to handle.
No, the thing that concerned you was your large furniture. When you had moved in, it had taken two men to haul in your dresser and bed.
You stared at your dresser; trying to come up with ways to get the thing out of your bedroom. The reason why it was so heavy was because it's made out of real wood; same goes for your bed frame.
And since you were moving out alone, you had to come up with ways to get everything out by yourself.
The dresser was way too big for the dolly, so you had to grab the two furniture dollys that were made for moving heavy furniture, and placed them on one side of the dresser.
The only thing left to do was lift one side of the dresser at a time, and slip the four-wheeled dolly under each side. It was easier said than done; you only had two hands, after all.
"You're going to strain your back if you lift that by yourself, and I'm the only one allowed to strain your back around here."
Leon leaned against the door frame, arms crossed as he gave you his famous smirk.
"I thought you were at work?" You smiled, relieved that he returned safely.
"Just got off, and a little birdy told me were moving out today." He walked into the room before pointing behind him, "I brought in some reinforcements."
Chris Redfield followed in behind Leon, looking strong and ready to take down whatever challenge came his way.
"Ah," you greeted, "the boulder-puncher himself."
"In the flesh." Chris chuckled before making his way to your dresser.
Leon gave you a quick peck on the lips, "go take a break, we've got this."
