Evaluation

This so far is one of my favorite briefs. I have really enjoyed all aspects of it, from taking images and footage to finding the music. I feel that i have learnt a lot about how desaturated colour, transitions and audio can create a mood for a subject genre, which i feel that this could help me in further briefs. I have learnt how to test different ideas before committing myself and checking sizes of fonts and screen resolutions previously commented on in past projects.  I have also taken previous advice on using actual images to help produce a clear visible storyboard. My favorite parts of the whole sequence are, the railway bridge and dead body scenes. They really add the drama factor for me. If i had to change anything it would maybe be the font style. Even though it fits with the research i have done, perhaps  a modern calligraphy font could of been used to bring something a little different.  All in all i am very happy with my end result and feel it has been a interesting four week brief, teaching me to think outside of the box and be more creative.

Audio choice

Even though i like the two, my favourite piece is the art of silence, which again is copyright free. It portrays a sadder, erie contemporary feel, similar to the modern criminal dramas which i have research. Unlike the sad piano which lifts half way through in emotions.

Choice of Audio

I have come down to the choice of two audios. The first is THE ART OF SILENCE, which i have provided before. The second is  Emotional Sad Piano Music | Touch (Download and Royalty FREE). I will put this on to my tumblr for research.

I firstly tried a fade to black between the video footage, but it made the flow and visual it look forced and unnatural. I then thought dont give up try the white!. This produced a smoother transition and added a different aspect to the overall visual. Creating more interest. I now have to make a final decision on the audio.

Through testing this idea, i have found that by using all cross dissolves. I could see the end of the video even though a dissolve was present. I found that on the images it works perfectly, so i will try different fades to create a smoother transition.

I have know added the scenes together and have decided to add in the cross dissolves.

Adding extra time

From looking over my timings, i have discovered that i am 5 seconds short for the length of my chosen audio. I will remedy this with the extra footage and images i have left. Once i have created this missing section, i will place it in the correct position in order for it to flow smoothly. I will also post up my title test.

Example Titles

I have found this interesting visual research on titles. It has definitely pushed me to creating a title that has some form of video footage playing within the text. I also like the effect of the title starting off outside decreasing into the centre of the frame.

Title Ideas

I am thinking of using a reveal type text or a animated video text. This will complement the animated credits.

Test of final scene. This reminds me of psycho!. Creepy door creates instant eerie drama. Next i have to look at title headings for my title end scene. The transition i am thinking of using is fade to black, this will connect to the title page visual.

Quick test in premiere pro 

 I need to add text and check the cross dissolves when all the scenes are together. Final scene and title to go, then i will add in all the files, check and add transitions before the audio is overlay-ed.

Quick test with textures and light in photoshop on a tied hand. The rings show commitment making the image more darker and poignant to the viewer.

Test of acrylic

 I meant to put this acrylic test in before the sauce, but now realized i haven't. It has reinforced that sauce would be the way to go. It has produced a pink tone watery result.

This is nearly what i am looking for. The consistency is nearly there. I feel by adding a spoonful more of sauce it would create the right texture and colour. Also from pouring from a jug, it has produced a smoother flow and a eerie result.
