Snow day! Monday is my pincurls no makeup day often when I prep panels, do litter pans and basically the life stuff that makes the paintings and good hair happen but isn’t the fun part. But, there’s often outside dates and dance parties and sketching and and cat cuddles and break throughs and joys. Viggo told me I needed a facial and my skin felt dry. He was correct.
I wish there was a way to make money doing tutorials and teaching about vintage hair styling, clothing, mending, finding a vintage wardrobe etc but I also wouldn’t want to charge for it. I also wish I had the time or the demand to take more commissions, as I miss painting daily (I do it weekly now) but it’s not to be at the moment.
I’m planning on doing a few simple portraits and taking on commissions 6 months in advance and lovers eyes. I’ve toyed with using patreon for my hair cutting, pincurls and stuff with extremely low cost options that might offset my time. I’m conflicted about that but as life gets more expensive it would be nice.
Speaking of expensive I really really really want an overpriced knit. I’m at war with myself (are we at war again, are my kids going to get drafted? The low hum of constant fear drums in the background and has since 9/11 or maybe always) over it. I try not to encourage vintage sellers who price gauge but....l also am a bit in love lol.
