David Collier – It’s a lucky thing David Collier became a cartoonist. His speaking voice is plain awful. Starting in Grade 3, he was sent to speech therapy sessions, which helped little. His lack of clear diction was apparent, one day, in the office of Hamilton Spectator cartoonist Graeme MacKay. “I’m really interested in the work of Second World War cartoonist, Ding”, Collier said. Mishearing Collier’s garbled words, MacKay replied that the old cartoonist was still alive, in London, Ontario and gave Collier a contact number.
A few weeks later, in London, Collier entered the room of the Old Cartoonist. “I really admire your work, Mr Ding”, Collier told the Old Cartoonist, who had his drawing board and other studio accouterments in his retirement home room.
“My name is Ting, not Ding”, Ting said patiently. “This happens all the time”.
Since that day, Collier has been into the work of Ding AND Ting.

Jamie Jardine was born in Windsor, ON and is the youngest of 5 children. His interest in art began at age 4 and consumed most of his childhood. His first influence was the political cartoons of M.R.Tingly. After seeing much of Canada, a result of his father being an RCMP officer, he returned to London in 1996 to enroll in the Fine Art program at Fanshawe College. Jamie has exhibited his work in London for 15 years. In 2014 he pulled out of the gallery system and retreated to his studio, in south London. He spent this time reevaluating his process and his motivation. Jamie’s primary focus had been landscapes but in recent years he has also explored abstraction. Even more recently, Jamie has revisited many of his earliest ( childhood ) interests and is producing more illustrative works which include early science fiction themes.

JR Faulkner – According to her friends, “Jules barbecues hella good.” Although she may have started her first online comic, Promises Promises in a vain attempt to write off a gym membership as a business expense, she kept it up for six years and produced two volumes in print, Starting Tomorrow and Starting Monday. The newest project, Knight & Dave is a considerable departure from her current work in comics but much closer to her roots in animation where she has spent more than a decade working as an animator, illustrator, designer, storyboard artist, sculptor and teacher on a variety of productions and projects in traditional animation, 2D digital, 3D, stop-motion, games and print.
