Okay but what if older Jearmin and they live together and they're like in their 30's or whatever and Armin, all he does is work and Jean knows Armin won't respond to his fretting so he just leans over his shoulder and kisses his cheek and then sets a cup of coffee beside all of his papers and he tells him goodnight and Armin mutters something in return and when Jean gets up the next day Armin is still going through papers and signing things and Jean sighs and kisses his cheek, replaces his empty cup for a new one, and tells him good morning. He makes Armin breakfast and leaves for work himself, a simple job at target because he hardly qualifies for anything else and the only thing that makes him happy anymore is seeing that Armin ate the breakfast he made him and that he's passed out on his desk and Jean will scoop him up in his arms and take him to bed and they'll cuddle for the rest of the night but Armin will get up around 7 or 9 and go back to work and Jean misses his warmth and they both grow really distant and Jean meets this new guy, Marco, at target and they hit it off and Jean thinks maybe he could go for this guy instead, start new and fresh and this goes on for a few weeks and Jean and Marco kiss but it isn't right but they do it anyways and Jean gets home one night and Armin is sitting up on the couch and he's reading a good book with his glasses perched on their usual spot on his nose, legs kicked back and lamp on and he has an envelope on his stomach and its thick and bulky and Jean doesn't know what to think and the moment Armin hears the door close, he looks up and smiles and said he quit his job so they could spend more time together and Jean just feels a wave of guilt wash over him and he starts crying and Armin drops his book and doesn't ask what's wrong because he's busy kissing away Jean's tears and having to stand on the tips of his toes to reach him and jean is muttering nonsense and Armin just smiles and nods and says 'I know what happened with Marco,' Because of course he does, Eren works at target with him and he and Armin are best friends and Jean just breaks down and traps Armin in a hug and promises he'll fix everything that everything is okay and Armin nods and cries too and they hold each other until they fall asleep on the ground by the couch and they wake up the next morning and laugh like they used to, smile like they used to, and Armin shoves the envelope in Jean's face with a giggle and tells him that was what he was saving up for and it opens it and it's a box, a velvet blue box that he opens and it has a wedding band in it and Armin blurts out the question breathlessly, "Will you marry me?" And Jean says yes over and over and happy endings I guESS

I need a Jearmin AU with Armin being mute and the whole school kind of knows it and ignores him and don't bother talking to him because they don't understand a lick of ASL and they think that him writing something down would take too long but the school has a class for ASL majors and there's this new kid, Jean, and he was never good at the whole school thing and he got really lazy and said yes to the ASL class and as soon as he walked in he understand jack shit about what was going on but Armin was in the seat next to him and he'd hand him notes on what was going on and signs some stuff throughout the class and Jean is like 'wow this kid is pretty cool' and he goes to talk to him after school and Armin blinks hugely at him and then flushes pink and he makes this choked gasping noise and Jean gets all worried and Armin takes out his notebook and further confuses Jean and then writes down that he's mute and Jean just kind of stares blankly even after the late bell rings and Armin's already gone and he doesn't know if he's standing there out of shock or awe and then later on Armin starts tutoring Jean in ASL and it's really cute and Jean isn't really good with some signs when Armin asks him on a date but he does it in ASL and Jean is like 'wait what' and trying to find out but Armin leaves and he meets him in the hallway at school the next day and he's grinning like a dork and he presses a tiny kiss to Armin's forehead and signs that he'd love to go on a date with him and fluffy cute shenanigans ensue and no one di ES
