(I finally remembered my password!) Tino passed away in March 2022. He had developed Wobbler's Syndrome the previous autumn and was progressively getting worse, with medication quickly no longer helping. At his age, surgery wasn't recommended, and any of the options for that could have made him worse instead and would have had a long recovery time. I could have kept him longer, we could still manage the stairs together and go for walks with his Help 'Em Up harness on, but he was an anxious wreck 24/7. He was barely sleeping at all, always stressed about falling and not being able to control his body. We didn't want to leave each other but it felt cruel to let him continue living like that, with no joy in life. My vet's office was wonderful and had someone come to my home, 45 minutes away, so that we didn't make his anxiety even worse in his last moments. My sadness at losing him is still my strongest emotion on a day-to-day basis. Our connection was unparalleled. Even just typing this, I haven't cried this much in a while. I miss him with every cell in my body. I might continue to post photos of him, now that I can use this again. I'm not sure.
Tino went to comic con today :)
After getting his nails done, Tino and I went to Evolution Brewery in Salisbury, MD, for some yummy dinner :) He appreciated the big bowl of ice water they brought out for him!
Tino and his older half-sister. This is the first time Tino has decided to cuddle up against another dog since my vizsla girl passed away nearly 5 years ago.
Lure coursing in June.
I set up an egg hunt for Tino at my Dad’s :) Once he figured out what the eggs were, he found all of them on his own, even the ones in bushes and trees!
Life with boys. Steve does this all the time. Tino will sniff something, lift his leg to pee, and then Steve comes rushing over to sniff, too, always going between his legs and getting peed on.
Tino recently got a new bed. He loves how tiny it is. His favorite spot is to curl up on it while it’s on the sofa.
All of the Petco stores did this “Champion at Heart Dog Show” thing today as a run-up to Westminster, sponsored by Purina. Dogs had to trot in a circle, sit, stay, come, and then do a trick of the owner’s choice. Tino got 2nd place out of 9 dogs :) His girlfriend, June, got first for her awesome limping trick. The employees took photos of everyone and printed out the photo of Tino & June for her owner and I.

If anyone happens to be looking for some Ibizan art ;) The wonderful Amy Spittle did a portrait of Tino for me and has a version of it for sale as a print in her Etsy shop! https://www.etsy.com/listing/506592995/ibizan-hound-art-print-ibizan-hound
<3 Ears. The other dog is my vizsla.
Sometimes you’re too tall to go down the kiddie slide.
Tino is very helpful.
