Last year I started guerilla gardening on an overgrown planter the city didn't tend to. Now I am an official volunteer with the community association yay!
I took out some grass and planted hairy goldenrod and blue stem golden rod.
This year, the community association of the neighbourhood gave me "official permission" (still unsure how much power they actually have over that since they were telling me about all the illegal planting they do lmao) to take care of it so this blog is to document its growth :)
I am purposefully planting aggressive spreaders so they keep each other in check. There's also no garden in the street they can spread to. Too much concked kreet around. I am using plants grown from seed from the local native seed library.
A picture from last year of a lil bee enjoying the goldenrod I put in.
