These days, famine is spreading throughout the Gaza Strip. The fourth day without any food in my tent that was worn out by the sun. My brothers, my children, cannot move. They only curse this unjust life. They only curse all the people who do not know mercy. Yes, do not be shocked. My mother needs a lot of medicine, but unfortunately there is no medicine. Even the sick have no hope left. They have nothing left but to wish for death as soon as possible, or perhaps suicide. Life is very harsh. Gaza alone, oh world, oh people, we can't bear it anymore, do something, I beg you, do anything, anything, don't just look at us and cry, please donate before it's too late, our hearts bleed more every day, every hour that passes, every minute a person dies in Gaza, the more time passes, the more death there is, even if we think about leaving Gaza to another country, the amount of money I have is not enough because my family is large and the crossing is closed now, so if you have some money you can spend it on my family, my brothers, my sick mother and father, I beg you who read this, donate without hesitation (50 Euros = save a child)

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.
SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.
Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Hello, I’m Farah. Since the war started on October 7th, my family and I have faced severe hardships. We first sought safety in Gaza but had to move to Khan Yunis on October 13th, where we lived in a cramped UNRWA shelter for three months with inadequate food, water, and sanitation. Despite being in a UNRWA facility, we endured bombings and a siege, leading to our evacuation.

My name is Lubna Alajrami, and I am a devoted mother from Gaza. At 30 years old, I cherish my three beautiful children: Eline, aged 7, Kinda, 2, and my precious son, Nasser, who is 4 years old.
Amidst this dire situation, my heart aches for my son, Nasser, who at 4 years old, grapples with a thyroid condition and stunted growth. We lack the means to provide him with medical treatment and the most basic necessities, such as diapers and milk. Urgent medical attention is imperative, but our current circumstances are beyond our reach. We need to travel to Egypt to seek medical treatment for Nasser; however, the fees required from the Egyptian side to cross the borders are very high, £ 4000 for adults and £2000 for kids.
My family, including my husband, three kids, and I once led a content and joyous life in the North of Gaza. However, the onset of war-shattered our dreams, our home, and our means of sustenance. Today, we find ourselves with nothing but the fragments of what was once our life.
During the war on Gaza, we lost our business and our source of livelihood
Allow me to share with you the stark reality we face. With the outbreak of conflict, we sought refuge in the south, settling in Deer Albalah, clinging to the hope of safety until the storm of war abated. Yet, our reality is now a tent in a refugee camp devoid of basic amenities. Our living space is confined, lacking toilets, kitchens, and even access to clean water and electricity. For six gruelling months, we've endured the harshness of our circumstances, battling not only the physical challenges but also the pervasive illnesses that haunt the refugee camp. All these conditions directly affected my son Nasser's health for the worst. It breaks my heart to see my child suffering and needing medical aid while I have nothing I can do.
Hence, I implore your kindness and generosity in support of our case. This fundraiser aims to secure medical treatments for Nasser. Therefore, we need to travel to Egypt to seek medical treatment for him. However, I can't leave my other children; we must travel together. This fund will support our evacuation from Gaza to have medical treatment for my son, covering travel expenses, the necessary entry fees into Egypt, temporary shelter, and essential provisions for our survival until we can rebuild our lives.
Our goal is ambitious but essential: £16,000. This sum will provide us with fees for medical treatment for Nasser, £2000, and £14,000 to pay the Egyptian side for arranging our leave to Egypt for five persons: me, my husband, and our three kids.

it really hurts me to see so many gazans asking us for help, though that's through no fault of their own. they've been forced to use a social media site that they're probably not familiar with (because tumblr has kind of faded out of popular consciousness), to interact with us in a second language, to distinguish themselves from the scammers who are taking advantage of genocide, and to ask strangers for help. i don't think there are any cultures where it's easy to ask for help like this, but i'm intimately familiar with how humiliating it can be in arab culture. please be kind, gracious and helpful to the gazans in your inbox. this is a desperate time for them, and in addition to the physical danger inflicted by "israel", the prices of basic resources in gaza are extremely high due to scarcity, and those that manage to escape to egypt are financially exploited by landlords there and have an extremely difficult time finding work due to their unofficial status as refugees. these families will continue to need our help and i hope we can all continue to provide it to the best of our ability.

for real i am actually INCREDIBLY picky about what songs are permitted on The Writing Playlist.
they must be jaunty and fast tempoed, but not too dancey (Dot the dragon's eyes on BARELY qualified under this criteria, and it goes in the middle of the playlist because if i start with it i will get dancey). no words, but vocalization is acceptable. songs that build to impressive crescendos are prioritized, as are songs longer than 4 minutes (transitions between songs break my concentration)
as you can see this is not actually all that long of a playlist due to these exacting criteria, so i loop it lol
