Replied to a recent comment on a fic that I wrote years ago and then took the time to revisit previous comments and I say this with complete sincerity:

Leaving a comment on a fic provides compounding delight. Authors will love initially receiving a comment, will love later recalling this and that particular aspect of a comment, and they will love rereading comments and being reminded how readers enjoyed the work.

Comments are not a one-time act of kindness and consideration. They keep giving.

My answer turned out kinda long… so I’ll start with this…

tl;dr: i’ve been writing since 7 years old but haven’t been writing faithfully until about 4 years ago when I started writing in fandom

It depends on what you mean by “writing”. When I was 7, I would fold construction paper in half, staple the middle to make books. Then draw pictures and write stories. Usually i would do 2 pages and then want to start a new one 🤣

When I was 11 I started hand-writing a chapter book. I got about 90 pages in before I lost the binder it was in (no, I don’t want to talk about it, i’m still devastated by this! 😭)

In high school I finished my first book. It is garbage. It exists on a flashdrive and will never see the light of day.

I started doing national novel writing month in college. I wrote a couple books. Nothing spectacular that will ever be read by anyone. I also took a creative writing class as an elective. I took a break during med school but started writing a bit towards the end, but not much.

It wasn’t until my 2nd year of my medical residency (about 3-4yrs ago) that I started writing in fandom and writing became a more consistent part if my life

As some of you may know, I am initially a Dramione reader who fell into the Tomione rabbit hole (thank you, Reddit!) and never bothered leaving it.

So, I thought it would be nice to spread the love by showcasing the works of our lovely authors, especially those who have yet to be truly discovered. As such, I'm thinking of this formula starting this month:

Monday Minis: completed fics below 15,000 word count.

WIP Wednesday: current works in progress.

Cozy Sunday: completed fics above 15,000 word count.

These will be based on works of fiction I have read or are sitting patiently in my TBR, but if you want to suggest one, don't be shy and shoot me an Ask! I will also be cross-posting these posts on my IG @WanderessWonder.
