ASK RULES:
Since this SOMEWHAT functions as an ask blog for Tip The Ferrymen, there needs to be some ground rules for how those asks work. So here they are:
Do keep in mind that NOTHING here is strictly canon unless it shows up in the comic itself! Webcomics change a lot due to the long amount of time it takes to finish them, so take everything with a grain of salt! If something here contradicts a later comic page, then it’s not canon.
Asks can be sent to any characters who have appeared in the comic proper! Asks will likely be keeping up with the chronology of Tip The Ferrymen itself.
No NSFW! I’m totally fine with haha funny jokes but I’m not gonna be answering asks in character or out of character about the casts sex lives LMFAO.
This isn’t a roleplay blog so don’t try to RP with any of the characters
The obvious no bigotry etc etc etc y'all know how to behave
I can’t answer spoiler-y questions. I love being all ominous and vague but if you ask “HEY XYZ WHATS YOUR BIGGEST SECRET” I’m not gonna answer it.
All triggers will be tagged! If you need anything more specific tagged, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Don’t spam! This will result in a block. I have no requirement to get to every single ask sent in, please respect that.
hey guys! so bc of tumblrs climate i'm currently unsure if i should keep hosting tip the ferrymen on tumblr. obvs this might have some bias to it given this is where im posting This poll, but this is my main platform in general so its kinda bound to happen lol
the one thing im most concerned with is the image IDs for ferrymen. at present, tumblr is the only host i have that allows accessible versions of the pages to be posted. i can, of course, mess around with the coding for my host site and get image IDs on there-- something i frankly should have had in the first place, and i apologize for not doing so immediately-- it might just take some time.
edit: i should state that whether or not i continue hosting on tumblr, image ids WILL be added to the main website
so i wanted to poll everyone on a quick thing:
Should I continue hosting Ferrymen on tumblr?
Continue hosting on Tumblr
Continue hosting on Tumblr UNTIL Image IDs are transferred to tiptheferrymen.com
Do not host on Tumblr anymore and find a different 3rd platform
Do not host on Tumblr and keep it to Tapas and tiptheferrymen.com
wanted to give nathan some forearm crutches along w/ his usual prosthetic, started tossing around the idea that he modified his lantern to turn into crutches! Here's some little concept doodles for that + how it works
not 100% on these yet though. feedback is always appreciated of course!
here's some little panel previews from the first 2 pages of the upcoming bonus comic!!!
"PARANATHAN: The Lost Pilot" is a Tip The Ferrymen bonus episode about, what else, the lost pilot of Nathan Vargas's old ghost hunting show ParaNathan. Someone (or something) has been haunting the woods nearby the Vargas's cabin, and Nathan is determined to track 'em down!
while we're on hiatus im putting together a sketchy b/w bonus ep about nathans old ghost hunting show!! put together a lil ref for the b/w color schemes for the vargas twins + ways to continuously hide wilburs face until he shows up in the comic proper lol
i feel the need to also make it known that we tossed around the idea of changing the name of eli's company to "SpecEx" before ch5 started and it was too late to change it
so a little fun fact about ferrymen is that the whole "magic" system with specs used to work a little different. at some point the idea of "fusing" specs was thrown around, just combining powers with someone else to create a new power. and since spec's powers are based on words, the fusions would make phrases! like wilbur and nathan would be "Spirit Guide", pretty straight forward given their specs tbh.
but like the only one that got REALLY fleshed out beyond that was nathan and mai's fusion! i never got a name for it down but Spirit/Vibes basically created a power that let you see someone's true spirit, allowing mai to see ghosts clearly and nathan to read any spirit's emotional state with 100% clarity.
the concept got axed pretty quickly so there's only one piece of concept art for this, but i think it's pretty fun!
the idea was that this abstract sketchy style was how nathan and mai were seeing through this new power, basically revealing someone's "true" spirit represented by how they saw/felt about themselves.
this later translated into how mai's spec is illustrated today, with changes of course but i just think thats a fun lil part of ferrymens production
[ ID: Several sketches of Joey from Tip The Ferrymen, most of which are of him with a starry-eyed expression. Save for the last one, which is a cartoonishy exaggerated doodle of Joey putting his fingers to his temples and trying to focus on something. End ID. ]
starting this blog off right with some VERY GOOD joeys from upcoming pages
