I think every MBA needs some kind of arts major to follow them around critiquing them like a court jester.
Being a calm, gentle, non-reactive person is really hard work, which is probably why many people are none of these things. Personally I think itâs worth it but sometimes one does want to just roll around on the floor wailing at the top of oneâs lungs
People in my notes who think Iâm repressed or dissociating: you will feel better when you learn emotions are not a binary of Not Feeling It vs Being Overwhelmed By It
Polycules should be able to trade people like sports teams do
Listen -- you're a good defender and your pussy is fantastic, but that's not what our team needs right now. We're trading you to Greater Boston in exchange for someone who has a car.
do dogs even know how stupidly baby's they are?

Me: Fuck, the paper towels I want are on the top shelf.

Sir David Attenborough, pleasantly: Success.
I heard the blue jays quarrel today, their sullen cacophony more a sign of the changed season than even the beaded beams of light which slipped stealthily through the tree limbs. They lit my morning sojourn as I swiftly trod on feet whose soles carried much more than just my weight three times around the diamond and square grass fields. Once, to waken my body and eyes to the day. Twice, to weed and air out the spaces in my mind. And then the third, to wear all of me into a submission that only the bitterest scents of coffee and sweet cream are able to undo. Into this all too brief tryst with nature flew those blue jays, their querulous notes shredding my reverie quicker than the pedestrians do with their out-of-place smiles and hellos. While I searched in vain for the cat or creature who had awoken their wrath, part of me imagined them as the priests and clergy of a great, open temple, their angry cries cursing away sinners and screaming repentance. Still, blue jays, coffee and sunlight make for a far easier summer religion than any I have previously tried or known.
cleaning along desire paths
Fantastic advice!! And something Iâve realized Iâve been doing for myself these last 6-7 years, even though I never had a name for it.
Seriously, this is such a great way to go about organizing your home.
I really canât express how much easier your life can be when you accept that thereâs no objectively right way to do this kind of stuff, especially when you let go of the idea that itâs a moral failure when you canât do something the âcorrect wayâ nor is it evidence of you being lazy.
Working with (leaning into) your natural limits and instincts can do wonders for you in your day-to-day life.
It's your house. Make it work for you, don't work to an imaginary standard that doesn't serve you.
