write with me, cowards....
my hair is VERY soft and could EASILY be played with and you know how many people are playing with my hair??? zero
helen is always careful with the way she talks to her patients. she has a solid sense of humor but she knows that different people react to different things so if she comes off as cold, she is not that at all. she's very powerful when it comes to a verbal match against another and when it comes to the care of her patients, she's very protective.
anyways im mixing 616 vibes with mcu. she's still a world renowned geneticist. she was still married. she still has her kids and her HQ is still in Seoul, South Korea. her husband is deceased and she still keeps her children close to her and regularly checks up on them. she wears her marriage ring around her neck because she often works with her hands and she's so scattered around that she loses things.
she's 5'10.... a tall....... a tall we trust...
the fact that she named her children amadeus and madam marie curie....... that was her galaxy brain at work and we love it!
dr. helen cho is running the avengers compound in upstate new york and my girl is so smart........ also im rewriting aou because mind control on helen? ugly. marvel can kiss my ass with that.

helen cho and betty ross get together over food and drinks to trash marvel for forgetting them.
big disclaimer time: dr. helen cho is korean. i am not. i'm a white girl from new york ( technically boston ) so whatever you see here has been researched. i will try my best to include links in the bottom of any post and if you want to share anything with me or anything that you feel needs to be known about dr. cho? please do. she's incredible and i really want to make sure that i do my best when it comes to depicting her.
Pro tip: You don’t really understand someone’s bio? No clue about that character? You want to know more about the muse? You have difficulties figuring out how to make your muses interact because it’s an OC?
Let the mun of the blog tell you about their character.
Most people will get super excited when people ask questions about their muse, and they will happily tell you everything you want to know. You will not only get the information you wanted, you also made someone very happy because people are interested in their muse, and you’re on a good way of making a new friend and create a lovely relationship between your muses.
Ultron: I could’ve killed you, Helen, the night we met. I didn’t. Helen: Do you expect a thank you note?
just to reiterate
you can’t have a conversation about helen and amadeus cho without discussing their asianness. you can’t have a discussion of helen and amadeus cho without discussing amadeus cho being first-gen american-born, second-gen diasporic. you can’t have a conversation about helen and amadeus cho without acknowledging the very specific cross-cultural experiences that they would have, experiences that would not necessarily be the same between them because of differences in identity.
ignoring the very specific experience of helen and amadeus cho - experiences that are entirely shaped by their korean, asian, immigrant, diasporic, american, and other identities - in conversations about these characters is nothing short of erasure, and it does these characters a complete disservice.
(and also - the same goes for the other asian characters in the mcu btw)
like i’m thinking about it, and literally, i can’t think of one time when a conversation about helen and amadeus cho would not involve their race and experience. especially if conversations involve a discussion of sexism. especially if we want to talk about how helen cho is treated by fandom.
and like at the same time, like i understand how non-asians talking about a diasporic-korean-american lived experience re: helen and amadeus cho could end in disaster, white allies talking for and over asian people, and generally stepping outside of their lane, so there is room for nuance here
but just basic acknowledgment of internationally is important. 90% of the posts i see talking about helen cho, ESPECIALLY if they are about helen and amadeus cho, completely ignore their identities. and that’s not right. this isn’t how we have conversations of the treatment of characters.
