Magic Describes The Hotel. (And Furfur clarifies for mortals)
Got peer pressured into finally posting my art here after 5 years
Here’s Kazimir my silly little dnd (though he’s a lot more now) oc. I actually drew this over a year ago and haven’t posted it anywhere, but I want to yap about him because I love this deranged man so much. If anyone actually cares keep reading for a lore dump.
~
Kazimir is the god of light, day, and the sun. He was actually born a human mortal, only obtaining his power by stealing it from the previous goddess of light and his former lover. My guy took his god complex to the next level and literally became a god.
Just from that you can tell he’s absolutely terrible. He’s incredibly narcissistic, manipulative, and power hungry. He will stop at nothing to get what he wants. There’s almost nothing redeemable about him whatsoever but that’s what makes him so fun and interesting to me. He doesn’t have the standard tragic villain backstory that forces you to sympathize with him but he’s also not just evil for the sake of being evil. He is very much a product of his environment.
Kazimir grew up in a standard middle class family, his father was a lawyer and his mother a successful realtor. Besides a brief period in the beginning of his life, before learned to mask the more unsavory parts of his personality, he had a decent relationship with his parents. They may have been strict and rather traditional, but they were loving. At least he views it that way. His sister tells a different story, but that’s only because she’s bitter that his parents loved him more than her. If she had simply denied every part of herself, including her sexuality, then she probably would’ve received the same amount of love. Maybe then she wouldn’t have turned to drugs and been kicked out at 18.
Despite what Kaz would tell you, his sister’s story clearly reflects the fact parents were raging narcissists who viewed their children as extensions of themselves. As long as their kids acted exactly how they wanted them to act they were extremely loving. And Kaz quickly learned how to be the perfect child for them. They adored him, and spoiled him rotten.
He followed in his father’s footsteps he went to law school, earning his law degree at 25. Being extremely studious and hard working he immediately excelled in his career as a prosecutor. His life was pretty much smooth sailing, most people would envy him, he was smart, handsome and successful. Outwardly he presented himself as a beacon of justice for the community, a deeply caring man who fought for what was right and protected the community. Internally though he was restless and dissatisfied, finding almost everyone around him to be incompetent and inferior. He often fantasized about tormenting others both physically and psychologically. He was painfully aware that these thoughts were not acceptable however, so he buried them as much as he could. He’s terrifying good at putting on whatever act serves him best in the moment.
Of course a constant performance, even one that he’d convinced himself was real would inevitably wear him down. Even someone as amazing as Kazimir still needed connection. It’s quite lonely being on the top rung of the ladder all by yourself. Eventually he came across an ancient relic. The second he saw it at an auction he knew he needed it. As it turned out this relic contained access to the goddess of light, Luxora, allowing him to communicate with her.
Finally Kazimir, had someone who he felt was an equal, someone he could actually connect with, someone else at atop the pedestal that understood the solitude that came with being superior. (Even though Luxora was a literal Goddess and Kazimir was just. Some guy.)
She ended up taking a liking to him, I mean, he was incredibly smart, insightful, and handsome, not to mention that he treated her like an equal, a friend, something she wasn’t used to from mortals. So for the next few years the two grew close. She would lend him some of her abilities, in order to help other mortals and bring light to them. She also prolonged his life, slowing down his aging and keeping his appearance youthful.
She told him things no mortals were supposed to know, including the existence of a special dagger designed to kill her sister Umbra, the goddess of darkness, night and the moon. It was part of a set, and her sister owned the other dagger, one that was capable of killing her. It was the only way either of them could die. They had sworn to never use them on each other, but she admitted to being scared that her sister would not keep to her promise. She trusted him enough to tell him that, she truly believed he was a good person, and maybe at one point he was.
But the subtle feeling of emptiness returned, and he once again found himself restless and wanting more. For years he’d been at Luxora’s side, helping to carry out her godly duties, yet he wasn’t one. He wanted to work alongside her, to leave the mortal realm and become what he believed he was always meant to be; a God.
This however, was not possible, as Luxora told him. Not only would it be against the rules, but his mortal body wouldn’t be able to handle it. It would slowly break down over the years and he’d be completely destroyed by it. She said she had already given him as much as she could without it hurting him. This answer did not satisfy Kazimir though. He didn’t believe that his body couldn’t handle it, he was meant to be a god. How could his own lover stop him from what was so clearly his destiny? He continually pressed the issue and Lux admitted while all of what she said was true— it wasn’t allowed and it would be incredibly dangerous for him— she also couldn’t give him goodhood without her dying.
She wouldn’t be able to be with him if she gave him all her power. Kazimir said he understood and what was more important to him was being with her, not the power. Poor Luxora believed him. Perhaps at some point that had been true. Now, however, the only person he’d ever felt a true connection with didn’t even seem to matter when compared with the chance to become a literal God.
Soon after he made that promise however he sought out Umbra. He made his way to her, armed with Luxora’s dagger he had stolen, incase Umbra was unwilling to give him the other dagger. But Umbra was more than willing to give the dagger to him, having been forced into her sister’s shadow since they had been created. She gave him the dagger needed to kill Luxora. (And a little something else iykwim ;) because if planning to kill your girlfriend wasn’t already bad enough, why not also cheat on her with her sister? Also yes this is blatantly and unapologetically inspired by Celestia and Luna from MLP)
So the next night while Luxora was sleeping next to Kazimir, he quietly pulled out Umbra’s dagger from where he had hidden it, stabbing her through the heart while she was sleeping.
She woke up immediately, meeting Kazimir’s eyes as the man she loves hovered over her, watching her die. He demanded her divinity. After nearly 30 years together he decided power was worth more to him than love.
Of course she was incredibly betrayed, the last thing she wanted to do in her dying moments was give her killer anything. Her killer, who had played the part her loving partner up until that very moment. To give so much power to a man who clearly valued nothing but himself, she couldn’t do that! But Umbra told Kazimir exactly what to say.
‘Give your power to me or light will cease to exist. Do you want that?’
With no other options besides letting the world plunge into eternal darkness, she gave up her power. All of it. She would rather give it to someone, anyone— even that backstabbing lying asshole— than to let light fade from the world.
Though of course what she said about his mortal body not being able to handle it all was true. He’s left with burning scars on his face and chest where the light breaks open his skin and shines through the cracks. But hey, being a god is totally worth the constant agony of being cooked from the inside out!
So yeah that’s the basic lore, there’s also over a year’s worth of dnd campaign and other rp shenanigans now, plus a few AU versions but this is already so long and no one even asked. But if you actually read this and want to talk to me about him I will love you forever.
I visted a Titan Realm! It was insane and cool and kind of scary but super awesome. And there was a really cute guy there... his names Kazimir and hes a light god. I know light and void dont mix but... you dont understand how hot he is. I want him to step on me.
I hate my job so much. Sure boss, leave the mortal criminal to deal with the Titan Cop on his own! Sure I won't mind trying to hide your illegal brother. Someone give me a break.
I fear I am still thinking about this rp interaction. So here's some more quotes.
The cop can literally kill him in 0.001 seconds and hes just like 'okay now fuck off'
The cop finishes with him, gives him a letter and menacingly tells him his home is under watch. And Fur just goes "Oh youre still here? Why? Leave quicker." The audacity. The uncaring attitude. The 'I know youre not gonna kill me and I dont actually care if I'm wrong' of it. Hes my favorite sometimes.
When his boss shows up he basically just goes 'fuck you for not having my back'
I hate my job so much. Sure boss, leave the mortal criminal to deal with the Titan Cop on his own! Sure I won't mind trying to hide your illegal brother. Someone give me a break.
