Jumping onto a metaphorical grenade is very admirable. I’ve simply started carrying an extra pair clothes with me at all times, should I find myself at the receiving end of what the football team likes to call a sneak attack. However, with all the.. controversy surrounding Glee club, are you sure Coach Tanaka is all right with you joining? He doesn’t seem to like us very much.

The people who matter will listen. Those who don’t won’t deserve the effort or breaths.

I don’t think he’s happy, but I don’t think anything is going to make Coach happy at the end of the day. We’re not winning no matter how hard he tries to get us to win and I’m just kind of losing the drive to keep pushing forward there - especially when there’s no reward. I love football don’t get me wrong, it’s my favorite thing but he can’t expect a bunch of us to stay if we aren’t getting what we work hard for.

I think it’s very admirable of him, if nothing else. Sometimes I wish there were a mentor-esque figure for me to follow behind, but I’ve come to learn I’m much better suited to do things on my own.

It truly does mean a lot, Ryder. I know that it may seem easy to try and do the right thing, but the fact that you’re willing to go to the bat for people you don’t know very well speaks to your morals, and your character. It’s nice to know that, at the very least, there’s another person willing to help me wash the purple dye off my sweater when the day inevitably comes.

Hey, maybe you’ll end up being that mentor for someone else.

My mom and dad always taught me to do the right thing even if the right thing doesn’t have the best outcome. Being a good person is more important than anything else at the end of the day - so yeah. You’ll totally have someone to help clean up the slushy on your sweater. But like I’ll definitely try to intercept it if I can. Letterman jackets get dry cleaned so I don’t feel so bad if it gets dirty, ya know?

I don’t really get the point of football. Or why there are two different sports called that, when the reason one of them is called that is because you play on your feet. That’s like calling bowling pinball. Or like, football and hockey the same thing because they both have a Puck.

Football doesn’t have a puck... unless you’re talking about Puckerman? Then I guess that makes sense. I think there’s also different spellings for football when you’re talking about it in the soccer sense. I think.

Really? That’s very sweet! I’m sure he appreciates people looking up to him. As the quarterback, and the most popular boy in school, he sort of sets the standard of how people should act. I only wish more people followed in his footsteps.

Yes, well. Just because something should happen a certain way, doesn’t mean it will. On more than one occasion, I’ve dealt with that very hypocrisy. Logic doesn’t always work when you try to apply it with people that refuse to understand, but that could be an issue for a later date.

Yeah, he’s a good guy to follow in the footsteps of, I think. I appreciate him kinda taking me under his wing that way. 

I know promises don’t mean that much, but like, I promise to stand up for any kind of hypocrisy stuff that goes on in the club if I get in. I know what it’s like to be made fun of for stuff that’s out of your control and just because you like music and performing and being the best at it doesn’t mean you can’t be the most awesome self you can be.

I.. suppose you have a point. I’m certainly not above extending an olive branch and lending my expertise to those who need it. While they’re vocals are merely good enough, with lessons from yours truly, they could become unstoppable alongside the rest of us. I guess I’m just a little weary, is all. Perhaps Mr. Schuester will take notice sooner rather than later, and instate something akin to a no bullying polcy beyond the choir room doors.

He’s kinda like the total reason I joined the football team. He’s the coolest. Makes things look super cool and effortless.

I think the no bullying policy will be smart, but also would they really have a reason to bully you if they’re also in the Glee club? Seems a bit uh... the word... hypocritical  - yeah there we go. Hypocritical.

I swear, if we don’t win this week’s game I think I’m going to try out for the Cheerios, just so I can get a win under my belt before graduation. And cause I wouldn’t mind having an excuse to hold on to Santana’s ass on school grounds. Actually, Cheerios is starting to sound pretty baller all around.

Coach Tanaka doesn’t take any criticism on how he does things which is totally frustrating because it’s the reason the team loses so much.

I try to avoid her as much as possible. You’re right though, she’s terrifying and I don’t want to mess with that. Ever. I almost didn’t try out for the team because I knew she had more power over football than Tanaka does basically.

He struggled with his initial decision, but I think his passion for performing is slowly overtaking his compulsive need to be the most popular boy in school. Not that being in Glee club is truly ruining that reputation of his, but I suppose that – when you’re the captain of the football team – you have other things to worry about.

I don’t doubt their talent – well, no, I do. But, I’m more or less worried about their attitudes. This club is meant to be a safe space for people like myself, and Mercedes, and Tina. With them in the mix, I fear the integrity of the New Directions could hang in the balance.

That’s pretty awesome. Finn is the greatest and I know he just wants everything to work out seamlessly. 

I know it’s a super weird thing, since a lot of us ( ugh I hate saying that because I’m not one of them ) who made the life hell for most of you is coming into the club, but I think maybe they need that safe space more than you think. We all deserve a fair chance at the end of the day, yeah? Show that even if they couldn’t embrace you guys at first, you can embrace them right away.
