((also, big daddy is feeling MUCH better.))
OOC:
Has noone been in the chat box, or is my computer just being a fuck?
((i think it's fucked up, lmfao. everything is blank and it's like i'm in a white void.))
((sorry for not being on top of things. i'm getting over strep throat and have been feeling like pure, concentrated, unadulterated shit. love, big daddy.))
Poppy wobbles a bit as he lifts the heavy anchor and holds tightly onto his metal armor. “Oh, it’s fine, really.” The Yordle never was this high up before, at least no other times that she could remember at the moment. She takes in the view from her new perspective and searches for the road they need to travel on. Spotting it, she nods in its direction and says, “I have a forge that way, and we can travel on this road.” She points down a path going westward. “It’s about a mile or two away. You can walk that far right?”
"Two miles is definitely no problem..."
The endless march... With his new body came new strengths... With several drawbacks. He no longer needed food or water to survive. While he wasn't immortal, Nautilus could take a large amount of punishment, far much more than any human. Fatigue didn't overcome him. He outright refused to rest... He didn't need it anyway. Constantly moving, constantly working... All part of his plan to find the men who cursed him. All at the cost of losing his memory and no longer being able to taste, touch, and smell.
With an unsettling creaking sound, Nautilus began his short journey down the path that Poppy had shown him. Large footprints were left in his wake. Aside from the creaking from his suit and the occasional thump his feet made against the ground, it was silent.
"You... Work with metal. Do you work alone? With... Family, perhaps?"
((OOC))
((Came on DekarAnivia today to work on a post, and then I see the dashboard. WHY DOES MY DASH HAVE A MILLION GIFS OF ONE DIRECTION. I MADE SURE I ONLY FOLLOWED LEAGUE BLOGS. WHAT IS THIS. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE.))
((no, no, it's not just you. by chance, would the tumblr in question happen to be http://nialler-network.tumblr.com/ that? because i had this person on my dashboard. what most likely happened is that someone joined the rp group and quit, then used the tumblr account for a 1D blog.))
“Hmm…answers…” she repeats softly to herself. “I understand, some champions join the league seeking answers. What kind of—” She stops abruptly and shakes her head. “I apologize, I am being too nosy.” She rubs the back of her neck as a few seconds of awkward silence pass. “Whatever kind of answers you are searching for, I hope that you will find them.”
Worried that she would make the conversation too personal for Nautilus, Poppy quickly decides to change the subject. “About that metal suit, yes. I don’t mind fixing it any time, especially now that I have few commissions to work on.” The Yordle looks up and down at the Titan’s metal suit, inspecting it and muttering notes that she would remember when working on his armor. “If anything, it may be best for me to inspect the damage now, before it worsens.”
The silence between the two had felt like hours. His... 'accident'... While its details were something that he was determined to find, speaking of it wasn't his favorite thing to do. Keeping his grip on the anchor, he finally decided to speak once more.
"Well then... If the repairs can be made now, then let it be done. If you need access to your tools, I can take you there... If you show me the path."
What he tried to do next looked more like a balancing act than anything else. Nautilus let go of the anchor with one hand, managing to keep Poppy steady. "Please pardon me... for not asking," came the titan's voice as he picked up the yordle from her seat and placed her up on his shoulder. "Keep yourself balanced while..."
With that, Nautilus grabbed onto his anchor with both hands, lifting the heavy metal up and onto its usual resting place on his free shoulder.
"There we go. I suppose we can leave now... If you wish."
“Keep you away from the Institute? Well… it’s not like my workplace is very close to the Institute, but if I am not being too intrusive, why do you want to be away?” The Institute became one of the Yordle’s homes which she feels comfortable staying in, despite the building also housing champions she detests. Unless a champion was troubling another, she couldn’t see why someone wouldn’t want to reside in the Institute. “Is there someone or something troubling you?” Her face expresses her concern and sympathy for the Titan; she already began to trust him due to his kindhearted nature.
A deep laugh followed after Poppy's concern as Nautilus shook his head.
"No, no... It's not so much that I want to keep away from the Institute... But rather... They grow tired of me, I assume. I am always here when I am not out on the fields. Occasionally I work, a bit of heavy lifting, for example... But other than that, nothing. It wouldn't be a surprise... if the Institute considers me a pest after demanding... Answers."
He really always was at the Institute. It was frustrating to have answers, practically dangling in your face, only to have them denied with no real reason. He was told to figure it out himself. Similar to solving a half finished jigsaw puzzle with only one piece in his hand, he needed other pieces that weren't as easily available. Instead of having them in a box conveniently in front of him, they were scattered... Everywhere.
"Aside from that, no one here really... Troubles or phases me, to say the least, with the exception of a select few." Addressing the yordle again, he 'shut' his eyes for a moment. The glow soon returned afterward.
"It's easy to stay out of trouble when you don't have any reason to cause it yourself."
(well, that's a great recipe for PISS ME OFF. i fucking lost a reply to poppy. i'm so sorry, i'll get back to typing that up...)
Having heard many loud and earsplitting sounds in her workshop, Poppy hears the creaks but is barely bothered by the noise. “Oh, thank you, very much. That would help.” The yordle is surprised by his kindness, but is grateful nonetheless. She dips her head politely before climbing carefully onto her new platform. “My neck would have began hurt sooner or later,” she adds, rubbing the back of her neck. “But if you are getting tired, please let me know.”
The view is different from where she stands now. Nearly face to face with the Titan, she looks at him in the “eye” and softly clears her throat before attempting to speak. Despite the almost-closed gap between their difference in height, Nautilus still seems a bit intimidating to her. A few moments pass before she finally speaks. “If that is armor that is creaking, I can help mend it and stop it from making any further noise,” is her attempt to start a small chat with the giant Titan.
"I suppose it would help... Not only to fix the issue, but to keep me away from the Institute."
Nautilus only stayed at the Institute because he demanded answers. He did work when he was asked, but otherwise, he spent his time doing... Well, nothing. Nothing, and being summoned out to the fields. It wasn't often that someone came to talk to him.
The titan turned his head to the best of his abilities, coming to the conclusion that, yes, his iron body was in bad condition. Rust, dents in the suit... Very bad condition indeed. He returned his attention to Poppy.
"If you don't... Mind mending it, that is. It can wait, if that's what you prefer. If not, then feel free to give an alternative."
(sorry for me being late on replies. i just woke up not too long ago and i've had class work to do. i'll get on it, anivia and poppy.)
Looking down with Poppy's instruction, he found the tiny ambassador. Size difference would pose to be a problem if they he wanted to continue on with their tiny chat. A little bit of effort on Nautilus' part would fix the issue immediately.
"Excuse me."
Nautilus had lifted his anchor from up off its usual perch on his shoulder, holding the very large piece of metal horizontally in both of his hands. Politely, he kneeled down and held out the anchor towards Poppy. Even on his knees, he still towered over her. Hopefully the ambassador didn't mind the sound of creaking metal. It came with just about every move he made.
"This should compensate for the... Size difference between us. Don't worry, I can hold onto this for prolonged periods of time. I can assure you, you will not fall."
((does anybody want to roleplay with me...? i'm feeling really lonely over here.))
(yo lil mamma let me whisper in yo ear.)
(i'm a pretty lonely nautilus over here.)
(check all dat shipping on my dash.)
(can i come too? you know you want a piece of nautilus unf)
a chat outside the institute. (FIELDS OF JUSTICE OPEN RP.)
Nautilus had noticed her approach, he greeted her, so she responded in kind to let him know she had no ill will, “Hello, Nautilus.” She remembered about how Nautilus told her he had no hobbies and wondered to herself how he dealt with the day.
She had not been seeking out Nautilus, but instead wandering in order to clear her mind, often like she did at home in Ionia in the halls of the Placidium. She’d always seen Nautilus around the halls of the Institute, as if he never traveled anywhere else— thought it was understandable as to the why of that train of thought.
“Are you doing well, Nautilus?” The question was almost rhetorical, it was simply small talk to the Ionian. It would not bother Irelia in the slightest if he chose to ignore it.
The voice was familiar.
"Irelia," came Nautilus' deep, echoing voice.
Slowly turning himself around, he faced the Will of the Blades. Irelia was always popular out on the Fields of Justice. Many summoners always chose her. Nautilus found himself occasionally dueling against her, much to his disdain. It always seemed that his summoners were... Lacking in regards to much skill. Often he'd lose battles to her.
But of course, not all of that could be held accountable to poor summoners. Irelia was a duelist. She's been fighting for a long time, Nautilus had heard. Enough time to refine her strengths into something much more powerful.
That is what he lacked. He was strong, no doubt, but he knew nothing of his strength was refined.
Mentally shaking his head, he cleared his thoughts and set down his anchor with a loud thunk as it hit the ground.
"I'm fine... What brings you to the Institute, Irelia?"
Small talk. Not one of his strong suits, but it'd make do for now.
a chat outside the institute. (FIELDS OF JUSTICE OPEN RP.)
Nautilus had always spent his time around the Institute of war.
Clunk. Clunk. Clunk.
The sound of the heavy diving suit colliding with the floors outside the Institute repeated over and over again. Nautilus was pacing about, thinking to himself. It was all he had to do. Occasionally he did work or any favors for people of the Institute itself. At least he had his strength... But there was no one needing any help today.
It was boring, to say the least.
He always looked on as people went by, almost envious. After all, they were just regular people. Not a regular person forever trapped in a six foot three inch diving suit composed of somewhat rusted iron.
He paced around, anchor positioned on his shoulder, carrying it in one hand with ease. Nautilus soon noticed a sound.
Footsteps.
Footsteps with an accompanying shadow. The titan didn't turn around to greet his visitor. He merely spoke out, expecting a response in return.
"Hello. Who's there?"
A moment of silence. Soon came the noise of the creaking metal that was Nautilus' diving suit. With his hefty anchor supported on his shoulder, Nautilus shook his head at the Ionian woman he towered over.
"I have no... Time to waste on hobbies. I spend most of my time here at the Institute trying to find the men who did this to me."
He paused again, bringing his free hand to his 'chin'.
"It wouldn't exactly... Be possible to develop a hobby in this state, anyways. This suit is... Far too large and there is no way that I could use any precision whatsoever."
