Thinking back on this year - a year that has surely been one of the strangest of my adult life, but nonetheless, the most interesting. In 2017 I played my first show and this year was fortunate to play many more. In 2018 I focused mostly on performing music and putting together compositions. Feeling thankful for these opportunities and for those who came out, organized, or hosted an event, whether it was to a crowd or to an audience of 2 people.

This coming year will be devoted to recording and releasing finished music.

Nice! Thanks for replaying. Do you use a baseline grid, modular grid, or anything to make the posters cohesive?

I do mostly everything exclusively in Illustrator so I just use the guides to make a grid and makeup rules for how type and images should interact with it. I like having the typography conform to the boundaries created with the grid, stretching the type to fill the space.

What style are your posters in? I've been seeing that style emerge, but I don't know what to call it.

Not entirely sure. I pull a lot of my reference from 80s synthesizer graphics, dance club flyers, 90s gangster rap cassette tapes, retro sneakers, advertising of the 90s, etc. A lot of the flyer designs pull from places and times and popular products from those periods. Hope that helps.

I’ve been performing live lately. These images are from a show I did at a friend’s going away party. There was vegan pancakes, a fog machine, stick n’ pokes, live sounds, great people, plenty of booze, and a projector featuring vintage pornography. It was a weird but great time.

I’ll share an excerpt of footage from this show shortly. Hoping to play many more shows in the near future.
