Tlaoco is a 6ix teen year old mestizo who faces internal struggles often, and has little relief or expression of these upsets. My boyfriend has friends to go to when something’s happening, he has people but I don’t. When I can’t talk to my boyfriend, I can only lay in my bed for another day and just cry, I don’t mind crying, but I can’t cry to anyone, I can’t cry anywhere, besides my pillow. I hate when descendants of native Mexicans try to completely deny the violent aspects of their peoples or other groups culture. People who reject the Mexica / “Aztec”s ritual practices of cannibalism and sacrifice are just stupid. they’re trying to erase parts of their culture to be seen as equal or civil to old world groups. Almost every ancient culture had violent practices, and even then why are we trying to fit in with these people? Anyways, our people sometimes did some things purely because that’s how culture was, and yes some people were sacrificed willingly, it was a big part of their faith. The Mexica did have a great army ready to do some pretty horrific things and that’s okay, don’t polish our culture to make it more appealing to people, who cares?
