Things have been a bit âlocoâ around here at TaylorMADE for the past few weeks
trying to get everything in order for our first Crafty Hour!
I had a bunch of my girlfriends over for a Cinco de Mayo-themed
Margarita glass painting party!
Here are all of the details to host your own Crafto de Mayo party!
â Cactus String Lights (TargetÂź)
â Tin Can Cactus Garden
â Flowers from my favorite florist (Wilson FarmÂź)
â Tissue Paper Flowers (Dollar TreeÂź)
â Skull Succulent Planter
â Painted CoronaÂź Vases (I followed this tutorial)
â Mini Piñatas (Taco from Party CityÂź / Donkey from AmazonŸ â itâs actually a gift card holder!)
â Â Coffee Table (I made this coffee table about 8 years ago and it was the BEST DIY EVER! I added a glass top and some furniture feet to finish mine)
â My favorite thing about my coffee table is that I can change out the center dĂ©cor according to season, theme, or just because!
â For this fiesta, I filled mine with poofs of different colored tissue paper
â Photo Booth: Whatâs a party without a photo booth?!
â I simply attached strips of crepe paper to a long strip of clear packing tape (super last minute but it worked so well!)
â Mini sombrero hats for fun/props (found at Party CityÂź)
â White plastic tablecloths (Dollar TreeÂź)
â Falsa Mexican Blanket Table Runner (Amazon)Âź
â Chips, Salsa, Guacamole
â Cupcakes (Wilson FarmÂź) / I decorated a bright colored stand with pom pom fringe
â Mexican hat gummy candies
â Put the margaritas in the pitcher I DIYâd (click here for the tutorial).
â Hereâs the recipe (I canât find the original source):
â One can of limeade from concentrate
â One can of tequila (I used AltosÂź)
â Half a can of Triple Sec
â One bottle of CoronaÂź
â One can of cold water
â Fruit Juices: pineapple, blood orange, etc.
â Strawberry purĂ©e was a huge hit!
â Fresh Fruits: strawberries, lemons, limes, blackberries, raspberries, etc.
â Salt / Sugar (I used my set of DIY CoronitasÂź salt and pepper shakers)
â Mustache straws DIY (I put the straws in my drinking glasses I made from CoronaÂź bottles)
â Click here for the template I created for my SilhouetteÂź Cameo.
â Simply cut out the mustaches, punch a hole in the center and put it through a bendable straw.
â Water: Fill a large decanter with ice water and some sliced limes.
â I covered the bar table with the oil cloth tablecloth DIY (click here for the tutorial) from last summer. This was perfect for the sticky juices/fruits because I could just wipe it clean!
â I always have my bar cart decorated for each season or party.

Project: Margarita Glass Painting
â Click here to download the complete instructions!
â I put all the enamel paints in one tin and put the bushes in a terra cotta pot.
â Q-tipsÂź are used a lot in this project so I had some easily accessible in these etched shot glasses (click here to purchase your own set / click here to DIY your own).
â Not all of my friends are crafty and I wanted them to feel completely comfortable creating their glasses. I printed out some inspiration for them and threw in some tips throughout the night so they wouldnât feel lost!
â I wrapped the glasses up and put them in cute paper bags for the girls to easily take their glasses home. I put an instruction sheet in the bags so they can replicate the craft again!
â I created a custom stamp with my SilhouetteÂź Mint. Click here for the template. It is a donkey piñata with the pun, âIâd Hit That!â
â Click here for the tutorial I used to make the mini tissue poofs. I attached the poofs to the bags with double sided tape.
