Hello! this is @snowleopardtherebel's sideblog for their TMNT iteration, TMNT: Time's Up!
What is TMNT: Time's Up?
TMNT: Time's Up is an original TMNT iteration and a merge of my two older iterations- TMNT: Timeblind, and TMNT: Underground. I had been wanted to revisit TMNT: Underground for a while and I still felt attatched to TMNT: Timeblind (The blog for said iteration sadly no longer exists)
TMNT: Time's Up pulls inspiration from Arcane, The Owl House, and several other tmnt iterations- most notably ROTTMNT, and the IDW comics. Mutant Mayhem had a bigger inspiration in TMNT: Timeblind but I am not sure if it will inspire this now, as Cynthia Utrom is no longer in this iteration.

if there's anything you would specifically like to ask/see, feel free to shoot me an ask! happy to chat with you!
As you can probably tell, these were very heavily inspired by wings of fire, in fact the original dragon concepts WERE scientifically accurate wings of fire tribes. Expect the designs to change while I figure out how to it makes them less wings of fire-y
When your sister you havent seen in years shows up and steals a magical artifact from an alternate version of your old cult and now you have to save this weird alternate world or smth
Yeah idk i got super burnt out with this one even though hes just a regular ass white man
Hishop is the head of the EPF. probably got captured by the krang at some point or something idk. Hates mutants and distrust the magical creatures that are just sort of there
I've decided that the first 'arc' of this story I want to tell through little snippets like this! Maybe little mini comics or drawings like this paired with dwrting snippets. Essentially, in canon, these would be 'Documents'. diary entries. recordings. security camera feeds. eyewitness accounts. etc. Even official EPF documents- all documenting the turtles lives in the epf labs before they escape
Writing beneath the cut!

He leads the small, sniffling turtle down the hall.
"It will be alright," he reassures her, hand resting on her shoulder. She tenses, and he removes it. He also doesn't particularly want to get another shock right now.
"Will it?" Subject Five turns wide green eyes to the doorway, stopping right beside it. He looks through the doorway.
The rest of the turtles are there, giggling quietly and talking to one another. Six is hanging upside down from a shelf which nearly gives him a heart attack, Four is reaching up to grab a book for Two. Seven is climbing on Subject One's softshell, emitting happy little chirps. He smiles.
"Seven, what did we say about climbing our friends?" He steps across the doorway and all the turtles heads snap up to look at him.
"Mr. Hamato!" Two is the first one to react, leaping up and running over to throw her arms around him. He kneels to kiss her on the head before reaching over and gently plucking Seven off of her sister. Seven squeaks in protests and wriggles her limbs around, much like a turtle who had just been lifted out of the water.
"Did you bring anything for us again?" Three pushes himself to his feet. Four silently comes over and offers her shoulder to lean on.
"No." Mr. Hamato shakes his head. "I'm…sorry. They wouldn't let me bring anything."
One's gaze slides to Five and she brightens, tugging the other softshell over to look at the pcitures she had found. Yoshi smiles, and, seeing that they are all settles, backs out of the room and closes the door.
"Mr Hamato."
He jumps, then straightens, smoothing back his hair.
"Agent Bishop."
"How is Subject Five's powers coming along?"
His teeth dig into his bottom lip. "I…Don't know."
"You don't know?" The man's voice grows dangerously low.
"She's- young," he stammers, "Plus with the- situation-"
"You are a Hamato." The agent sneers. "I expect results. And soon. These are weapons, not children."
"The oldest is twelve-"
"Does an animal feel the way we do?" Bishop leans in. "They are not people. They are things. Do not slow this project down any further, Mr. Hamato, or else we may not be so kind in the future."
His hand tightens on the notepad in his pocket.
"What will you do to them?"
Bishop smiles, jarring and uncanny.
"Nothing drastic, I'm sure." He turns, but not before looking back. The gleam of reddish-brown eyes catches the neon lights of the hallway.
"why does she have 4 fingers-" shh. i hate drawing hands. shh.
Casey Jones is one of Jennika's closest friends! She's a member of the Foot Clan, though honestly she's more of a vigilante than anything. She's here, she's queer, and she WILL beat your ass with a hockey stick she DIY'd herself.
Will she pspspspsp a dragon? Yes. Can she pspspspsp a dragon? Mmm debatable. She'll sure try.
Casey takes inspiration from multiple different iterations. I really love her in Rise so most of her personality comes from there. She doesn't have a great home life so she mainly distracts herself by running around with Jennika and the Foot Clan and beating up criminals in her spare time.
She likes to work with and do crafts using metal! making little bracelets and earrings and stuff.
"But Donnie, where's that in her reference sh-" i just came up with this now i'll add it later
These are more focused on the background stuff rather than the usual "what would the character do in XY situation" kinds of asks. I've been looking for something like this for quite a while and in the end decided to make my own. Feel free to use, go wild, enjoy
What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?
How long was the process before the character reached its final version? (or a version that would be clearly recognizable as the character?)
What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?
And reverse, which one of the four things did you struggle with the most?
How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?
What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?
What is an aspect of their appearance that you like the most?
What is the origin of their personality? And let's be honest - how much of it is projecting?
How big is their role in the story? Do they make a frequent appearance or are they a character with little "screentime" but big influence? Or are they just a favourite background guy?
What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?
Is there any existing character from other media that your character resembles? Was the resemblance intentional or was it a coincidence?
Do you have a playlist for the character? What songs do you associate with them and why?
Do you have a voice claim for the character? What do you imagine the character sounds like?
Do you have any quotes tied to the character, either from the story itself or from another source that fit them?
Have you ever made a moodboard for them?
Is there any memes or running jokes associated with the character, both in- and out of universe?
Are there any motifs or symbols associated with the character? How are they represented, in their design, personality or in some other way?
Does the character have other characters connected to them? Do you have a family tree and "offscreen" connections made up for them or do they exist in a vacuum purely for the purpose of the story?
What is your general favourite thing about the character? What is your least favourite?
Bonus question: share any additional thoughts, art, favourite scenes, anything you've been waiting for a chance to ramble about
Leo's turn! The last of the main siblings and the youngest, Leo has puppy dog eyes and is NOT afraid to use them.
He is autistic like Donnie, has more sensory issues than Donnie does, and he has an easier time controlling tone/level of volume. However, he struggles with social cues and tends to get overstimulated easier. He doesn't remember anything about the EPF, only vague emotions like fear and pain, due to the fact that when they all escaped, he was only six years old.
He really looks up to Donnie. Donnie doesn't know how to react to this information.
Subject Four is interesting. Lashes out at other subjects. Solitary confinement may be looked into.
Species: Indian Roofed Turtle
Age at disappearance: 10
Raph showed a lot of the classic signs of child neglect and trauma during his time in the EPF. This manifested in the form of physical and sometimes verbal violence- hitting, scratching, biting, starting fights and hurling insults.
This somewhat changed when he got older as the turtles were taken out of that environment and placed in...well, maybe not a better environment, but a significantly better one than the EPF facility.
He likes to draw. Mikey and Splinter found out soon after their move that it was a good outlet for Raph's anger (alongside a punching bag). The walls of his half of the room are covered in drawings.
Subject Five seems to be showing difficulties regarding her mystic abilities. Causes great stress and physical pain.
Species: Albino Pink Belly sidenecked turtle
Age at disappearance: 11
Donnie!
Donnie is the third oldest of the siblings. They're the closest with Mikey- they aren't twins and they aren't the same age, but with the way they act you'd think they were at first glance. Mikey is one of the few people Donnie feels comfortable talking and ranting to.
Donnie is mostly nonverbal and primarily communicates via sign language. They only really talk around their siblings or VERY close friends, but even then, it's very easy for them to get burnt out
The only ones they can hold a steady conversation with are Splinter, Mikey, and eventually, April and Tim
They are somewhat of a mixture of IDW and ROTTMNT Donnie in terms of personality. They have a special interest in herpetology and like to explore Mutant Town and the city above.
