Magic the Gathering: A Thought
So I went to a MtG tournament this weekend and learned quite a bit. I played a Green/White Heroic Deck and found it was quite lacking. I rushed putting it together just so I could play. Anyways, here’s some things I realized.
1) No more 20 Land Decks. That was the norm…… when the game first came out. Now it seems that 22-23 lands make more sense. And I could see why. Even with a cheap cost deck like I was playing, I ran into mana problems a few times. To be successful in this game, that can’t happen.
2) Cheap decks won’t win you matches. I probably put 40 into the deck I played (probably could of got it even cheaper if I bought them offline). This deck had it’s moments, but it was just not capable of keeping up with the decks I battled. So I’m going to have to figure out just what I can spend on packs and what I can spend online to build better decks. Cause this game ain’t cheap.
3) Learn all you can. I’m no genius when it comes to this game. So by all means ask questions. Watch those who know how to play to see what works and what doesn’t. Heck, if anyone who plays reads this wants to give advice, comment away. I’m sure there are a lot of people who tumblr and play MtG.
