Hey guys, mod here! You might've noticed I do image descriptions in the alt text of all the dialogue and images on this blog. If anyone uses this text, could you let me know how you'd like text in an alien language to be written? I could continue what I'm doing now, which is just saying that there is "Vargr text in yellow", or I could change to doing either IPA (which I've heard screen readers struggle with) or the direct transliterations that are currently used in the text boxes. The direct transliterations likely won't be read correctly by screen readers, since the canon transliteration system is kind of messy.

How should alien languages be treated in alt text for this blog?

I'm also trying to think if there's a better way to handle the text in general. The transliteration system is kind of difficult to understand, but Determination Mono doesn't handle unicode characters, so I'd need to add IPA text by hand in an image editor, which would slow down responses. I've been planning to eventually make a font for this conlang, but that would offer you guys no information about how things are actually pronounced, and if I end up using other alien languages from this setting on this blog, they wouldn't have their own fonts. If you'd like me to stop using the transliteration system in the images themselves and start doing something else (IPA or custom font), drop a reply or an ooc ask! I'm really passionate about this project (if you can't tell) and want it to be easy for the rest of y'all to enjoy!
