THIS BLOG CONTAINS TAGGED GHOST TRICK SPOILERS! Please block the tag "ghost trick spoilers" if you have not played the game. You can call me Spook. Please do not start discourse on my posts. I love cartoons and books. They/them, link/links, grim/grims, sparkle/sparkself
I have learned how to fast reblog >=D
Into Submas, Team Fortress 2, Bugsnax, & Yugioh, and I'm always stoked to talk to fellow fans.
Total drama sideblog
I also have a combined Amphibia & Sonic sideblog which was where I worked on my crossover fic Theory of Refraction. It's sadly on indefinite hiatus, but I'd still be down to talk about both of the shows/my fic whenever. Also occasional yu gi oh posts.

Again, please block the tag "ghost trick spoilers" if you have not played the game. You should probably also block "outer wilds spoilers" just in general. They're both really amazing games that it's best to go into as spoiler-free as possible, so do yourself a favor in case you ever decide to play those games.
DNI if you're a queer exclusionist, a radfem, or start discourse on other people's posts. (I do not want to hear about how ao3 should not have a donation drive I don't care.)
the reason all of this is taking place is because there's a government organization or something that studies demons with the goal of finding ways to destroy them more efficiently. they are rather ruthless and are not above experimenting on humans -- some of their older experiments were done with the goal of producing superhumans, stronger/more agile/more resilient/etc whatever i haven't decided, who could subsequently be sent to an exorcist organization and trained
(the exorcist organization is separate, but i imagine they're working together. only the higher-ups know that they are in collaboration with the government organization to receive secret superhuman experiments as trainees or whatever, there's a good amount of regular people who just signed up normally and don't know about any of that stuff. not important i just wanted to clarify)
anyway, one of these successful subjects is Amaya. born and raised in the experimental facility but she "graduated" and earned a name + false backstory + whatever else she needs to integrate into society, then became an exorcist. she still regularly visits the facility for, like, check-ins or whatever
(as you can imagine, Amaya is not even remotely well adjusted after her Experimental Subject Upbringing so she takes her job as an exorcist less as an opportunity to help people and more as an opportunity to let off steam and pent up rage. she uses it as a way to feel like she has power over something so she's maaaaybe a bit needlessly sadistic but she gets the job done)
anyway, Amaya is actually the last one of these superhuman exorcist trainee subjects , because they pivot to a new goal after her. they want to create a SuperExorcist™️ who can just absorb and destroy demonic energy, no equipment needed, no conventional exorcism methods, no negative side effects, just all on their own. a being who exists solely to destroy demons !
funnily enough, they've recently noticed a phenomenon they've dubbed "The Flame" . it's a powerful demonic force that doesn't seem to exhibit any typical signs of a "consciousness" BUT it's EXTREMELY powerful, manifesting to burn away and consume other demons, no effort. they figure if they could harness and weaponize this energy they could definitely utilize it for their SuperExorcist thing
they do figure out how to capture the flame and route it into a human being but it turns out it's too powerful to contain in a human and ends up killing or severely harming anyone they try it on . #oops
since they halted the superhuman project, they just repurpose the rest of those subjects who were still in progress for a new project: trying to create a host powerful enough to contain The Flame.
More Experimenting Ensues and eventually they succeed in creating a host strong enough to withstand The Flame
The Flame did not have a conventional human consciousness before this so now that it's in a human host it's almost like a blank, personalityless slate.
this next part needs more work i haven't fleshed it out yet. anyway since The Flame isn't very personalityless and not doing anything with its powers they're like "God damn it we have to train this thing before we can harness it I guess." to train/socialize/work with(???) The Flame, they bring in two of the most powerful exorcists -- Amaya, of course, and one of her colleagues, Lilia. Lilia isn't a superhuman from their facility who got sent to become an exorcist she's just a regular lady who's skilled enough to be on par with Amaya. I have no idea if this is what I'm gonna go with I haven't quite figure out the reason why Amaya and Lilia are involved in this situation .
Oh wait, maybe Amaya and Lilia are ??? Ohhh wait maybe Amaya and Lilia capture weaker demons to bring to The Flame to see how it reacts and if they can train it to burn and consume demons? I kinda like that. Well, I'll figure it out. Point is, Amaya and Lilia are involved
Anyway, that's all the set up for the premise! All that stuff i mentioned with Lilia and Amaya and The Flame happens after this. Lilia and The Flame become very close to the point that Lilia nicknames it "Lume," Lume becomes overly attached to Lilia because she's its most frequent companion as it develops a sense of self, Lilia has a crush on Amaya and confesses to her and they kiss and then Amaya is like "Lilia I think I'm aromantic" 5 seconds later, etc. etc., something happens that causes Lilia to realize Lume is a fundamentally different lifeform from a human being and it's not safe to treat it as a companion, probably Lume kills a bunch of people and possesses Amaya to try and become more acceptable to Lilia, blah blah blah you get the idea
lots more to develop but that's the basic set up ☺️
i do think we should normalise being like. platonically enamoured with someone. perhaps i love and admire you dearly and there's nothing romantic about it
okay reblogs back on i managed to get the mute notifs button working. also while i'm here shoutout to the person who misread this as "politically enamoured" and tagged zohran mamdani, that gave me a good laugh
I love that thing when people get a little bit tongue-tied and garble what they’re trying to say so they make a little “blegh” 👅 noise and start over. verbal reset button. hitting the top of the tv to unscramble the signal
Created systems are important and an essential part of the community! Created systems are amazing and have helped forward plural understanding so much. We're lucky to have fronting guides written by created systems, communication guides written by created systems. Intentionally created systems are impressive! Accidentally created systems are unique! Created headmates are as much their own people as they want to be, they have their own autonomy and deserve to be respected. Solely created systems are cool! Mixed origin created systems are awesome! Mainly-traumagenic systems with created headmates are important! Psychologically-based created systems, spiritually-based ones, and every system in between are wonderful 💙👥
Created systems are still multiple. It's okay to want to be plural or to have become plural because of creation methods. Whether it be through psychological or spiritual methods, if one claims existence/personhood and wishes to be seen as multiple/separate, they have a right to that no matter what.
There's no identity that absolves you of harm, yes, sure, but I think more people need to hear that there's no gender or racial or sexual identity that makes you uniquely capable of harm.
There is absolutely nothing about being a trans woman that makes you more likely to hurt people, and it certainly doesn't make you more dangerous.
Transitioning into masculinity won't turn you into a destructive patriarchy monster, no matter what people may tell you about testosterone.
Eschewing the gender binary altogether doesn't mean you're trying to dodge 'responsibility' for whatever cisgender privileges you may have had prior to coming out, and it doesn't make you a danger to (other) trans people.
Gay men aren't rapists, lesbians aren't predators, bisexuals aren't manipulative nymphomaniacs, asexuals aren't wolves in sheep's clothing. I could go on. But nothing about existing as you are makes you a threat or a danger to anyone else, and anyone trying to convince you otherwise isn't worth listening to.
my farming sim game will have animal butchery as a normalized part of the gameplay loop to act as a lightning rod to draw all the discourse and thinkpieces away from topics that would annoy me more
in my farming sim game that has animal butchery as a normalized part of the gameplay loop, shipped products will be sold on a weekly basis, not a daily one. you get a big windfall once a week and then you budget around that. if you want more money in the interim you have to go sell to the local merchants whatever products they specialize in.
in my farming sim game, getting married to one of the townspeople will have a significant impact on your gameplay. if you marry the rival farmer, their smaller farm will be merged with yours. if you marry the town alchemist/doctor you get a buff to all your alchemy and you wake up from getting knocked out in your own home instead of their clinic. if you marry the priestess she uh, idk she does weather related divine magic for you so you can choose the weather, idk i haven't thought too hard about that one yet
these tags are probably a joke but genuinely i do think that more games with romance candidates in general should require you to at least be on friendly terms with their family/close friends before they will romance/marry you. so yes. romancing the MILF will require attending her kid's pretend tea party first. to prove you mean business
in honor of this post hitting 10k, i will tell everyone who accidentally followed me thinking i was actually making a game to check out the notes for some recs that may or may not meet the brief. grimshire looks cool. come back in 5-10 years and maybe i'll be ready for gamedev then
I feel like some people see transitioning as a fix-all for personal problems but I speak from experience with myself & others when I say that like. You can figure out your gender and still have a bunch of other shit going on unrelated to that. Gender is simply one facet of ourselves, figuring out one piece doesn't always mean you've managed to fix the rest
