Always heading for another mountain.
After having filled up our tanks we found a sweet spot close to the road next to a waterfall to make camp for the night. This is the view from inside the tent.
We were running low on gas so had to descend to the mainroad and continue on north. This road was worth the detour.
Working our way up the mountains once again, this time it led straight into the clouds.
People actually live here in this sound of music terrain.
2 bikes enjoying a well earned rest at my sisters house in Stavanger norway.
The journey is done, my brother and I are enjoying Finland and the house by the lake, the picture is taken shortly after I realised a engine mounting bolt had come off and leaked oil for a longer distance. I took that opportunity of oilshortage to replace all oil as one should after the brake in period. At this point in the trip we were 900 km in. He runs good and always starts. More bad things happened during the trip though, more on that later.
Zero days left and we made it. Posting this from the city of Stavanger. 1000km done.
Had to do some grinding and pounding and all kinds of bending but the exhaust and skirting now fit togheter. Starting to look like a fat beast again;) 5 days!
Mr. Lundgren was here today, the artillery had to be called in. Engine mounted! Heavy duty chain and sprocket kit with original toothsizing: 15/39. Ebc rear brake disc and some other good stuff was in the kit and a few other kits on their way as we speak, more on this later. Things are going good and im on schedule. 9 days and counting folks, pray with me. Im going to do some talking and see if this bike cant get a some sponsoring from the man upstairs. Good evening to whomever might be watching.
What can I say, I make it up as I go along. This deluxe truingstand might have been slow to use but it did the trick and one evening spent and the wheel is done. 15 days to go folks, no time to waste.
The old spokes were far to bent and in bad shape to be restored, some made it to be kept as spare spokes for future repairs but I ended up buying a full spoke set. It arrived yesterday and the wheel got laced up yesterday evening. Never done it before so it was a fun process.
Ive ordered quite a few parts from Kedo and the bulk of them have arrived, the part that is on backorder and due for delivery some time this month is the headerpipes. Stainless steel ones are payed and coming, when I dont exactly know. Because of this ive properly scrubbed and sanded the old ones and gave them a new heatcoat finish just in case my new ones wont arrive on time for the journey. Ill probably put exhaustwrap on them before the trip aswell if they have to be used. Feel free to Pm me or send an email if you have any thoughts or questions on this build or anything motorcycle related. Tips and feedback always welcome. Email :[email protected]
The pictures of the top engine getting put back togheter after all the machining and new piston are abit late , it was completed a good while ago. Here the beauty is.
I have been gone for a while again, this time its the girlfriend who took the good camera when travelling and put my documentation on hold. But things have been getting done, the wiring is re-done and put on the bike after many times on and off to get a nice fitment. We have lights brakelight blinkers and the dashboard lights are working aswell. I put the tank and saddle on just as a mockup to see how its looking, not bolted on at all. More to come soon:)
Here is the mess after todays digging around for bolts and nuts and tools to do this and that. Our friend the armymechanic is inspecting our days work. Today we fit the swingarm, rear shock and linkage , oilbox, airbox, front forks with wheel, front blinkers and horn. The stearing head bearings were also pressed on today. The races the bearings spin in was one hell of a thing getting out the other day, not fun at all. Sitting here off picture on the couch enjoying the bikeview as I write this. Good evening, til next time;)
Today was a productive day. More pictures to come during the evening.
