My favorite one is, âcome on Star Wars be original,â as if putting a man in the lead would be cutting edge stuff. AnywayâŠ

Despite my rantings about the prospect of having kids, if I do decide to procreate iâm SO stoked to whip my boob out in public places and heckle the fuck out of anyone who isnât down
Let time change you, but guide it as it passes -Â
Three years ago I had never written a song, I was too afraid of being judged. Three years ago I undoubtedly believed Iâd be married in five years and be the mother to a handful of kids who iâd shape and mold into little humans I adored. Three years ago thought I knew what it meant to love someone else, I thought I knew what it was to love myself.Â
Right now Iâm laying down in a bed with a bass and a friendâs mini amp - within the next two months I should have a loop pedal and my own lilâ amp with all the cords and fixings that come with it so that I can start writing more regularly. I have no plans to raise a family. Itâd be nice in theory, but its something I have absolutely no way of comprehending as a 22 y/o woman who plans to work for the next few decades, and who can rarely find stability in others. I also adore the concept of having a âpartnerâ... cause isnât that what its about? Not tax benefits, not a legally binding agreement that many people maintain cause its a bitch to get out of and the âone cant tally up too many divorcesâ mentality- did you know that in Sweden, citizens donât reap any fiscal benefits from getting married? So what do they do? They donât get married. Many form partnerships that function more personally without government involvement. It seems so simple and silly, but that is the coolest concept to me at the moment. The concept of respect (which ties into self love) is also something that I find incredibly interesting lately. I have to stop apologizing to people who donât understand how to respect me. All of me. Me on days when I donât shave my body, or me on those days when iâm super depressed and down on myself. Or me when I bring up the word feminism in casual conversation. Or the me that doesnât want to have sex with you and just wants to lie there and talk. God damn. Iâm so grateful for the life iâve led so far, for the things and people who have changed me along the way. I used to be so afraid of change, its something I didnât realize you need to let shift your bones in painful ways so you that you can stand up straighter each day.Â
Fans of Lupita Nyongâo were psyched when she announced last year that sheâd been cast as a central character in the new Star Wars film, The Force Awakens. But many fans were frustrated to later learn that Nyongâo wouldnât be appearing onscreen as herselfâinstead sheâd be voicing an entirely CGI character.
This week, Nyongâo herself shed some light on the casting. Nyongâo told Buzzfeed News that she selected the entirely CGI role, the first part she chose after winning an Oscar for role in 12 Years a Slave, Â partly because she liked the idea of not having her body seen onscreen. In 12 Years a Slave, her performance was extremely physical and visceralâher character Patsey was whipped, raped, and otherwise brutally abused. â12 Years a Slave was a film that was so much about my body, and Star Wars is not at all,â Nyongâo told Buzzfeed. âThere was a liberation in being able to play in a medium where my body was not the thing in question.â
