Welcome to The Arcadian Archive the tumblr version of the twitter account by the same name! We dig through the internet to find anything from storyboards, to concept art, video clips and other fun things from the franchise including Rise of the Titans that you might miss simply because there is no hub as it were to find them. It can be fairly erratic when things are discovered, things from Trollhunters are still being found even now for instance, so there might be a slim chance something could pop up later on.
Unlike twitter’s daily tweets this account will be treated purely as a “You ask and if we have your request we will get it for you”. For understandable reasons we cannot guarantee finding anything but we’ll do our best!
We can assure that all finds are public and properly sourced. If content has a paywall or program restriction such as requiring discord to see the original source they will not be shared. We also respect that the creator can decide to remove their work at any time.
As promised today we are going to look at colour keys from Trollhunters specifically by Alfonso Blaas! On Friday I somehow ended up on an Italian website that had some never before seen artwork before and they included… This.

The left image can be seen in his artstation account and his website meaning it is extremely likely the right hand pair are his work as well. It was suspected these might be back from when Trollhunters was still a film due to Toby’s coat matching the poster and it turned out it’s true!

My twitter notifs have needless to say been rather scary since the find. I’ll be going over the other things from the site (And a couple others) on Thursday :)
Surprisingly this isn’t the first time a non-english website happened to have squirreled away unseen concept art. While down currently (And this screenshot from when it was live is being shared as proof of finding) The CAB has multiple articles on Trollhunters as well in Portuguese. One of them happened to have more of his colour keys!
Today not hacking who knows what out me lungs which is a considerable improvement. Could we interest you in some German exclusive Trolljäger "sweat shorts" and a t-shirt? They popped up on ebay a ways back now.
They're even numbered which sure why not.

Do you by any chance have any concept art of jack sturges? I’ve only ever seen three or four floating around (from the artbook as well as characterdesignreferences.com)
at least I THINK that’s him, unnamed, in these two by francisco ruiz velasco!
But regardless most mentions of jack during the early early development are very obscure, so just checking if you got any!

Yeah there's only a literal handful of the film era that's even been public plus the very understandable "Which one is this" issue. So let's go with the whole lot that has A Jim and hope for the best.

Then if we nip over to Sergio Casas yeah no doubt in this case that's Jack on the right. This one and the Headless Studios character sheets have become distinctive in the "Yeah that's film era" because of the kids outfits.

He hasn't in a while but for a good while Francisco Ruiz Velasco for some reason kept posting visual development on linkedin? Have to forgive me not digging out the source links as Linkedin is HORRENDOUS to search but if you check his artist tag below those will have them along with whatever he said.

It's not impossible there's more blowing about out there that we're simply unaware of or Fruiz goes on another upload binge. That the net is now more age restricted for the audacity of living in the UK does make things increasingly difficult to check. We keep trying tho.

The industry has changed a lot since then but not in how shows are often a lot further in production than you might think come announcement time.
To the Anon who sent the ask, will get on with it don't worry! Last week turned into A Lot and currently running on a questionable amount of sleep. Soon as I get the energy back to answer properly I will do now tumblr is letting me click the button.
As for today, well. Might have seen mention that Sean Wang randomly updated her portfolio again. Things have a habit of appearing then disappearing again so try and check it twice a week to be sure and on this occasion something new appeared...

I do apologise for the long wait since the last one, life stuff happened to not get into it too much and I’ve been struggling a lot as a result meaning even just copying my notes over felt like too much. With Rise of the Titans coming so soon I wanted to get at least one more of these out before it does.
Thanks to Blinky giving a straight translation this one was easier than most (I’ve been trying and struggling to parse the Dictatious saying but I am having a crack at it) though the Trollish word for Hunter has eluded me a bit. This is as best as I could figure out on an audio hear and may be spelt incorrectly as a result.

Been a fair bit since the last of Fabien Ouvrard's surprise Trollhunters film era concept art haul so lets have us some Darklands. Even seems to have the throne that also appeared in Rémi Salmon's work...

Very understandably when books or even comics are coming, there are often placeholders so there's a something there under the cover are officially released. For some reason, A Brief Recapitulation of Troll Lore's ended up public and is still blowing around the internet to this day. The Amulet image is Yingjue Chen's:

The finalised version looks much closer to the in show asset which is neat! One of the easier books to track down though of course as time goes on it will only get harder.
