I’m truly sad over the Kristoff St John passing. I’ve watching his work on Y&R and other projects since I was a small child. I want to send my love to his family, friends and colleagues that he touched.
Very sad

You folks seem to be unfamiliar with the way math works. If she was 100 then her mother had to have been 65 years old when she was born AT THE YOUNGEST to be ‘a former slave’.
Ever heard of menopause? Happens to women between 45 and 55. Makes the babies stop.
You seem to be unaware that black men were also slaves, and are unaffected by menopause. In fact, the oldest man to father a child is 96 years old at the time of said child’s birth.
Considering the article itself stated that it was, in fact, her father who was the slave, not her mother, this response seems especially ridiculous. Not only that, but your math is incorrect, and I am impressed that you got it so… wrong.
Slavery ended in 1865 (That is when the 13th amendment was ratified) and the emancipation proclamation was declared only three years earlier. Her father, Elijah Odom, was born in 1859, and was six when slavery was outlawed, and three when Lincoln issued his proclamation. So, we can confirm, her father was indeed a slave and born while slavery was still legal.
She was born in 1917. To determine her fathers age at the time of her birth we simply take 1917 and subtract 1859. He was probably 58 when she was born (give or take 1 year), so no, the ‘youngest’ he would have had to be for her to be one hundred is not ‘65′ (And I’m unsure of where you got that number from, you can’t just pull numbers out of your ass and decide they are fact because you ‘feel’ like it).
There is all the evidence and logic you need, and for someone so obsessed with it, it seems particularly impressive that all of this would have escaped you. Like, if you had bothered reading the article at all, all of this information would have been very much readily available. Also like, google exists, and a lot of this is very easy to google too.
“Come at me with evidence and logic, fuck your feelings” *forgets that fathers exist*
Also, like, they were breaking up illegal slave plantations in the 60’s? So she’s not the last child of a slave, she’s the child of a legal slave.
