Okay I’m gonna attempt to make intellectual content here watch me
Imagine for a second that TISD isn’t some randomly generated rubbish. Imagine that the AI that wrote it knew what it was doing.
if the narration of the story is treated like it came directly from the AI instead of a mashup of random stories, it shows that the AI’s interpretation of humans which is that they are brash and impulsive, as shown by the strange way most of the characters act.
Instead of talking out something or creating a competition to decide who would go on the spaceship they resort to violence immediately and slap each other. They are incapable of coming up with a better solution to their problem, violence is their first option. They don’t listen to reason and always shut each other down, shown when whatever characters say ‘don’t interrupt’ even when there is a genuine concern such as when Yaxley was asked what if the friends don’t want to come along. They distribute blame and punish people wrongly, like how Charlie said something Harrison didn’t like and he slapped Dexter, in a situation where physical violence wouldn’t even be justified. It was just because he felt like it.
On top of that, the AI sympathises with technology and inanimate objects more. It says the spaceship tried to do its best to do a good job but doesn’t give humans the same treatment, because at least they’re not violent, stupid humans.
And when the spaceship runs out of fuel and they’re stranded on the planet, the AI says that it was a good thing to go. It was good for someone at least.
