thank you for visiting!
Why is your name on twitter a character you don't talk about? I have been meaning to ask you that for awhile
Iām a Shouto kin and I donāt talk about him a lot because I donāt always trust myself to not get overly emotional about him and sometimes talking about him can make me physically ill.
Iām also pretty fixated on him and Inasaās dynamic too and the way people talk about them both can really get to me in ways thatās unproductive š
Itās actually the same with Himiko (despite me not kinning her) but I feel emboldened to push through and talk about her anyways because she needs me, as a fan of her story and someone who resonates with it, to uplift her. I donāt necessarily think Shouto needs me to say anything more than people already have, he has a strong fanbase, Iām happy for him, and Iām not willing to potentially fight with people about him.
I have talked about him though plenty:

I read your fics when i seek comfort, the way you portray the characters amazes me and not only the characters but the way you write in general is so captivating. Reading them reminds me of why i fell in love with mha in the first place, itās like that scene in ratatouille when the guy takes a bite of his dish and gets flashbacks, your cooking is so good thank you
Sorry for getting to this so late this made me so so happy happy genuinely!! Thank you so much!! š Especially because my fanfic is something I do pretty casually in comparison to my artwork. I really wanna dive back in and finish all my existing longfic, I wish I was better with making more one-shots but my mind always just goes running haha
Hey just wanted to say I love reading all of your thoughts and analysis! What are some of your favorite visual metaphors in the manga?
Hi hi!! Oh my gosh thank you ššš©µš©µ Yāall give me so many opportunities to just talk about my special interest so thank you for giving me a chance to share Im very grateful š„¹
My favorite visual metaphors!
- The way Deku is encased in omnious/scary shadows in the river scene in Kacchanās POV
- The red sparrow dancing on Himikoās stomach
- Himikoās hair being half up and half down on the same panel as the textāall in order to make the world easier for me to live inā
Hey hope youāre doing well! Just wanted to ask do you think that katsuki is confusing izuku rejection in 431 to be about his self worth when it could be about his responsibility to shigeraki?
Hi thank you!! Iām slowly doing better šš©µ
This is a super fun question and I think itās cool to explore thank you for asking! I can see this interpretation but Iām going to say personally no - I do think itās still about his self worth.
Both Tenko and Izuku had similar aspirations at somepoint too, but for both it them it came from a place of wanting to be a symbol for people who needed it and taking care of their friends.
There are other ways to be a hero, but if Izuku is devaluing himself, his dreams, and his close relationships out of guilt (or even out of a sense of responsibility) then itās still about how he sees himself at the end of the day, and heās also repeating cycles of neglect (to himself and his peers, although not nearly as extremely).
Also I generally trust Katsukiās intuition about Izuku by the end of the manga, he was our mirror into emotions Izuku wasnāt expressing in the whole of the epilogue from a writing standpoint, so Iām typically privy to lean into his instincts about how Izuku is feeling.
y'all need to relearn the word erratic and stop using schizophrenic/bipolar/psychotic as a replacement
y'all need to relearn the word particular and stop using ocd as a replacement
People need to relearn the word "egocentric" and stop using narcissist/narc as a replacement.
People need to relearn the word "impulse" and stop using "intrusive thought" as a replacement
Hello I just want to say that i love your fics so so much, i have read all of them, i really love your characterization in them, i have reread some a couple of times and itās always a delight š„¹š
Oh my god thank you š your timing couldnāt have been better, I got a new laptop with the goal of properly updating the longer ones soon. A couple of them are so old at this point, so you giving time to them means the world.
I also have an Ochako character study long fic that I meant to post last year but Iāll be posting it after the anime ends instead - I hope that piques your interest along with the promise of future updates very soon!
what do you think of the idea that katsuki needed izuku to reject the agency offer so he could let go of some of his guilt and fully meet izuku where he's at in the present? i've been seeing other bkdk shippers say this recently & have my own thoughts about it but i was interested in yours
I generally donāt like the idea Katsuki does the things he does for Izuku out of guilt or that itās his primary motivator.
(I acknowledge he feels guilt, but I reject the notion he uplifts, cares for, or opens up avenues and opportunities to Izuku to make up for the guilt.)
If Izuku thought (or if we assume itās accurate - learned) Katsuki was only doing things for him out of guilt, I feel like that would really hurt him.
Itās fully on the merit of the growth of their relationship that Katsuki feels like he can share life with him, and wants to invite more of that time with him. He also is not resistant to Izukuās choices, but is rightfully weary of the motivations behind them because of Izukuās established low self-esteem.
This also starts getting into whether or not you believe being a teacher is what Izuku wants out of his life.
I understand some people believe that it became so because of everything that happened, but I tend to take Katsukiās instinct at face value here and think Izuku settling for an alternative because of his hardships should not be the thing that keeps him from pursuing his ultimate dream (being a really cool superhero) if it exists.
what do you think of izukus reaction to katsukis apology ?i feel like since then izuku has not been given the chance to respond earnestly to any of katsukis actions
I think Izuku generally avoids addressing strong feelings within himself and would rather project his responses outwards to instead acknowledge how other people feel/felt/may be feeling.
So his response to Katsukiās apology being to think about how his behavior (which was mirroring Katsukiās old philosophy) made other people feel makes sense.
Obviously we want more conversation but if we take into account Deku-senseiās account of Deku vs. Kacchan 2 they never really had done that before and this first year of highschool was the first time theyād made these steps toward addressing each otherās feelings.
They also have the under-the-surface osananajimi curse of thinking they donāt have to talk because they already know how the other feels (they may most of the time, but they do not always know) lmao.
what did you think of izukus rejection to toga?
I think that it was inevitable (and also on a functional level, perfectly reasonable to reject a confession you donāt reciprocate.) but his choice take it a step further to psycho-analyze her as someone who āhurts people she lovesā even when danger sense was telling him she was not a threat was bad, and reflective of his tendency to impose his feelings on others even without really understanding them.
He does this to Touya as well -
Itās a great flaw of his, I donāt think it makes him a worst character - it basically takes him off the pedestal of being the protagonist with the only righteous mindset, reminds us heās human, and continues on the trend of his weaknesses being things that spur people forward to take their own initiative and not rely on him.
That being said, specifically on the subject of him and Himiko again - it was the wrong thing to do and mean. He distances himself further from the conversation by bringing up All Might and has no interest in coming down to her level when choosing to talk about her as a person - and ultimately the thing that sent her spiraling wasnāt the rejection, it was someone else she admired deciding she was a monster even when he has a superpower telling him she really wasnāt.
what are the most romantic interactions you think bkdk has had?
The End of an Era and the Beginning (Their Feelings Are Now One)
āYour sheer amazingness at everything you do was so brilliant to me it was blindingā
Katsuki finding Izuku during Dark Deku Arc and Kudou is going āIf anything could bolster Midoriya right now it would beā¦ā
Combined āYoure closer to Izuku Midoriya than anyone elseā + Izukuās making āThree of Swordsā heart with blackwhip over seeing his body.
āIf everyoneās special then no one isā
What is the 3 of swords about???
*looks it up*
That will do it, yeah
what do you think katsuki meant with his āeven though ofa is a cursed powerā¦ā right before his rising moment?
OFA created a situation where Izuku didnāt get a chance to appreciate being his already heroic, quirkless, self to instead being given the means to lean into all his most self-destructive habits because the weight of the legacy he was carrying demanded it.
As a result, it was also putting him in a state where he thought he needed to take it all on his own (something Katsuki did not want him to be doing.)

why do you think izuku is always wearing the same shirt as the river scene when it comes to saving tenko
You can read a bit about my thoughts concerning Tenko/Kacchanās parallels here!
But my answer is because Izukuās heroism is steeped in his ability to see the humanity and vulnerability in people and the river scene was the true start of that.
am i tripping or did 431 make gay Kacchan canon (specifically for Deku) š that was my first impression of the chapter when it first came out but itās been months since then so now im not sure
That was definitely my takeaway and it hasnāt changed since last year.
Dudebros love to yapping about bkdk and narusasu because Kishi compared his characters to himself and his twin. Whatever, now I'm thinking about AFO and Yoichi.
Its so frustrating and I really wish people wouldnāt compare narusasu and bkdk so much outside of acknowledging its influence from Hori being a Naruto reader and him being a referential guy. MHA being stuck as Narutoās successor and taking the blowback of peopleās reader trauma from Kishimoto has been really frustrating from the perspective of someone who has no particular emotional attachments to Naruto. Like you said Kishi made comments referring to Naru//Sasu as brothers and threw in fujoshi/gay gags in the story, thats enough for me.
I fundamentally believe Kishimoto wrote NaruSasu queer (and also not on accident, because I feel like thatās patronizing to his intentionality as a writer) but I also think based on how he treated and talked about InoSaku and the concept of queerness as a feasible end goal in life - he was generally apathetic about it.
This is not the case with Horikoshi who tends to not label bkdk outside of osananajimi and with ochahimi being explicitly romantic love in nature. He basically dodges or avoids familial definitions to label the two most prominent queer relationships in the story
That being said also, yes I think its so interesting AFO and Yoichi are twin brothers but when you throw Kudou in the mix it makes the dynamic less about treating queerness and as inhuman and more about understanding your human emotions and identity can be nurtured if you donāt lose the battle within yourself to accept you seek belonging with others. To not be ālonelyā.
Do you think everything Katsuki did after the apology was him trying to atone for his actions towards Izuku? I personally don't think it is, but I have seen a lot of people say that and I was curious for your perspective.
I donāt, I think he just cares about Izuku a lot.
He could have stopped at the apology if it was just for atonement, but he goes beyond that and extends extra kindness and attention to Izuku in very unnecessary, but important ways.
He clearly cares about tending to the growth of their bond, not just the recovery of it (which the apology served to complete). Framing his relationship with Izuku as something heās only doing to make up for (nonexistent) bad blood, or his own guilt - would make their relationship super transactional and shallow.
But thatās why those people are saying that, lol.
We also have certain context clues about this not being exclusively or even mainly about atonement in particular scenes: one that really stuck me back then was during a flashback, him taking a break sitting with All Might while the rest of the class helps Izuku practice with his quirks. Toshinori directly suggests this (helping Izuku) is his way to atone but then adds "...right?"; the "camera" focuses on Katsuki, who doest answer nor shows his full expression.
I think this means two things: 1, there's more to it than simply and plain atonement when he supports Izuku, and 2, there's guilt and/or a sense of responsibility over his previous actions and behavior, making him unable to openly express the things he actually feels or the reason behind his actions. He wants to be better, wants to put an end to his past self, but that's not "just" what he feels or the reason he helps him. He literally felt like he was dying before his first sacrifice because of the amount of fear he had when looking at that Deku, who was willing to die right there.
He thinks about his past actions a lot, he feels responsible, but those dont dictate his actions, its more like a part of his complex feelings, I would say.
