I was skimming Marvel's 85th Anniversary issue not really expecting anything focused on Namor and i was right, but Namor does make a small cameo in The Moon Warrior story. So yay.

i like to think every single thing about namor is slightly uncanny. every single movement he makes, every word he says, basically everything about him is just a little bit off to the human brain . just enough to make people uneasy. he’s not quite human and that sets off alarm bells in people’s minds when they look at him . probably.

As part of the changes to this AU, Jim was originally not on fire, but he disobeyed his creator's orders, harmed people, and was damaged while rescuing a "sea monster" from electrical protection, which created an uncontrollable flame.

Nemor was found as a child by a polar expedition, and although most people did not survive the frost, he stayed with Dr. Mackenzie, who converted his home to accommodate the "child of the sea" while carefully hiding his existence. Carefully, but ultimately - unsuccessfully.
