elle stood outside, rain falling down heavily, showing no signs of stopping. with eyes closed and head tilted up, elle let herself enjoy the light pour. she takes a deep breath as she realizes that this, the soft touch of the raindrops on her skin, is the softest she's been touched in a long time. it reminds her of a taylor swift song, from an album she got for her birthday a few years ago. in this increasingly pouring rain, she can finally breathe, if only temporally.
elle's eyes open up again with the sound of gwen calling her, and she doesn't respond to it at first, wanting to enjoy just a little bit more. but she knows the other girl is right, and she really can't stay there forever, as much as she wants to. “ yeah, I'm going. ” with a last glance towards the sky, elle walks back inside, she reaches up towards her face, wiping away the droplets with the sleeve of her sweater. “ you don't have to worry about me, you know? there's a quick sinking feeling in her stomach, it happens everytime someone politely (and other times not very politely) cuts her off, when they try to be nice about it but she knows they just want to stop talking or go away. she started policing herself because of it, never being too big, but sometimes, when she gets even a little comfortable around someone, elle forgets it. “ y-yeah, sure. no problem. ” she awkwardly sits there for a second before reaching into her pocket, might as well just rush up. “ uhm, here. ” she extends a hand with the money, figured she'd just pay for the small amount of substance she had bought and go back to her own hidden spot and leave him be.
