Once this mess is over, the real show can finally begin. Honestly, the first bit is so slow and awkward. But at least it picks up.

i like how ghost handles its characters suffering. like almost all of them are. takeru is running out of time always, makoto could die at any moment, and the other three have to face losing their friends and family for good. alain is confused and dealing with his sense of identity, everyone has something to worry about in this show. but there’s always hope portrayed. when takeru gets hit hard with depression, someone is there to help him on his feet. onari and akari support each other, takeru and makoto support each other, every time things look bleak there’s still a tiny ray of hope for them and they hold onto it. even now there’s hope for alain, that the others will be able to befriend him and give him a new sense of purpose. this show makes things seem bleak, but never hopeless.

Also, this damn show is better than it has any right to be. This is is episode 23! And it’s not even the first time they’ve had a story climax that would have worked around episode 45 or so. This show plays hardball with the speed they move the story along, filler episodes, what is that?

Have you been watching Ghost? I haven't yet but most opinions I've seen say it's rly good so that's exciting! But I've got so much on my plate already ww soon tho

I’ve seen the first seven eps! it’s really sweet and engaging. It also made me cry in that time, so that’s always a good sign

Decade OT4 for the ask meme~

Which one cried during a fucking disney movie? Yuusuke. Yuusuke always gets into fictional things, he loves stories. Tsukasa on the other hand, seeing Yuusuke get comforted genuinely by Natsumi and jerkily by Daiki, tries to fake crying to get attention. Natsumi puts a towel over his head.

Who put a goddamned fork in the microwave? Natsumi. She’s just sorta careless when it comes to this stuff. Why isn’t food happening now? Tsukasa and Daiki are in continual competition with each other over cooking, and Yuusuke makes simple meals, tending towards hearty stuff. But Natsumi has to this date, broken three microwaves after putting stuff in covered in foil.

Who does the silly hands-over-the-eyes “Guess who” thing? Tsukasa. Tsukasa all the fucking time. Mostly to Yuusuke and Natsumi, because he can loom over them. Occasionally Daiki and Tsukasa do it to each other but it can result in them fighting.

Who puts their cold hands/feet on their partner? All of them except for Yuusuke. Because he’s Kuuga, he runs a lot hotter then a regular person. He doesn’t even notice. Tsukasa and Daiki do it to annoy him, and he finds it soothing because he likes the physical reminder of his partners. Natsumi does it because it makes Yuusuke giggle when she tickles him

Who had that embarrassing Reality TV marathon? Daiki and Natsumi. Neither Tsukasa or Yuusuke are really tv people. But Natsumi cheerfully loves trashy tv, and Daiki slinks in and adds snarky commentary but gets sucked into it at the end. He’s shouting at the TV about the unfairness when contestants get eliminated. Natsumi is laughing and then has to grab him because Daiki is holding the Di-end gun at the tv.

Who laughs more during sex? Yuusuke and Natsumi. They are both prone to laughter, while Tsukasa gets really focused and intense, a little emotional. Daiki has a lot of problems not being in control, so there’s less laughs with him too, he’s serious.

It takes a long time before either of the long legged jerk component of the foursome relax to have less serious sex.

WHO IS THE LITTLE SPOON? Yuusuke. He’s everyone’s little spoon. Tsukasa is versatile and Natsumi and Daiki are big spoons, but Natsumi will switch it up occasionally. When they are the only ones in bed, they just sleep next to each other.

If power levels are an indicator, Kuuga wins hands down...at least according to the Kamen Rider wikia stats... it’s honestly kind of ridiculously crazy!

I’m sorry, Kiriko is my second favorite character in this series, and I am so massively butthurt over how she is treated in it.

We start off with a strong character. She whips her lazy partner into shape, she leaps fences with no problem, she can cancel Dead Heat with a kick, she shoots Roidmudes. This starts declining when Gou shows up. In the meantime we have her weird thing for Chase, even before she knows he’s Proto-Drive, but I was rolling my eyes at him being her ideal man for the first arc of the show, because it was so… eye-roll worthy. So let’s not talk about that. Anyway, Gou steals the show and pushes her a bit more to the background. Kiriko is generally getting less and less important to the plot, showing up mostly to ignore her obviously problematic little brother, and to remind Chase of who he is. When he finally becomes a Kamen Rider again (and gets to save her again, but at least she defended the guys from a Roidmude, and that’s probably the last time we see her doing her job properly), Kiriko becomes more and more useless, finally reduced to being a damsel in distress, falling down stairs in a not even funny, impossible way so Chase can save her and be doki-doki, getting kidnapped by Tornado (and put in a wedding dress, with her hands loosely tied, but she can’t escape, oh no! She needs Chase and Shinnosuke to save her!), getting beaten up by Banno and Co., etc, getting kidnapped AGAIN in the final episode. Again, the person saving her only needed one hand to untie her.

I still think that her relationship and eventual romance plot with Shinnosuke could have worked, had the thing with Chase been resolved much earlier in the series, but I can’t get over what happens with her abilities. Minato was grossly outclassed by the end of Gaim, and she still was shown to be a formidable fighter. Rinko wasn’t even a Rider in Wizard, but she was shown as competent through the whole series. Why couldn’t Kiriko be the same? Why couldn’t she get some upgraded gear, if not outright becoming a Rider, using Mach’s NEXT System? She was the first human candidate for Drive, after all! She was picked first over Shinnosuke! If not, couldn’t she have a bigger role in the investigations? All the other characters are useful throughout the whole series, and Kiriko just becomes decoration/comic relief/hostage of the week. They even have to forget they have Mad Doctor just to put her in hospital, because otherwise she’d just get in the way of the final fight. Banno doesn’t even acknowledge her as his, Krim acts as if Gou is Banno’s only child most of the time too.

I agree with all of this. (And no, it’s not “character development.” If anything, it’s going backwards!) This is why the “Don’t you dare hate Shinnosuke/Kiriko! IT’S CANON!” posts going around annoy me so much. No, I’m not going to be happy about your stupid OTP when this is what it does to a character I liked

What really annoyed me is that even IF we accept the premise that she can’t be a ‘proper’ Kamen Rider, she is so formidable at the start. And with her kick-ass shoes, she could do a lot of damage... and then they just removed every shred of competence.

Since Drive stole so many things from Kuuga, I had hoped that maybe she would be allowed to be like Ichijou, still human, but with enough tech to be useful in a fight without being armored. 

I really hope that the new start with Ghost will bring a little bit of fresh air since the last two stinkers.

Rewatched this episode recently because we rewatched Shinkengers and this is the tie-in, and really, this gifset doesn’t do justice to the chemistry. I had forgotten how spectacularly loaded with desire their every scene together is.
