Kamen Rider & Sentai Rumours
So, here’s a real kicker. A random poster on 4chan (of all places) has “leaked” information about Kishiryu Sentai Ryuusouger and Kamen Rider Zi-O. The following is what they posted (though I’ve cleaned it up to make it clearer).
If the Cross-Z V-Cinema does well, they plan on making two more: Katsuragi’s story, and Mad Rogue. Joe Odagiri (Kuuga) will not return for Kamen Rider Zi-O. He was given a script and he did not like it. On the otherhand, Masahiro Inoue (Decade) will be returning to Zi-O in December and in a movie. Zi-O will have a total of three movies (Heisei Gen Forever, a Spring film, and the Summer film).
On the Sentai side, the Ryuusouger team will consist of five members: four men and one woman. The colours are believed to be red, blue, green, white, and black (the poster has not seen the suits themself). The theme is DINOSAURS and BATTLESHIPS.
Ryuusouger will begin filming in January, pushing it a month back than the regular December filming start, and will premiere on March 17th, 2019 instead of in February. A special, 5-part “Sentai History” show with legendary Rangers, including Captain Marvelous, will air between LuPat’s finale and Ryuu’s premiere.
If Ryuusouger does not perform as well as at least ToQger, then Super Sentai is in danger of being cancelled. The last four years have been bad (ratings and sales-wise) and have been the lowest in Sentai’s history. Moving the premiere to March is part of their plan to increase toy sales (better competition). Ryuusouger’s final theme was decided very late.
Though normally, I wouldn’t place any faith in something like this, the poster (who apparently works in the Japanese film industry) offered up some proof that they had insider knowledge. Hours before it premiered, the leaker posted screencaps of the Kamen Rider Cross-Z trailer and even stated the time that it would be uploaded (all of which turned out to be true).
Still, take all of this with a grain of salt. It’ll help that we should be getting toy catalogs for Ryuusouger to disprove/prove this in about two weeks.
