The panel with Furuta’s kagune kinda reminds me of the panel when Kaneki first fought Amon.

In the past when Shuu met Kaneki on the roof top he said, “I won’t let you go.” and tried to stop Kaneki.

Now with Haise meeting Shuu on top of the building and destroying the helicopter though the context is very different Haise clearly means “I won’t let you go.”

If Haise says those words out loud in a hateful way, I’m going to cry.

So it's true that the cover of chapter 33 was foreshadowing the conflict between Haise and Shuu...

The conflict, as well as the start of the Tsukiyama arc. It also parallels the cover of Ch33 in TG:

I think it was speculated somewhere that Ch 31.5 was released as an extra chapter even though it was relevant to the plot because Ishida-sensei wanted to make sure there were parallels between Ch33 in TG and TG:re.

It seems like Haise and Kaneki both hate being left in the dark.

The first time Yomo was trying to protect Kaneki from the horror that was what Rize had become.

This time is Haise’s past the thing he barrels towards without knowing the potential damage it could cause?

Kaneki/Hide & Kuzen/Ukina Parallels 3 (part 1 here, part 2  here)

You might have noticed already but Haise is Kaneki and Hide’s “child”.

Row 1 & 2: Ukina and Hide both accept Kuzen and Kaneki.

Row 3: Anime: Ukina and Hide are directly killed by the organisation Kuzen and Kaneki had previously joined. Manga: Kuzen and Kaneki are forced to kill Ukina and Hide to stay alive. Ukina and Hide willingly sacrifice themselves for their loved ones.

Row 4: Ukina accepting Kuzen and Hide aceepting Kaneki leads to the birth of a child, a ghoul/human hybrid, i.e. “The Crossbreed”.

Row 5: Eto: natural half breed, Haise: artificial half breed

Eto: abandoned in the underground, Haise: picked up in the underground

Eto: human mother (Ukina), ghoul father (Kuzen) -> Kakugan on right side (paternal)

Haise: human father (Hide), ghoul mother (Kaneki) -> Kakugan on left side (maternal)

Eto: rejects her father, never saw her mother

Haise: rejects his mother, never saw his father

Previously Kaneki was copying Yamori and Rize, his “parents”.

Now Haise is copying Hide and what’s left of Kaneki, his new “parents”.

The habits changed like this:

Right hand: Yamori’s knuckle-cracking -> Hide’s face-touch when thinking

Left hand: Kaneki’s mother’s chin-touch -> Kaneki’s chin-touch

According to this post of Ishida-sensei the child inherits “the mother’s flesh and the father’s soul”.

Haise has Kaneki’s body (flesh) and unbeknownst to him he’s mimicking Hide’s personality (soul).
