Post production
We’ve finished filming everything, and now it is time to start selecting which footage to use in the actual videos, and make decisions about which photos we will use for the project and for which purpose (social media, promotion, posters, stickers, ...
As this masterproject is also the project of a band, things have to stay exciting for their audience. As such, I will not post finished images or videos until the band has posted them officially.
Another evolution post. The sketch looks like absolutely nothing next to the actual scene!
Evolution from sketch to the actual thing!
Building the set of Cretina the Vampire Mermaid. The entire throne is made out of found cardboard mounted on top of a chair found in the room, made shiny with glitter, glitterspray, glitter stickering, shiny foil, ... . The skulls are repainted halloween decorations. The torches have got glitter on them as well as rhinestones. The were placed into bags of soil (for some reason also found in the room), and covered up with the leaves from the fake palmtrees we used in Jimmy’s scene together with fake flowers we already had lying around at home.

A test for Cretina
Construction for the shoot where we all climb into the beacon, dance around it, etc. Again, lot’s of trash bags! The beacon itself is mainly duct tape, foil and hope. I think there is also some wood in there.

An evolution of my storyboard sketch to the actual execution! A good example of everything changing as you go along.
Baby-Jimmy! Sprayed on with glitter which made it look really wet and sticky, ideal for a newborn.
We also had to use some form of censoring because we found out too late that the baby was a boy. If you take that in mind, we kinda had a Victor/Victoria-situation going on.
The build-up of Jimmy Kidd’s set! The bar is made out of cardboard that we got from the store Dennis (Cretina) works at and mounted on the pedestals found in the room. We also found tubes on the street by chance. Glass decorations from the second hand store, borrowed palms (one is real), and a broken ukelele pimped Partytrasher-style.

Most of the set is made out of cut up trash bags and semi-transparent plastic. We’ve also used transparent wires to create some sort of ‘hills’, if you could call ‘m that.
First up is the video for The Princess of The Scheldt!
Preparation for my two weeks of filming! Working on props like gold painted bottles, empty cans, take away containers, plastic cutlery, packs of cigarettes, ... Most of it from the trashcan or gotten from the local frituur. Everything is dazzled accordingly.
