Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967)
(origin)
I did a painting of my cat Maverick, initially planning to do a conventional pet portrait but then I couldn’t resist going the space-art route
The Great Dictator (1940) - [GIF originally found here]
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, S01e49, “The Wrong Stuff” (1985)
I fucking love these guys.
A minor parallel that crossed my mind...obviously one Jason is nothing like the other Jason, and Lucas and Craig are definitely on opposite sides of the idealism/cynicism scale BUT I couldn’t help but notice the similar appearances of these two sets of characters (even just in a “heh CotC high school-era visual reference” kinda way)

Craig of the Creek s1e39, “The Mystery of the Timekeeper”
This moment reminded me of something my mom was talking about a while back, an article she read that discussed how the phrase “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed” is kinda of a cruel thing to say to a child, as if it borders on emotional blackmail, and I couldn’t help but think about how that phrase likely came about during the 50s/60s and at the time was intended to mean more like “I’m not going to scream and hit you, but there will be a fair punishment for your actions” - but with attitudes towards parenting changing to where “don’t get mad at your kids, talk to them” became the standard practice, the phrase’s meaning changed with the times, i.e. disappointment being seen as the worser consequence of one’s actions.
Craig of the Creek s1e04 “The Final Book”
Currently stuck in my room courtesy of a very mild case of Covid, so I started watching some of the shows I’ve been meaning to get around to...obviously this show had me hooked from the pilot episode but this moment in particular made me see its value.
The Man Who Fell To Earth (2022) - 1x5, “Moonage Daydream”
Made an AMV for the first time in years.
I was listening to one of the recent Thunderbirds audiodramas and I remembered how much I enjoyed how Gorillaz’ Plastic Beach had a Tracy Island vibe (which Murdoc even confirms in an interview!) - so I decided to do something about it.
Tried to upload it to TikTok but they didn’t like my use of the audio, and figured YouTube would yield similar results...so, Vimeo shared on Tumblr it is!
