Tommy: Remember that time you dared me to lick the swing set?
Billy: No, I said, "Tommy, don't lick the swing set," and you said, "Don't tell me what to do, Kaplan" and then you licked the swing set.

Soulmates|| Billy & Tommy
Billy wasnât sure what he should have expected, but this kid- Tommy - he spoke fast. There had been silence, at first, but the moment the other boy had opened his mouth to speak, he didnât appear to stop. Which wasnât a bad thing, really, but it felt more like a rollercoaster than it did a conversation. So many questions were dropped at his feet, and Billy rapidly strung together his thoughts, in hopes of answering them. And, admittedly, that would be easier done if he actually knew how to answer most of them.
âWell, I-â Billy frowned, watching as Tommy gestured for him to step inside. âUh, sure. Yeah, that would be nice. Thanks,â he added as an afterthought, before hesitantly stepping inside the room. He was only just past the other boy when he turned back to face hi, frowning. âThe name wasnât my idea, for your information. Kate- uh, one of the others- she suggested it.â Billy shrugged, reaching a hand up to rub at the back of his neck. âI havenât used it yet, but, its a step up from my last name.â
Asgarian had really grown on him, but Kate was right. Well, Kate was right about a lot of things, actually. With all that Billy had discovered he could do- hell, all he was still figuring out - he needed something that actually fit the description. Maybe Tommy was right, but superhero names didnât appear high on his list of priorities at the given moment. Piecing together how the hell his soul was connected with an absoute stranger? Yeah, that felt moderately more pressing. But he couldnât exactly open with that, so he shrugged again, offering something of a smile. âIts definitely better than Blue Wizard, though. God, I would sound like a generic D&D character.â
For a few seconds the other boy looked a little lost and confused, maybe it was because he was trying to keep up with Tommyâs pace or maybe he just had no idea how to act around his... Whatever. âTommy wanted to ask the other what he considered them to be, because he wasnât sure about that himself. Brothers? Kinda. Maybe not at all. They were the same age but they looked nothing alike. Yet he felt like they were alike somehow. Not their personalities, clearly. It wasnât that Tommy didnât like the other kid but he felt like he wouldnât be the kind of kid that would befriend him at school.Â
At the moment the boy said he hadnât used it before, Tommy was a little curious as for what he meant use. Was Billy one of those crazy kids who used their inhuman powers to become a sorta hero? âWhat do you mean use? Are you a hero already? Did you go on hero missions?â What must that be like. Tommy at first didnât feel like he could be a hero, not until he had a deep talk with Wanda about this andtold him that he was a lot like her and her brother when they first came into contact with this. They were just two orphans who found out about powers and shit, then they became Avengers.
Not sure why sheâd exchange the life as an Avenger for this place, she could be having adventures somewhere else. âYou do look like the kind of kid who plays D&D.â He didnât really noticed when he said that, but he wasnât wrong. Billy didnât seem like the kid who went out to have fun, he looked like playing games was better. âBut I did thinkg about QuickKid.â Which was lame, as hell. Also, he wasnât about to get his name based on someone he never knew. Then he realized the only person in this whole âfamilyâ he could actually relate as a relative was Wanda so far. She was there for him, she had searched for him, like he mattered. âWhat do you think we are? Brothers?â He blurted out to the brunette.

As if it wasnât enough feeling humiliated for not being able to fix her own suit without her dadâs help, there was a kid there to watch how badly she had failed. Hope wanted to punch something, but that was not an option. Especially because the kid really looked thin, she would probably punch a hole trough him. âBeat it, kid.â As soon she she said that, the started trying to check the back of her suit, where the wings were. Needless to say that she couldnât do that and the scene became really pathetic. Humiliation wasnât enough, she was humiliating herself in front of a freaking civilian kid.
Teen, whatever.
After a few seconds she started hearing a beeping sound coming from her malfunctional wing, which did worry her. Upset too. âDamn it.â She said, trying to reach for the wing, now things werenât just about humiliation there was a small chance the suit would blow up or something. Thatâs when it hit her, she could request for help. It was something she hated doing, but still. âDo you mind, dumbass?â Hope didnât have any manners when it came to speaking with the public. At all. If she wasnât mistaken the suitâs explosion could either shrink down tons of shit or make a huge hole in the city.
Living in this country wasnât much calm nowadays, he couldnât even go around testing his super speed without having to meet another fellow super person. Well, kind of super. She was as super as the old man Tony, she had a suit that did most of her work for her. Tommy wouldnât mind if he had one of those for himself, it would make being a hero much easier. Also he wouldnât get tired or running, the suit would do this for him.Still, it would probably ruin of the fun of believing he was actually good at something. âAs far as Iâm concerned I can be wherever I want.â He replied to her rude comment for him to beat it.
Watching he trying to grab her wing was purely fun, he wish he had brought his phone with him right now. This would be gold online, he could get rich. But just the show was already good enough. He wouldnât be enjoying as much if she hadnât been so rude with him. For some reason this chick was angry, she tried to dump her anger on him the poor standbyer. Well, he would like this scene either way. What could he say? He wasnât raised to be all that polite. At the moment the sound started, Tommy felt like she would ask for help but like the good boy he was he waited for her to beg for his aid.
Not beg, though. Still, she did ask him for help so he ran to her aid. âOkay, Ms.. Grumpy Pants, stay quiet.â He said as he tried to find a proper way to remove the wing, in the end he just punched trough the thing and ripped her wing off. The sound stopped. âThere you go.â He said with a smile on his face.

It was time to check if the armor still worked well, she had tried to fix it herself after the whole battle for the sake of the Universe.
Hopefully Hope expected not to have broken anything. Despite knowing exactly how it worked by now she still hadnât as much experience on the whole mechanics of the suit and it wasnât like she was going to ask the others for help. Partly because she would feel like such a jerk going to them only after needing them. Sure, she was a jerk but not that big of a jerk. So once it was all done she put up the suit and checked and if her wings still worked.
While her wings had been fixed, Hope forgot one small detail, she had inverted the circuit of one of her wings. This made the whole pair to malfunction and project her trough a wall, she just flew across the sky of new York. All happened so fast she couldnât even reach for the buttom in her costume and shrink so she just flew.
Eventually she managed to stop and fall in safe ground without breaking anything. There she noticed someone looking at her. âThisâŠâ Oh, she had no good explanation. âwas none of your business.â
Recently he learned that he could actually reach top speed if he had enough suger in his blood, so he decided to try it out a little bit. Sure, they could come and go from the Academy, it wasnât a prison or a school. All of his classmates were already over 18, 21, so they could pretty much do what they wanted. He left a note for his mom - Wanda - saying he was gonna run some errands. Well, she knew him he had no errands.
All Tommy did all day was study, read a thing or two and play videogames. He was thinking about getting a job, being a hero wasnât really doing it for him so far. Still, he wasnât giving up on anyrthing yet. The whole superhero thing was fun, he just didnât fell like he was good at it. So when he ran to Hollywood, Tommy had one goal in mind - to be there in less than half an hour.Â
Some red signs and traffic later he managed, but it had been forty minutes. On his way back he tried to be faster, but he forgot to eat anything so he ran out of juice sooner than expected. âDamn.â He said as he had to stop and go to a gas station near his location to see if they had something to ear. They did and he basically ate all of it.
Once he stepped outside he watched the Wasp - not really sure which one actually because they were like each one a different color - land. It wasnât a nice landing, it was like something Nate used to do back in the times they fought Kang.
Thereâs No Place Like Home.
To say that their performance against Supergiant had been disappointing was an understatement. Yes, of course, it was understandable that they had failed, as they were youngsters as of yet; Â however, if they were to be the next generation of Avengers, the Academy had to start pulling up their weight.
And the best way to do that was through hard work and training. Lots and lots of training. Granted, the task assigned to them wasnât that difficult: their first official outside-of-school mission was to travel to New Mexico, where strange readings had began to pop up on S.H.I.E.L.D.âs radars, which some believe to be residues of the Infinity Gauntlet, destroyed during the confrontation with Thanos.
As their Quinjet arrived in town - cloaking devices still on and the team under careful supervision of a teacher - they could feel there was something wrong in the air. It was heavy and arid; more so than youâd expect from a place like Puente Antiguo. For those more in tune with magic, they could sense there was a charge of it in the air. Maybe not related to the Infinity Gauntlet, after all.
If there was one thing America hated, it was knowing sheâd failed. And this time, sheâd failed big.Â
Granted, the Young Avengerâs latest fuck up had been a team effort, but America wasnât someone who was willing to share the blame. The way she saw it, her mistakes meant that the blame was hers entirely. Besides, this was no small mistake; theyâd lost an infinity stone. That was a big fucking deal.
So, when she was offered a chance to redeem herself, to prove that she was worth the chance Rogers took on her? Hell yeah, she jumped on it.Â
The feeling that something was wrong weighed on her chest from the moment the Quinjet touched ground. It wasnât just the teacher theyâd made tag along; that was more of an annoyance than anything else. No, the air was thick with dread, something America had grown used to during her time exploring the multiverse, something that she associated with fight. Her heart pounded against her chest, and adrenaline rushed through her veins. Â
âReady for this?â she asked, glancing to her teammates in anticipation.Â
During their whole way to New Mexico Tommy wondered if he was actually capable of putting up with the things that might come up. Last time they had done anything to help this planet ended up with that Supergiant-alien-woman-thing getting an Infinity Rock.Â
The others were well prepared, they had their own mentors of sort. People they looked up to and that actually could help them deal with this whole power strugle, but Tommy had no one. Wanda was his mother, but she wasnât really able to help him understand his limits or his powers. Maybe if the âfatherâ of the equation was still around. No, he had to get himself killed in that stupid Civil War fiasco.
Maybe he was only cut out to be one of those regular people that kept their powers a secret or only did use it to do regular stuff. When America asked him and the others if they were ready for this, Tommy felt like he would never be ready like anyone on this jet was. Yet he didnât say a thing about those bad thoughts, he liked to give out confidence or whatever it was that he passed when he spoke.Â
âI wasnât ready for the whole coming into the world thing. Either time.â Tommy told her with a smile on his face.Â
Soulmates|| Billy & Tommy
In the grand scheme of things, Billy wasnât sure what he had expected. Then again, did anyone know what to expect when meeting a sort-of twin for the first time? Distantly, he thought that he should have actually thought things through, prior to showing up at this boyâs door. But running away now would earn him the remarkable first impression of both cowardly and weird, and that didnât sound like the sort of winning combination he was going for. Then the door was swinging open, and oh, that was even weirder.Â
The first thing that really struck him was the way the boy looked. This boy- Tommy lookedâŠwell, familiar. Not in a way that people might have assumed they were twins - which they werenât, sort of - but in a way that felt more like rediscovering someone than meeting them for the first time. Which, okay, that was mildly disconcerting. Sure, he had assumed this would be weird, but this? Billy was too far out of his element. What was the proper way to deal with that? There wasnât exactly a manual for etiquette when meeting your supposed soul twin. They should really look into that.
It took another moment for Billy to realize that he had, much to his dismay, been staring. Great, Kaplan. Way to go. He closed his mouth, trying his utmost best to stop looking like an idiot. âUhâŠhi?â Without really meaning to, he did an odd waving thing with one hand, which was probably the exact opposite of cool. âHi. Iâm Billy. Billy Kaplan..â Were they supposed to shake hands? Billy paused, then stuck his hand out with a smile that was only a little tentative. âWiccan works, too, if thatâs easier.âÂ
The kid wasnât a lot like him but he was also totally like him, Tommy himself couldnât wrap up what he was feeling. It was like he knew this boy but he really hadnât seen paler anywhere else. Was he pale like that too? God, he should probably take some sunbaths, because after so many months locked up he probably was as white as his hair. Actually it was a little silver, not white. Just like... him. Not him the boy in his door, but the him that made him have all this powers. Quciksilver... Maybe he choose that name because of the color of his hair. Tommy wasnât set on a codename just yet but he doubted heâd follow his dad-brother-whatever steps. KidSilver was odd.
Unpolite, he was just looking at the kid. Just like the blue eyed on the other side just looked at him. Wiccan... Yeah, he thought KidSilver was bad. âFunny name.â He didnât notice he said that until he actually said it. âArenât wiccans people who practice wicca? Do you practice wicca? Are you religious?â There probably should have been a filter between his mind and his mouth, like other people had, but Tommy had this little flaw. If a thought passed by his mind he would just speak whatever it was. âBetter than Blue Wizard or Scarlet Wizard, I mean.â Did he know magic like Wanda? What she did wa even magic? He had no idea if she was a witch or a really powerful inhuman. Was she an inhuman? In moments like this Tommy felt like he should make more questions.
âIâm Tommy, by the way. Donât have a codename because I have no idea how should I call myself.â Unlike the other âtwinâ he wasnât as certain of this whole super hero stuff. All he wanted was to remain safe, to defend himself from any kind of person of alien or whatever. âDo you want to come in?â Tommy gestured for the other to actually enter the room, the kid looked like some sort of vampire standing at his door.Â
âThere are new kids on the blockâÂ
Continuing my series of Young Avengers character fanarts. Hereâs my take on Tommy Shepherd, aka Speed. Serving you some gym teacher chic haha.Â
I said heâd be the last one but thereâs one more left :)
Soulmates|| Billy & Tommy
Todayâs practice had been brutal. No matter what he started - tried to do, more realistically - he hadnât been able to follow through. Even flying had ended when he lost focus and hit the wall, none too gently. It was safe to say no one was thrilled with his performance, but by some miracle, no one had said a word. Cancelled the rest of his training for the day? Yes. But had they snapped at him? Not even remotely. Billy could tell that it was a chore to suppress anything negative about the actual train wreck that he currently was, so they deserved something for that. A sticker, maybe. In all actually, it was in their best interests to keep quiet today. Any other day, no one would have hesitated to ring him out and hang him to dry, but today, he had a considerable excuse to let his mind wander.
The other boy - Tommy - was there. At the academy, of all places. HisâŠoh God, his what? Brother? What were they to each other, aside from strangers and very likely, completely different people. That sounded nothing like âbrothersâ. What if they hated each other? For what was approximately the hundredth time that morning, Billy contemplated bolting from the hallway and hiding before this exchange could even take place. The lingering fear that this would go terribly wrong was itching at his thoughts, leaving him with the need to either get it over with or get the hell out.
So Billy steeled himself, pushing his messy hair hopelessly away from his forehead, and knocked on the door in front of him. As long as he hadnât managed to get himself lost, then this was where Wanda said he would find hisâŠwhatever Tommy was. Tommy- okay, names were fine. He would stick with names. Maybe, if he was lucky, this wouldnât be a fraction as awkward as his imagination was making it out to be.
Stark. He was now in an super hero academy that was under the lead of Tony Stark, which was pretty much the smarted guy in the world. Also he was an alien impostor until a few months ago, when the real one returned to this god forsaken world. If it was up to him Tommy would fly away with that iron suit and get to a nice planet without the super mess that went down in here. A mess he was now a part of, which didnât bother him all that much. Being super fast was the best super power for a guy like himself, he now didnât have to wait for anything. Kinda. He could do things faster but the world was still slow as frick, which disturbed him severely.
There was also the detail he was being forced to deal everyday with the aftermath of being captive of aliens that changed their shapes. Now one of his so called classmates was one of those aliens, which his sister slash mom slash mentor said was harmless, but he didnât believe t the least. During the sessions he couldnât help but to pay attention to him, making sure he wasnât going to harm him or anything. This was one of the reasons he accepted to be part of this Sky High kind of thing, he wanted to be able to defend himself next time he was ambushed or captured or this kind of shit.Â
Tommy might not be the best person to interact on this place, mostly because he still felt out of place. After all he had arrived recently he dt the chance of actually feeling home. It had been a while since he felt home at all, to be honest.  People might see this whole Avengers Academy - what a silly name - as a second chance but on the last months Tommy really gave up the whole home concept. Thatâs when he heard someone knocking on his door, which didnât happen much because as stated previously he didnât interact much in here. Fast as a blink he ran to the door and opened it, looking into the other personâs eyes for a while with no real idea of what to say. âOh...â Was everything he managed to come up with.
