I would really like to be a sex therapist… 🤔

I keep hearing stories about afab people having never had orgasms and coming from sheltered backgrounds, and amab people being so scared of failing their partners they self sabotage in bed…

And I think about how when I was on an ssri I 100% just did not orgasm and I was talking to my regular therapist who… happened to be a kink and sex forward therapist (not why I saw her, funnily enough) and she looked and me and nodded and said, “okay… and does sex HAVE to end in orgasm to be accomplished?” And I have literally never heard anyone suggest it’s OKAY to not orgasm. It isn’t a failure to complete the event. Wild. It big time changed my perspective on happy enjoyable sex. (Btw, I switched my antidepressant to an snri and it helped a lot. Still low-ish libido but better in other regards. If you’re on an ssri and frustrated by that aspect of the side effects, try asking your psych about an snri and if it could help)

Anyway, the culture around sex is fascinating and often sad… and somehow I’ve gone from a catholic girl afraid THINKING the WORD sex was a sin, to a nsfw smut artist. Aint that everyone needs to be sex crazed, but I’d love to somehow help people feel more confident and comfortable in that aspect of their life.
