Pairings ~ Jobe Bellingham x Bartender!reader
Summary ~ While you were working your shift, you run into none other than Jobe Bellingham. You try not to show just how interested you are, but it seems like the feelings are mutual.
Warnings/tags ~ Fluff, slight cursing, Jobe is a sweetheart, use of y/n, mentions of alcohol
Word count ~ 818
A/N ~ I hope y'all love it because I'm kinda fucking with it.
The club was packed with people, bass vibrated through your body. The smell of alcohol and sweat lingered in the sultry air, sticking to your skin like adhesive. Your sleeves were rolled up to your elbows, some of the buttons undone; an attempt to cool yourself down. The bar was surrounded with people, some only talking, others ordering.
You had just given a customer their drink when you heard a voice from behind you, trying to get your attention. You turn around, ready to take their order, nearly freezing mid motion at the sight of the man in front of you.
The Jobe Bellingham was sitting down, staring right at you. The bar you worked at was known, so it wasn't new when a famous person popped up from time to time. You tried to keep your cool, slipping back into professional mode.
"What would you like sir." you smiled, though you were internally panicking.
"I need a bottle for the vip section, if you don't do full bottles can we just get a couple shots?" his teammate--who you recognized to be Carney--spoke for him.
"I can get you a full bottle, which one would you like." you moved out of the way, fully showcasing all of your selections.
He contemplated for a moment, eyes narrowing in thought. "The whiskey?"
You grabbed the bottle, placing it down on the table with a heavy clank. He handed you his ID and his card, tapping his fingers on the glass bottle as he waited.
You slid his items across the table. "All set." you grinned.
Carney disappeared off into the crowd, but Jobe stayed planted in his seat; gaze lingering on you.
"Anything for you?" you asked.
"I'll take a Shirley temple." his said, his accent prominent.
"Absolutely." you said.
You started making it, moving with that effortless mastery that you had acquired from your years of bartending. "What's your name?" he questioned, perking up in his seat.
It gets harder and harder to suppress your excitement. The way his eyes studied you like he was truly intrigued, the way his lips twitched into a smile every time you locked eyes. Suddenly, the atmosphere grew thicker, suffocating.
"Y/n." you said simply, leaning forwards so he could hear you a bit better.
"Very pretty name, for a very pretty lady might I add." he smirked.
You giggled slightly at the compliment, your cheeks heating up. "Thank you, Mr. Bellingham"
His face lit up at the fact that you knew his name, as if he wasn't a famous footballer playing for a very famous football club.
"You know me?"
You scoffed at the question, handing him his freshly made drink. "You're famous, of course I know you."
His fingers wrapped around the class, the ice cubes clinking against the class; barely audible over the loud music.
He slid you his money, you made your way to the register to put it in before making your way back over to him with his change.
He shook his head as you tried to hand it to him. "Keep it, just for you though." he winked.
You thanked him before pocketing the money, a warmth sprouting in your chest. Could Jobe Bellingham really be into you? No, he was famous. The chances of a famous person going for someone who isn't famous as well were low.
"You're absolutely stunning." he took a long sip of his drink.
But never zero.
"I'd really like to get to know you, if you'd let me."
He rarely ever asked out anyone, his heart was racing; practically beating out of his chest. The strobe lights hid the blush creeping up on his cheeks, and he was immensely grateful for that.
"Jobe, come on mate, what are you doing?" Carney appeared next to him, breaking the tension of the moment.
"I'll be right there." he hesitated, eyes never leaving yours.
Carney left again, leaving the two of you to mingle once more. Jobe grabbed a napkin, snagging one of the pens from the counter. His hands were shaking, and you could see his chest rising and falling rapidly from here.
You yourself were just as nervous, mind an absolute mess. But he didn't need to know that. No one needed to know that.
He handed you the napkin, fingers brushing his as you grabbed it; though it was quick, the touch sent currents of electricity pulsing through your veins. As it did his.
"I've got to go now, but I meant what I said." he smiled, getting up from his chair, "Text me."
Butterflies flew round in your stomach, watching his tall frame vanish into the sea of people. You went back to serving people with excitement still bubbling deep behind your ribcage.
And that night you did just what he told you to do, sending your very first message.
Heyy, It's the girl from the club.
A/N ~ so can y'all tell that I've never drank alcohol before or no because I had no clue which drink to put for them not even gonna lie

Summary: After getting broken up with and being conflicted about your feelings for Jobe, thereâs no better way to cope than to go out and drink your heart out till you drunk text Jobe.
You were a mess.
You felt like someone was praying on your downfall in life and it was indeed working.
A few months ago, you broke up with your boyfriend. It was more of something you had to do for your self respect. You knew he wasnât beneficial for you but when he was good, the relationship was so good.
It was your fault it had dragged out for so long. You felt like half of the 8 months you two were together for was just cut in half and it wasnât valid for it to be considered 8 months.
Everyone else around you knew he wasnât good for you.
Especially Jobe.
Whenever another failed date because your boyfriend (now ex) had stood you up for God knows what reason, Jobe would always tell you, âStop making up excuses for himâ or âIf he wants to talk to you, he will and right now it seems like he doesnât want anything to do with you.â
Jobe was always the one cleaning up your tears at the end of the day. He was always the one clocking you and opening your mind.
Ultimately, you felt bad about him having to deal with your emotions so you stepped your right foot forward and decided to break up with your boyfriend to prevent the rest of the storm.
It embarrassed you of how vulnerable and easy you were.
A part of you was relieved you didnât have to worry about if he was with another girl or why he wasnât talking to you.
But the rest of you crashed and couldnât get over the things he did to you, the part that bothered you was the fact he got over you in a day while you were still mourning him.
However, that wasnât the only reason why you felt like you were in a whirlwind. It was also because of Jobe.
Due to being best friends with Jobe, it also meant being around him all the time and spending half of your weeks with him.
You spend consumed in your thoughts telling yourself you didnât like Jobe and you just liked the kindness he gave you but it was more than that.
You thought that until your heart raced when he touched you the slightest, even when he did the action on accident. One shoulder brush, tapping you on the shoulder was enough to make your heart run in circles.
Of course you couldnât tell him you had a crush on him after years of friendship. You couldnât be the one distracting him from football.
Knowing how busy Jobe was with Dortmund and traveling all over Europe surely you assumed he didn't have time for girlfriends. Plus he already had a thousand of girls drooling over him.
Nonetheless, Jobe always had your back no matter the circumstances. Even if you were intoxicated with alcohol at a club late at night with friends.
You couldn't tell how many drinks how many drinks you had anymore. It was getting to the point where your surroundings were wrapped up in a blurry haze and voices overlapped until they became noise pollution.
Every face you looked at wasn't clear as it blurred into the next. No matter how hard you tried to concentrate, your eyes refused to cooperate. It seemed like everything was moving unusually for you.
You were beginning to be clumsy with your steps, stumbling into other people at the club who weren't as drunk as you were.
''Oh- sorry.'' You croaked, accidentally spilling a shot all over someone. ''Hey.. the wall moved!'' You slurred, not realizing physically that you bumped into the wall.
You continued to stumble to the bar where some of your friends were at and you struggled to get onto the chair as you approached them.
''Oh my gosh! Sasha- I don't know why...'' You held up a finger, trying to collect your thoughts but you just ended up dissolving into laughter. ''I don't know why I'm not drunk often!'' You said in between giggles.
Your friend, Sasha nodded at you, taking another drink of her alcohol.
''You know what your problem is...?'' You poked your friend's chest, missing the first time and trying again. ''You're...'' You smiled in concentration, eyes squinting. ''... Actually I don't think you have one!'' You beamed brightly. ''You're nice... and I like you.'' A soft giggle escaped you. ''Even if you can be a bad influence.''
Your other friend chuckled while you were clearly making a fool out of yourself and they didn't seem to care which you didn't see because you were too preoccupied with stumbling everywhere and spilling your heart out.
''Ugh-'' You rested your palm on your temple while looking at your two friends. ''Guys! I think your friend is done for the night, I don't think I can drink anymore.'' You grabbed their arms and put them up as if they won something. You were in an weirdly jolly mood. ''I tapped out first! Cheer for me!''
''You wanna forget about your ex and that.. random footballer from Germany? Jonathan? Jonah? Whatever his name is. You said you wanted to forget about your boy problems, right?'' Sasha's voice echoed in your ear.
''What! How do you know about that!'' You overly expressed yourself, gasping and putting your hand to your heart. ''You're silly but you're right!''
''Then continue drinking.''
You blinked.
''My head is pounding like my brain is going to explode, Sasha!'' You broke into a giggle. ''I can't drink anymore. Seriously.'' You tugged on the sleeve of her shirt.
''Whatever, you're a mess.'' Your other friend muttered, nudging Sasha giving her a signal to leave.
For a split second, you had your eyes closed as you were laughing and once you opened them, your friends were gone.
''Guys?'' You stayed silent for a moment, looking around, the world around you still a blur.
You started to come to the realization that your friends had left you alone in the loud bar, drunk and evidently not able to function correctly.
Your eyes started to turn glossy, your problems all resurfacing back to the brim of your mind. You started to cry now. You sniffed and rubbed your eyes with the heel of your palm.
It took you a couple of tries to grab your phone that was in front of you but it looked like it was everywhere but in your area to reach. You frowned, getting frustrated.
Finally getting a hold of your phone, it took you at least 3 attempts before you put in the right password in.
You needed to contact someone. Someone reliable. Someone who you knew was going to take care of you.
Having knowledge about Jobe being back home for the season, you scrolled to find his text messages.
hiiiii jobei
its sooo late
oh my gohs eveyrhtings moving!!!!
ur my best freind jo did you knwo that
It took 4 text messages from you to be able to wake up Jobe. His eyes squinted, groaning as he picked up his phone from his nightstand.
He read your messages and automatically sat up in bed, assuming you were drunk based on how you were texting him. His eyes shot open.
Knowing texting probably wasn't the best way to communicate, Jobe clicked the call button on the top of the screen. You picked up after the 3rd ring.
''Hi!!!'' You said, cheerfully from the other side. Your tears seemed to disappear.
Jobe grinned to himself, finding your drunk side always hilarious.
''You're drunk.''
''What! NO! I'm not drunk! Are you watching me!''
''Stay put, I'll be there.''
Jobe instantly hung up, checking your location while putting his shirt back on. He slipped on his pair of slides and grabbed the car keys out of the bowl that was near his door, already making his way to the club you were at.
-
Jobe hustled through the crowded building, frantically trying to find you. You always stood out to him in a room full of people so he knew it wasn't going to be hard to spot you.
He felt his heart slow down in relief once he spotted you, head down on the table at the bar and looking up once in a while groggily.
You felt a gentle touch on the back of your shoulder. Turning around, you beamed while your eyes were half opened. ''JOBIE! You're here!''
Jobe's gaze on you softened, seeing how tired you looked. ''Oh, you sweet girl.'' He whispered softly.
You fell into his arms, wrapping your arms around his neck, melting yourself onto him. ''I tried walking outside..'' You giggled, looking up at Jobe. ''But my feet kept on betraying me! I kept falling!'' You covered your mouth as another laugh escaped your mouth.
''Yeah? Let's get you home, its been a long day for you...''
He wrapped your arm around his shoulder assisting you in walking till you both made it to his car. Jobe opened the passenger seat and gently sat you down. ''Stay there!'' He called out, closing the door and jogging to the drivers seat.
Jobe turned on the engine and started to drive to your house.
The car ride was silent because you fell asleep as soon as he started to step on the pedal.
''And.. There she goes.'' Jobe mumbled, eyes on the road.
Jobe's eyes turned to you from time to time, making sure you were okay.
At a red light, he saw that there was hair in your face and he softly moved it out your way, smiling and caressing your cheek before sensing the green light and driving again.
Moments later, you found yourself still foggy-minded, eyes squinted, and eyebrows crinkled with Jobe whispering in a soft voice.
''Easy.. yeah. There we go, good job.'' You heard him say, helping you get out the car.
Jobe was reassuring you the whole time he helped you into the house. ''C'mon, pull yourself up. One more step, you got it.''
Once you got into the house, you stumbled onto the couch, leaving Jobe with locking the door.
''Let's get your shoes off, silly girl-'' He chuckled, sitting at the edge of the couch and moving your protected feet onto his lap to give him a better grip of your shoes.
''You're handsome.'' You nodded to yourself as if you were confirming a fact. ''Like really handsome.'' You snorted. ''Sorry, Jobie. I can't stop looking at you!''
''That's okay. I'm gonna go get you water, alright? Stay here.''
''Jo, I don't know if you've known this but- I've liked you for awhile.'' You blurted out, making Jobe freeze in his steps. ''Not in a friend way- Like actually- more as a friend. I love the way you look at me.. and I love the way you talk to me in such a way that doesn't make me feel stupid.'' You hiccuped but still continued with your confession. ''I don't even know if you'd feel the same way.. I mean hell- I think I love you, Jo.'' You still had a distinct slurred habit in your speaking but the confession somehow made most of it go away. ''You're the only one who gets me. I want you, Jobe.''
The house goes silent.
''You're the only one who has always been there for me and- I've had feelings for other guys but everything always leads back to you. It drives me insane... knowing that I probably don't have a chance with you.'' You swallowed, shaking your head, head pounding as you thought. ''Goodnight, Jo.''
You were out within a flash.
Jobe didn't know what just had happened. You had just drunkenly confessed to him. That's all he's ever wanted. For you to finally reveal your feelings for him so that he could make on move on you, but he didn't want it like this.
He leaned against the counter in the kitchen, arms crossed against his chest and staring at you while you dozed off into a deep sleep.
What if you were just making up those feelings and thoughts because you were drunk? What if all of this was going to be forgotten in the morning? What if you didn't mean any of it because you weren't thinking straight?
It scared Jobe. He didn't want to feel his stomach churn when you finally told him the words, ''I didn't remember anything I said or did last night.'' once he got the chance to speak to you properly in the morning.
He didn't want to attach himself to words that weren't true unless you said so.
-
Consciousness returned to you slowly in the morning, dragged in by the endless pounding in your eyes and head. Your mouth felt like sandpaper and the sunlight seeping through the curtains seemed unbelievably brighter than usual. You groaned, burying your face back into the pillow.
You heard a key turn in the distance. Being curious, you sat up straight on the couch. You noticed that you were still in your club clothes and a blanket was draped over your body. ''Oh my gosh, what did I do last night.'' You mumbled, knowing damn well what you did.
''You got drunk and knocked out.'' A familiar voice that belonged to Jobe called out from behind you.
''Oh. Jobe, hi.''
''I got you red Gatorade and that soup you like so much from across the street.''
He placed the things on the coffee table in front of you, sinking into the spot next to you.
You sensed Jobe being weird which wasn't like him at all.
Jobe cleared his throat nervously bringing up the topic of last night. ''Do you remember anything from last night...?''
You itched your head. ''I mean.. kind of? Everything was just a blur. I remember Sasha and my other friend leaving me.. then I called you- then you brought me home.''
Jobe nodded, his elbows resting on his thighs.
''Jobe what's going o-''
''You told me you loved me last night.'' He swallowed hardly. ''You told me you wanted me and that you love the way I look at you.'' Jobe ran a hand down his face. ''Tell me all of what you said was true because believe it or not I've loved you for as long as we've been friends- and I want you. All of you.'' He confessed, staying silent for awhile. ''I hated when you came back to me crying over a failed date or boyfriend because I knew I could treat you way better than they did.''
''It's true.'' You said, firmly and confirming all of your thoughts. ''I told you I love the way you speak to me in a way that doesn't make me feel stupid, right?''
Jobe beamed brightly, basically launching himself onto you and kissing you on the lips. It was perfect and everything you wanted. You melted onto him, deepening the connection.
You both pulled back, your forehead resting against his.
''Can I eat my soup and drink my Gatorade before kissing you more?'' You asked, laughing and looking away in shyness.
''Of course you can, love. C'mere.'' Jobe kissed your cheek before pulling you into his arms at last.
The rest of the day was all about curing your hangover and spending your time with Jobe by giving him lots and lots of kisses and you both wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
