PART 1 / PART 2 / PART 3 / PART 4 / PART 5 / PART 6
“Let me get this straight. You have feelings for Jaehyun, but you’re going on a date with this guy named Kun?” Hansol asked walking to the cafe with you. You didn’t have to work, but you both decided to stop by and get a cup of coffee before your next class.
“Yes, Hansol, keep up! I’m telling you valuable information!”
“If you like Jaehyun then why are you going out with Kun?” He asked holding the door open for you.
“Because I don’t want to like Jaehyun. I can’t like Jaehyun it goes against my principles.” You answered sitting at your regular table in the back.
“Maybe it won’t be so bad. You can change him.”
“What you just said made me want to throw up in my mouth. Are you still the Hansol I know and love?”
“Y/N, I’m just saying. You never know and if you get your heart broken in the end I’ll be your punching bag.”
“Your regular orders. Saved the last slice just for you two.” Your co-worker said setting down one cup of coffee and a cup of tea along with a slice of lemon pound cake.
“Thanks Yuni! I’ll see you tomorrow.”
She smiled and she walked away. Your co-workers knew you like the back of their hand. You’ve worked here long enough for them to know your order, class schedule, and personality traits all by heart. They were like a second family to you and you were grateful.
“By the way, we also made out.” You said quickly before taking a sip of your tea.
He almost choked on the piece of cake he was swallowing and had to gulp down the steaming hot coffee to get it down. You flinched and asked Yuni to bring you a glass of water to soothe the burn you knew was there.
Yuni passed you the water and you shoved it in Hansol’s hands.
“We may have made out a little last night. No big deal. Anyway who was that girl at the party?”
“Don’t try to change the subject.” Hansol said wiping water droplets off his lips.
“Come on Hansol! You can’t pester me about Jaehyun all day!” You placed your chin in your hands and pouted.
“Why not?” He whined and leaned his head back. He was genuinely curious and wanted to see how things would play out between you two.
“Not until you tell me about that girl.”
He groaned and rolled his eyes. “Her name is Hannie. She’s a philosophy major and got a full ride scholarship here.”
“Oh like you! Tell me more!” You exclaimed and sipped your tea.
“Tell me about the kiss.”
“Fine since you want to know so badly. It was rough and needy, but I liked it. Hansol what am I supposed to do? This shouldn’t be happening. I told myself I would never fall for that kind of shit ever again. Haven’t I learned from my mistakes?”
“I think you have, but sometimes you have to take risks. You can’t be so serious all the time. I know you don’t trust guys like Jaehyun because of what happened with Doyoung, but you can’t hate men forever Y/N.”
“I don’t hate men. I just hate men who use girls for their own entertainment.”
Hansol sighed and took your hand.
“I can’t force you to give him a chance, but just think about it. Really think about it. Think about what you truly want. You’re already one step in, why not go all the way?”
“Fine, I’ll think about it. I really love our coffee shop talks.”
“Of course you do I’m amazing to talk to. There’s no one else who is more fabulous than me.”
You sighed and checked the time again. Kun was supposed to meet you at the restaurant at 8:00. It was 8:20 and he still wasn’t here yet.
Not again. Please not again.
You heard the bells chime from the entrance door and you looked up. You smiled at the sight of Kun. He may have been late, but he was here. You were going to wave him over when you saw him bringing in another girl. His arm around her waist and she laid her head on his shoulder. You looked down when they passed you.
You were going to leave when you heard the bells chime once more.
“Jaehyun? What are you doing here?”
He ignored you and pulled you into a hug. You sighed and wrapped your arms around his torso. You weren’t going to refuse it because you needed comfort. You were so close to crying, you needed to be held right now. You should’ve listened to him. You only knew Kun for a few hours. It seems like Jaehyun’s known him longer.
“I’m sorry princess.” He whispered and kissed your head.
He led you back to the table you were sat in. He held your hand across the table and stared at you while you kept your head down. You stared out the window and watched the sun go down. The restaurant was close to being empty and it gave you this 1950s vibe. You wished you could enjoy it more.
You didn’t have to ask. The silence that followed was the only answered you needed. He knew and he came here to check on you.
“Thank you.” You said turning to him.
His face was covered in surprised. He didn’t expect you to thank him. Maybe yell at him or ignore him, but not thank him. He smiled and squeezed your hand.
“Hi! May I take your order?” A waitress asked pulling out a notepad.
“Actually can we get two milkshakes and some fries?” Jaehyun said cutting you off.
She nodded and turned around and made her way to the kitchen.
“Since that asshole ditched you for someone else, this will be our date.”
You blushed and looked down. A date? With Jung Jaehyun? He laughed and lifted your head up with his finger. His wide smile affecting the way you were breathing.
“You’re so cute.” He said before pecking your lips.
He kissed you again and you had time to return it. Soft and slow. You didn’t expect anything like that from the boy. Maybe you were already changing him, but did you really want to?
“My little princess. My precious baby girl.” He whispered against your lips.
Maybe you did like being called his baby girl. All those times he called you princess you didn’t stop him because you secretly liked it. You liked hearing the name slip off his tongue. It pleased you to know that were something to somebody. Even if that somebody was toxic to your health.
“Here’s your order.” The waitress said setting down your food. You thanked her and grabbed one of the milkshakes, but Jaehyun took it out of your hands.
“Nope, this is for something else. Something special. We are sharing this one.” He said placing two straws in the other milkshake.
You rolled your eyes and grabbed a french fry instead.
“How did you and Hansol become so close? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, but I figured it’d be better than just sitting in silence.”
“I was always the quiet kid in class. I had friends, but we didn’t always talk to each other. I met Hansol when we were paired up with one another for a history project. For some reason I felt comfortable around him and now here we are. He’s my family.”
“I can say the same about my friends.”
“Why are you the way you are?” You asked staring at him. His eyes revealed something, but what? It was so hard to read him sometimes and maybe that’s why you’re attracted to him.
“Let’s just say when you fall in love and they hurt you to the point where you feel like you can’t even breathe you become someone cold.” He replied giving you a small smile.
“Everyone hurts everyone Y/N. It just takes that one person to break you.”
Let me be that one person to help fix you. That’s what you wanted to say to him, but it wouldn’t come out. Instead you grabbed his hand, hoping that would be enough. You finished your food, but you sat there for a little while longer.
“I mean it you know. I want to be with you.” Jaehyun suddenly said.
You looked up at him, but he was staring out the window. It was completely dark outside now. He stood up and helped you do so as well. He grabbed the left over milkshake and walked towards the back, pulling you with him.
“Jaehyun where are you going? The door is this way.”
Suddenly you were stood in front of Kun’s table. Oh. Now you understood. He handed you the milkshake and smiled at the pair.
“Kun what a lovely surprise.”
“Jaehyun, what are you doing here?”
“You stood my girl up. Instead of being on a date with Y/N, you’re here with someone else.”
Kun didn’t get a chance to finish his sentence before Jaehyun’s fist connected with Kun’s jaw.
“That’s for touching her.”
He nodded at you and you poured the milkshake over his head.
“That’s for standing me up.”
“You never had a chance anyway.” Jaehyun said wrapping his arm around your shoulder.
“Thank you for tonight. Honestly I don’t know what I would have done if you weren’t there. I should have listened to you.” You said leaning against your door.
“Y/N I’m always going to be there for you. At least now you know who Kun really is.”
You giggled and pulled him closer. His forearm against the door while his hand was on your waist. You bit your lip and glanced down to the floor.
“Hey don’t do that. I want to look you in your eyes.”
You looked up and pulled him down towards your lips. You were already one step in, why not go all the way?
A/N: Okay but can you imagine!! I mean if this actually happened to me I would’ve cried. Like please call me your princess or your baby girl just love me! I would honestly cry if someone just held my tiny hand!
