Quick Book Review:
The Haunting of Hill House
This book solidified for me that I am not a fan of Shirley Jackson. It is poorly paced. The character dynamics make little sense and are inconsistent. The suspense is ineffective and the world building is underdeveloped.

Is the bookshop going to actually burn??? Is David tennant going to run into the burning bookshop??
Today was the first day in the bookshop. We looked around in awe and said things like “When I die, I want to come here…” and “this must be the best bookshop in the whole world” and “did you see…?”
And then, sooner or later, someone would say “I can’t believe we have to burn it all down.”
I now feel guilty for having written that it burns down.
I’m afraid David Tennant is definitely going to have to run into the burning Bookshop, yes.

Any book recommendations?
I think I have cycled through all the classic ‘Tumblr’ books: The Raven Cycle, The Foxhole Court, Six of Crows, The Secret History, Carry On, Milk and Honey, The Song of Achilles, Harry Potter (obviously). So does anyone have any suggestions of similar books, or just ones you really like?
Try The Fairyland Series by Catherynne M. Valente.
It's an awesome middle grade/YA fantasy series. The first book is The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making.
