can we talk about "is it romantic how all my elegies eulogize me"? the fact that she's asking "is it romantic" and not "isn't it romantic" really stood out to me. almost sounds like she doesn't think it's romantic, but her whole life she's been trained to romanticize and find beauty in everything she went through, including the bad parts, so now when she's feeling vulnerable and lost and like she doesn't belong, she's still looking for those pieces of beauty in her pain, and still trying to make it all seem romantic in order for it to make sense.

we went from "i want your midnights" to 'i want your dreary mondays" and i think that's beautiful. midnight is a time for partying, for getting drunk and doing stupid things like jumping into a pool fully clothed, a thing she also references in paper rings, but finding someone who wants to be with you when it's monday, and you're tired and don't feel like starting off the week is really really special.
